    Opis:
    The first Polish edition of Abdelwahab Meddeb’s La maladie de l’islam (The Malady of Islam) is an important achievement for all researchers of Islam, Arab culture and relations between the West and the Arab/Islamic world. The book was firstly published in Paris in 2002 by Éditions du Seuil publishing house. Meddeb’s work, with the title inspired by Voltaire’s dismissal of Jansenist movement, presents an important voice within widely understood contemporary humanities. Meddeb’s intellectual project is deeply rooted in thinker’s twofold genealogy – French and European, but equally Tunisian and Arab. His critique of Islam, however passionate and polemic, actually builds on the longstanding potential of Arab-Islamic culture e.g. by focusing on the rethinking of the heritage of Ibn ‘Arabī and Ibn Rušd in contemporary contexts. Meddeb’s text abounds in references to giants of Western and Arab thought, and encourages mystical dialogue between and inside Christian, Islamic and Jewish traditions.

    This article is a review of the book by P. Abriszewska Literacka hermeneutyka Cypriana Norwida [Cyprian Norwid’s literary hermeneutics]. The book discusses the previous research of the issue, taken in the context of the Romantic, the 19th-century and the 20-th century hermeneutic thought. The review focuses on the reconstruction of the diversified and multilateral hermeneutic approaches to Norwid’s works proposed by the author of the publication. These hermeneutic approaches are linked with culture, literature, history and – to the smallest extent – with nature; all of them being part of the poet’s oeuvre.

    Recenzja przedstawia książkę P. Abriszewskiej Literacka hermeneutyka Cypriana Norwida. Zostaje ona ukazana w kontekście dotychczasowych badań nad tym problemem, a także hermeneutyki romantycznej i XIX-wiecznej, również XX-wiecznej. Rekonstrukcji poddano zaproponowaną przez autorkę rekonstrukcję zróżnicowanej i wszechstronnej hermeneutyki Norwidowskiej, związanej z kulturą, literaturą, historią i w najmniejszym zakresie – naturą; hermeneutyki łączącej się z projektem twórczym poety.
