    Opis:
    The purpose of this paper is to identify challenges and opportunities for exploring Lean approaches in managing instore logistics processes of a hypermarket, wherein data collection made to quantify the state of the system, methods, and instruments will be applied to improve picking and restocking processes between the two main stock areas, the store and the warehouse. This article reports on a case study work, comprising direct observation, and analysis of the data collected, which was developed in three main phases: identification and characterization of problems, improvements in management of stock and restocking information, and finally improvements in the picking and restoking processes and teams. After analysing the hypermarket, some problems were found such as a high percentage of non-productive time in restocking, a daily average of 132 products to be restocked, a lack of standardization of tasks in the warehouse, and outdated restocking management system. Therefore, there will be some proposals to change the restocking management system, the picking and restocking work method and the warehouse layout, which makes it possible to decrease stock breaks in the store by 17%, the number of employees dedicated to these processes from 14 to 11, and finally, to reduce 2 daily hours of non-adding value time. This work makes an innovative contribution to fulfil a lack of publications dedicated to hyper-market inbound logistics between the warehouse and the store. Thus, it reveals the significant importance of focusing on instore logistics to the point of sale, concerning the efficiency, the lean production, and social benefits to the retail hypermarket, from the reception of products in the hypermarket warehouse until they are placed on the store shelves.

    Opis:
    Celem artykułu było zaproponowanie usprawnienia procesu kompletacji w hurtowni działającej w branży elektrotechnicznej, które polegało na zaprojektowaniu systemu kodów lokalizacji produktów. Dokonano pomiarów czasów poszczególnych czynności wykonywanych podczas realizacji zamówienia klienta oraz ustalono korelację między liczbą pozycji asortymentowych w realizowanym zamówieniu a czasem trwania czynności przygotowania produktów do odbioru. Na podstawie szeregu rozdzielczego punktowego ustalono średni czas trwania czynności przygotowania produktów po wprowadzeniu zaproponowanego rozwiązania.
    The aim of the article was to propose the improvement of the picking process in an electrical engineering wholesaler, which consisted in designing the product localization code system. Time measurements of individual actions carried out during the execution of the customer's order were measured and also a correlation between the number of assortment items in the executed order and the duration of the preparation of the goods for delivery was established. On the basis of the point distributive series, the average duration of the preparation of the goods after the proposed solution was determined.

    Cel – zbadanie wpływu przyjętego systemu wag w metodzie TOPSIS podczas wyboru lokalizacji na długość trasy pokonywanej przez magazyniera podczas procesu kompletacji produktów w zależności od rozmiaru zamówienia. Metodologia badania – Gdy przedsiębiorstwo stosuje przechowywanie współdzielone, wybór lokalizacji, z której zamówiony produkt będzie pobrany jest jednym z ważniejszych problemów w procesie kompletacji. Dla każdego produktu lokalizacja może być wybrana na podstawie jednego lub kilku kryteriów. W artykule zostały wykorzystane trzy kryteria, dla których za pomocą metody TOPSIS została zbudowana miara syntetyczna, mierząca poziom atrakcyjności każdej lokalizacji. Zastosowano siedem kombinacji wag. Po wyborze lokalizacji, za pomocą heurystyki s-shape, została wyznaczona trasa, którą musi pokonać magazynier. Powyższa analiza została przeprowadzona dla trzech rozmiarów pojedynczego zamówienia, w którym było 10, 20 oraz 30 produktów. Zbadano po 20 zleceń dla wielkości pojedynczego zamówienia wynoszących 10 i 20 różnych produktów oraz 15 zleceń dla zamówień 30-elementowych, a różnice pomiędzy otrzymanymi wynikami dla każdej wielkości zamówienia zostały zbadane za pomocą jednoczynnikowej analizy wariancji. Wynik – Dla zamówień 10- i 20-elementowych występowały istotne różnice w średnich długościach trasy pokonywanej przez magazyniera, natomiast w przypadku zamówień 30-elementowych różnice nie były istotne statystycznie. W analizowanym przypadku opłacało się nadać dużą wagę kryterium, które preferuje te lokalizacje blisko których są inne kompletowane produkty. Oryginalność/Wartość – wykorzystanie metod wielokryterialnego podejmowania decyzji w wyborze lokalizacji podczas procesu kompletacji produktów i zastosowanie ich dla rzeczywistych danych w przedsiębiorstwie zajmującym się dystrybucją narzędzi i odzieży roboczej.
    Goal – the analysis of applied system of weights in the TOPSIS during selection of locations on route length during order-picking with respect to the order size. Research methodology – When a company utilises the shared storage, selection of location from which the product will be picked is one of the crucial problems in the process of order picking. For each product, the location can be selected on the basis of one or more features. The articlepresents three features, for which on the basis of the TOPSIS method, a synthetic measure was constructed. Seven combinations of weights were applied. After selection of locations, on the basis of the s-shape heuristic the picker’s route was designated. The analysis was performed for three sizes of the single order: 10, 20 and 30 different products. 20 orders for 10 and 20 different products and 15 orders for 30 different products were analysed. Differences between the obtained results were analysed by means of the one-way ANOVA. Score – For orders with 10 and 20 different products there were significant differences in mean route lengths, while for orders with 30 different products, these differences were not statistically significant. In the analysed example, the decision maker should assign big weight to the criterion that prefers locations, close to which the other ordered products are located. Originality /value – application of the multiple-criteria decision-making techniques in selection of locations during the order-picking and using them for the real data in a company that deals with distribution of tools and workwear.

    W artykule przeanalizowano zagadnienia dotyczące gospodarki magazynowej, wykorzystania infrastruktur magazynowej i manipulacyjnej oraz zagospodarowania przestrzeni magazynowej w zakresie realizowanych procesów w magazynie wybranego marketu budowlanego DIY (ang. Do-It-Yourself). Z wykorzystaniem takich narzędzi, jak mapa procesu oraz karta przebiegu czynności przeprowadzono analizę procesu kompletacji towarów dla wybranego zamówienia klienta. W wyniku przeprowadzonej symulacji zaproponowano rozwiązania, mające na celu zwiększenie efektywności procesu kompletacji zamówień przez skrócenie czasu jego realizacji.
    The article analyzed issues concerning warehouse management, utilization of storage and handling infrastructure and management of storage space in terms of the processes in the warehouse for the DIY (Do-It-Yourself markets). With the use of tools such as a map of the process and course card of operations were carried out the analysis of the picking process of the customer order. As a result of the simulation the solutions were proposed – aimed at increasing the efficiency of the order picking process by shortening the time of its implementation.
