    W opracowaniu zanalizowane zostały odpowiedzi religii światowych na problemy wynikające z zachodzących procesów globalizacyjnych, które są odpowiedzialne z kolei za stwarzanie przeszkód w dalszym trwałym rozwoju. Na początku znajduje się omówienie problemów wynikłych z procesów globalizacyjnych, w drugiej części scharakteryzowane zostały kanały za pomocą których religie świata formułują swoje odpowiedzi na wyróżnione problemy oraz źródła na których się opierają sugerując rozwiązania dla powstałych problemów. W trzeciej części są przedstawione odpowiedzi religii na te wyróżnione wyzwania: wyzwania o charakterze społecznym (nierówność, bezrobocie i ubóstwo – jako konsekwencje procesów globalizacyjnych) i wyzwania o charakterze gospodarczym tj. polityka rozwojowa , społeczeństwo konsumpcyjne i zarządzanie międzynarodowe. W zakończeniu oprócz krótkiego podsumowania podobieństw i różnic występujących między stosunkiem religii do problemów globalizacji, przedstawione zostały szanse i zagrożenia związane z aktywnością religii na tym polu.
    The paper is focussing on the analysis of world's religions responses to problems arising from globalization processes, which in turn are responsible for creating obstacles to further sustainable development. In the first part problems resulting from globalization processes are discussed. The second part is concerned with the characteristic of channels by that religions of the world formulate their response to the highlighted problems and sources on which world religion support their solution to the problems raised. Finally, the third part presents answers to these religions highlighted challenges: the challenges of a social nature (inequality, unemployment and poverty - as a consequence of globalization) and the mostly economic challenges like economic development policy consumer society and international governance. In conclusion, after a brief summary of the similarities and differences between the relationship of religion to the problems of globalization, the opportunities and risks associated with the activity of religion in this field are mentioned.

    Artykuł przedstawia trzy alternatywne strategie dotyczace rozwoju ludzkości (każda w aspektach: społecznym, politycznym i ekonomicznym). Koncepcje te powstały jako opozycja do procesów globalizacji, które maja znaczący wpływ na współczesną gospodarkę wolnorynkową. Antyglobalizm przedstawiono jako zdecydowaną krytykę globalizacji, alterglobalizm wskazuje na znaczenie społecznej wrażliwości wobec procesów globalizacji, natomiast rozwój zrównoważony sygnalizuje konieczność głębokiej przebudowy obecnego systemu ekonomicznego i politycznego. Wszystkie te tendencje mają wspólny cel – dobrobyt ludzkości.
    Anti-globalism, alter-globalism and sustainable development as an alternative to globalism – the article presents three alternative strategies concerning the development of humanity (each in the social, political and economical aspects). These concepts were created in opposition to globalization processes that are exerting a major influence on the modern world’s free market economy. Anti-globalism is presented as a determined criticism of globalization, while alter-globalism indicates the importance of social sensibility towards globalization processes and sustainable development points out that a profound reconstruction of present economicand political structures is needed. However, all of these trends share a common purpose in the prosperity of mankind.

    We observe a number of evolutionary processes common to many societies, which form the general social effect, in particular in the form of globalization of education. Becoming a dominant trend in the development of the world economy and education, globalization has a transformative impact on national systems of higher education. The article is devoted fundamental problems and values strategies of education. Examines the impact of globalization trends on the processes in societies in transformation transitive systems. The necessity of pluralism of paradigms on the way of new development in higher education is substantiated. The quality of education, in turn, is determined not only by the ability of society to quickly assimilate the knowledge gained. It is increasingly dependent on its moral, ethical and cultural components, that is, elements of the education system, its quality management. The educational process appears in this context as an object of both pedagogical and managerial, and social analysis in the context of the implementation of educational, educational and educational trends in global development in the European educational system.

    The article presents the current evolution of the global information society and the problem of digital divide. An additional category is globalization, which has been presented as an accelerator for the development of a global information society. The role of ICT in filling the development gap between regions of the world was identified on the basis of the UN classification. The concept of “digital divide” was introduced as a synonym for a new kind of development gap between the rich North and the poor South, and analysis of data from UN publications showed a constant high diversity of the global information society, which is clearly regionalized.

    The development of globalization at the beginning of the third decade of the 21st century shows that unpredictable economic factors and new trends have a decisive influence on its course. Examples include continued sustained efforts to change the balance of power, the relativization of the Soviet Union’s share in the defeat of Hitler’s Nazi Great German Empire, the growing influence of the People’s Republic of China and the Russian Federation, turbulent developments in Belarus, as well as the impact of COVID-19 pandemic. Based on these trends, a new global system of international economic, political, social and security relations is being created. The current, dynamically and rapidly changing world brings many positive, but also many negative facts, which are manifested in various areas of human life and society. This is evidenced by the existing and ubiquitous threats and risks that prove it necessary to put security issues first. The author reflects on the current development of the security environment and the degree of threat to the security of the nation states of the Visegrad Group on the threshold of the third decade of the 21st century. The aim is to answer the question: a) Is the security environment changing: a) for better, or b) for worse? The article points out the role of the main security actors and possible changes in the security environment.

    Shmuel N. Eisenstadt has fundamentally modified the classical theory of modernization. Over the course of his work, which is connected with the changes of sociological theory since the 1950s, he has executed a turn from the comparative analysis of institutions to the research program of comparative civilizations. The research program of multiple modernities has emerged out of this attentional shift coming from the First Research Program 1986, which led to “multiple modernities” and to the Second Research Program 2003. A key milestone was the critique of the theory of structural differentiation as the main process underlying the sociostructural evolution of societies; this began with The Political Systems of Empires (1963), along with the development of convergence theories of modernization, which have had impact on contemporary sociological theory beginning with that same book. In the meantime, the research program of multiple modernities now continues into the Third Research Program of Multiple Modernities, Membership, and Globalization 2016 and its implementation (Preyer and Sussman, 2016a, b). Firstly, I will show how the program seeks to sketch an updated vision of the theoretical systematization of research on globalization since the 1990s. Secondly, I will go on to sketch the foci of research within the Third Research Program in our era of globalization; finally, I shall outline some consequences of changes in the research situation within sociological theory.

    The impact of innovations and great inventions, let us say in narrowed understanding, the impact of new technologies represents the object of examination of eminent authors since the nineteenth century. In present time this role of the accelerator of economic development play especially the new information technologies, automation, biotechnology, genetics, new energy concepts including the use of renewable resources, and the development and application of new material technologies. The original Schumpeter’s idea of innovation processes was completed by further aspects – fiscal, legal, marketing, systemic. The world economic crisis caused by the detaching of financial system and real economy suggests that the significant innovations are needed also in this area. In general, the conclusions of many analytical works agree with the opinion that the meaning of innovations in globalized world is increasing, and the innovations represent an important factor able to change the character of global economy. Our contribution focuses to the study of contemporary trends and changes in innovation processes under the impact of globalization, as well as their influence on the competitiveness of Europe in the global economy.

    Opis:
    The development, transformation and restructuring of Polish banking is determined by the direct investment of foreign banking in Poland, the development of capital markets, the progressive integration of financial markets and the implementation of information and communication technologies into commercial banks. The social and economic determinants of these globalization processes also play an important role, including standards and standards transferred from Western European countries to Poland. The current financial system in Poland, including the banking sector, is considered to be almost fully aligned with the European Union standards, which also means a high level of globalization of this segment of the economy and the harmonization of security procedures. The main determinants of globalization processes in Poland include those direct investments undertaken by foreign corporations in Poland, including foreign banks taking over domestic banks. As part of these investments, the state‑financed foreign‑owned financial institution usually introduced the most up‑to‑date technological solutions and business standards developed in the previous, long‑term operation of the leading foreign company. Such investment processes, often linked also to privatization and restructuring of the operations of the acquired domestic entities in Poland, were also related to banking sector institutions. On the other hand, in the context of Poland’s accession to the European Union, the process of systematic adjustment of legal norms and banking safety procedures has been started up to Western European banking standards. The unification and integration processes in the financial sector were motivated by the need to standardize the procedural and technological standards of banking institutions, commercial banks and other financial institutions located in each European continent. The considerable scope of globalization in financial markets in Poland has been evident in the context of the recent financial crisis of 2008.
