    The mining sector development is among the priorities of the Saudi Vision 2030. There is currently a lot of interest in the role of the mining sector in Saudi Arabia. This research contributes to this debate by empirically assessing the effects of mining on sustainable development in Saudi Arabia during the period 1980-2018. Unlike many previous studies, the three sustainable development dimensions, namely economic, social, and environmental, are jointly considered. The cointegration analysis, based on the ARDL, GregoryeHansen, and combined cointegration tests, confirms the existence of long-run relationships between mining and all sustainable development dimensions. Furthermore, the findings lend substantial evidence on the importance of the mining sector in enhancing economic and social sustainability in the shortand long-run. There is, however, no evidence of the existence of adverse environmental effects of mining. The long-run effects of mining are robust to a battery of robustness and stability tests. Suitable policy recommendations are subsequently reported.

    Industrial symbiosis associated with the eco-industrial parks is the cooperative activities between businesses to optimize using of inputs and outputs such as raw materials, energy, water, waste materials, etc. in the orperation of businesses. In the industrial symbiosis model, the overall benefits of the symbiosis activities are more than the ones when working individually. Applying the model could help to reduce the demand of raw materials and increase the waste that be treated – an important part of the circular economy model. The coal mining industry includes many different stages from exploration, exploitation, processing, and trading. Each stage could be performed by different businesses which could corporate with each other. Besides the contributions to the socio-economic development, the industry also emits lots of waste into the environment to cause environmental pollution that needs to be treated. The paper summarizes the theoretical basis of the industrial symbiosis, the circular economy and clarifies the relationship between the industrial symbiosis, the circular economy and the sustainable development goals. From analyzing some typical situations of industrial symbiosis activities in Vietnamese coal mining industry; analyzing some characteristics and potential application of industrial symbiosis in the industry, the paper proposes the model of industrial symbiosis for Vietnamese coal mining industry. The paper also proposes some solutions to promote symbiotic activities in the industry.

    W artykule przedstawiono koncepcję zrównoważonego rozwoju oraz formy jej raportowania. Zwrócono szczególną uwagę na możliwość wykorzystania wskaźników zrównoważonego rozwoju do oceny wartości przedsiębiorstwa w jednym raporcie łączącym informacje finansowe, ekonomiczne, środowiskowe i społeczne. Próby powiązania finansowych aspektów oceny działalności wraz z oceną zrównoważonego rozwoju wychodzą naprzeciw koncepcji wielokryterialncj oceny przedsiębiorstwa pod kątem źródeł tworzenia wartości w obszarach materialnych i niematerialnych. Problem staje się szczególnie istotny w przedsiębiorstwach branży górniczej.
    This paper presents a conception of sustainable development and ways of its reporting. An extra attention was paid to the possibility of using the sustainable development indicators for estimating the value of enterprise in one, single report, consisting of financial, economic, environmental and social measures. The attempt of relating financial aspects of activities together with sustainable development meets the conception of multi criteria assessment regarding the creation of value in both tangible and intangible fields of enterprise. It is a significant problem in mining enterprises which operate in specific conditions.

    В настоящей статье подводятся итоги исследований, которые проводились в процессе реализации исследовательского проекта «Сбалансированное развитие как фактор, обусловливающий правовые основы управления геологическими ресурсами» на основании договора № DEC-2012/05/B/HS5/00632, заключенного с Национальным центром науки в Кракове. Полные результаты исследований представлены в двух монографиях: первая — «Сбалансированное развитие как фактор, обусловливающий правовые основы управления геологическими ресурсами», ред. Г. Добровольский, Катовице, 2016 г., вторая — «Управление геологическими ресурсами в аспекте концепции сбалансированного развития. Правовые аспекты», издательство Силезского университета, Катовице, 2018, под ред. Г. Добровольского.
    Questo studio è un riassunto dei risultati dell’analisi condotta durante il proggetto della ricerca “Lo sviluppo sostenibile come fattore che determina le basi legali per la gestione delle risorse ambientali geologiche”, il quale era basato sul contratto No DEC-2012/05/B/HS5/00632 concluso con Centro Scientifico Nazionale a Cracovia. I risultati completi della ricerca sono stati inclusi in due monografie. La prima è “lo Sviluppo sostenibile come fattore che determina la base legale per la gestione delle risorse ambientali geologiche” (a cura di G. Dobrowolski), Katowice 2016. La seconda è “La Gestione delle risorse ambientali geologiche alla luce del principio dello sviluppo sostenibile. Le questioni legali” (a cura di G. Dobrowolski), Pubblicato dell’Università della Slesia, Katowice 2018.
    This study summarizes the results of research conducted during the implementation of the research project "Sustainable development as a factor determining the legal basis for management of geological resources of the environment" which was based on the agreement No. DEC-2012/05 / B / HS5 / 00632 concluded with the National Science Centre with seat in Krakow. The full results of the research were included in two monographs. The first one is "Sustainable development as a factor determining the legal basis of management of geological resources of the environment", edited by G. Dobrowolski, Katowice 2016.
