Opis:
This research presents a 3D FE method for the simulation of the variable reluctance stepper motor dynamics. The proposed model is used to obtain the optimal minimum energy control law that minimizes the energy injected by the controller. The method is based on the strong coupling of field - circuit equations and extended to eddy current, motion and nonlinearity problem. The linearization technique for the coupled problem is presented. Also the lamination of the motor core is considered. In the paper the open - loop control problem is analyzed. The proposed model is validated by the comparison with measurements. Next, to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed optimal minimum energy control method is applied. In both cases, the examination of the variable reluctance stepper motor dynamics and the steel loss in the core is presented and compared.

Opis:
This paper is devoted to the shape optimization of the muffler shield with regard to strength properties. Three different optimization criteria are defined and numerically implemented concerning the strength properties of the shield, and different variants of optimization tasks are solved using both built-in optimization modules and in-house external algorithms. The effectiveness and efficiency of the optimization methods used are compared and presented.

Opis:
The composite materials optimal design problem which taking into account the thermal characteristics is the part of an actual structural design task. A wide range of variety of such material structures and the complexity of modeling some physical phenomena (such as the phenomenon of those structures effective characteristics percolation threshold appearing) requires a high level of detail in physico-mathematical models. Here, in this paper, were analyzed the role and place of physico-mathematical microlevel models in problems of composite materials optimal design. The methods of such materials representative volume elements construction within the model calculations, which are the key step in the modeling of complex structures variety, also were analyzed. Basing on the usage of finite element method for modeling of stationary heat conduction and elasticity linear problems was proposed the combined formalization of coupled thermoelasticity problems simulation method in complex structured composite materials, which is especially useful when used in engineering applications which provide a high level of abstraction. Basing on the analogy method and theory of similarity were developed the complex structured composite materials microlevel models, which allow one to synthesize and then re-use in the problems of composite materials optimal design, such effective thermal characteristics as thermal conduction coefficient, Young's modulus, Poisson's ratio and temperature coefficient of linear expansion. This gives the ability to avoid of classical complex mathematical homogenization processes or real experiments. The method and models were successfully implemented by using of highperformance parallel and distributed computing technologies in heterogeneous computing environments, as evidenced by the simulation results.

Opis:
The problem of finding the parameters of the gas transmission system in terms of its operations under unsteady operating modes are considered. We show mathematical models of gas flows in the basic facilities in the system with a complicated piping diagram. The solution is built to solve a system of partial differentia equations with the finite element method of large dimension with boundary conditions, some of which are designed in the process of solving the system of equations. This is due to the provision of technical and technological constraints on the pressure of the controlled points of the system. On the resistance to finding a solution significantly affects a step of the time coordinate. The proposed algorithm in the editing process of flow diagrams provides an increase in stability of solving systems of equations, and significantly reduces the time for the simulation.

Opis:
An optimal control theory based method is presented aiming at minimizing the energy delivered from source and the power loss in a stepper motor circuit. A linear quadratic current regulator with an infinite time horizon is employed and its appropriateness for this type of a problem explained. With the purpose of improving the accuracy of the control system, the self and mutual inductances of windings are calculated using a finite element model. The numerically computed results are verified experimentally.

Opis:
In this paper we prove the convergence of an iterative scheme of fractional steps type for boundary optimal control problem which is governed by the phase-field transition system. The existence of an optimal control and necessary optimality conditions are given for approximating problem. A gradient type algorithm and numerical implementation of this algorithm are discussed.
W artykule dowodzi się zbieżności procedury iteracyjnej typu kroków ułamkowych dla zagadnienia sterowania optymalnego brzegiem w układzie pola ze zmianą fazy. Wykazano istnienie sterowania optymalnego i podano warunki konieczne optymalności dla zagadnienia aproksymującego. Rozpatrzono odpowiedni algorytm gradientowy oraz realizację numeryczną tego algorytmu.
