    Gajewska Grażyna, Cyborgi – literacko-filmowe figury dyskursu interaktywnego [Cyborgs – Literary and Film Figures of Interactive Discourse]. „Przestrzenie Teorii” 32. Poznań 2019, Adam Mickiewicz University Press, pp. 179–196. ISSN 1644-6763. DOI 10.14746/pt.2019.32.9. The author analyzes the figure of the cyborg in science fiction literature and film. The text begins by showing this kind of literary work in the theoretical field and presents it as an interactive discourse. The author describes the scientific roots of constructing a human-technical hybrid, emphasizing the ideological and political context of this research. In this approach, the cyborg appears as a participant in and also a hostage of the Cold War. Next, the author finds literary and film creations of cyborgs inspired by this political and military heritage. The article also presents alternative images of cyborgs co-creating a feminist and postcolonial discourse. They were also included in specific policies and strategies aimed at deconstructing concepts such as sex and gender, sexuality, race, nation, social class. The main thesis of the article is that as fictitious and real entities, cyborgs are prone to ideologization and burdened with the obligation to politicize. Therefore, when studying cyborgs in literature, film and comics, we must ask what ideologies and politicians they serve.

    The article analyses currently emerging patterns of womanhood in the socio-cultural context. The author, using the feminist discourse, attempts to answer the following questions: What positive changes (based on the idea of gender equality) had taken place in terms of how the pattern of womanhood is culturally constructed? Are there still such areas in the contemporary model of woman’s life, where we observe certain forms of discrimination, based on a stereotypical attitude (in both: biological and cultural sense) towards gender issues? The author, by adopting the gender perspective, analyses fundamental areas in women’s lives: professional career and private life, to verify the level of their social (re)construction. Her reflection is also enriched with ponderings about the place of womanhood in popular culture. Through references to numerous research findings taken from the professional literature (mostly Polish), she tries to demonstrate that there are two opposing forces that influence womanhood: the first one bases on the mechanism of stereotyping and gender discrimination (determined by the essentialistic perspective) and the second one promotes equality discourse (determined by the perspective of social constructivism). In conclusion, the author makes the assumption, that contemporary patterns of womanhood balance on the line between two worlds, in which deeply rooted tradition (conditioned by the biological determinism) coexists with modern egalitarianism. The specific discrepancy between outer and inner (self)perception of the social and professional roles women play causes many dilemmas and forces them to make difficult decisions in life.

    In my paper I take a close look at the protest group, Femen, the circumstances of its creation, development and recent activities - initially in Ukraine, latterly also in Western Europe. I analyse the character of the group which belongs to the category of new social movements, and I present and analyse those indications of the activity of demonstrations of the movement based on what took place at street level. The object of my interest is also the issue of the appearance of the representatives of Femen in the media (new and traditional) and the influence of the pop culture on different aspects of its activity. I also question the issue of the employment of nudity in the public domain, and its connection with the usage of the expression of nationality against the background of other feminist movements.
    W pracy pochylam się nad ukraińskim ruchem protestu Femen, kontekstem jego powstania, rozwoju i działalności – początkowo w Ukrainie, a potem także w Europie Zachodniej. Analizuję charakter grupy jako należącej do kategorii nowych ruchów społecznych, a także przedstawiam i analizuję przejawy działań kontestacyjnych ruchu, opartych o konwencję performance’u i przedstawień ulicznych. Przedmiotem mojego zastanowienia jest także kwestia obecności oraz funkcjonowania przedstawicielek Femenu w mediach (nowych oraz tradycyjnych) oraz wpływów popkultury na różne przejawy jego aktywności. Rozważam także kwestię wykorzystania nagości w sferze publicznej, powiązaną z użyciem idiomu narodowościowego, w kontekście innych ruchów feministycznych.

    Badania nad pornografią w kulturze są obecnie jednymi z prężniej rozwijających się obszarów dyskursu naukowego. Najczęściej taka sytuacja dotyczy jednak ośrodków i badaczy zagranicznych, chociaż od niedawna z tego rodzaju badaniami możemy zetknąć się na rodzimej scenie akademickiej. Badania nad erotyką i pornografią w chwili obecnej wydają się jak najbardziej uzasadnione, gdyż nagość czy seks są dziś wszechobecne i ogólnodostępne, a nierzadko stanowią również element strategii marketingowych. Refleksja nad statusem erotyki i pornografii w szeroko rozumianej kulturze popularnej sięga wielu dziedzin, włączając w to m.in.: takie obszary jak film, media, sztuka, marketing, ekonomia, historia, socjologia, prawo. Niniejszy artykuł porusza kwestię kobiecego spojrzenia na pornografię – zaczynając od jej szerokiej definicji. Przytoczone w tekście wypowiedzi feministek, wraz z oryginalnym kontekstem prowadzą do ogólniejszej konkluzji na temat płci w pornografii, znaczenia kobiecego ciała oraz jego estetycznego wymiaru.
    Research on pornography in the culture are now among the most dynamically developing areas of scientific discourse. Most often, however, this applies to centers and foreign researchers, although recently this kind of research we encounter on native academic scene. Research on erotica and pornography at the moment seem entirely justified because nudity or sex are now ubiquitous and mainstream, and often also part of the marketing strategy. Reflection on the status of erotica and pornography in the wider popular culture dating back many fields, including among others: such areas as film, media, art, marketing, economics, history, sociology and law. This article concerns the issue of women’s perspective on pornography – starting with its broad definition. Quoted in the text of the speech feminists, along with the original context leads to more general conclusions about gender in pornography, the importance of the female body and its aesthetic dimension.

    Autorka rozważa status i miejsce, jakie w serbskiej kulturze zajmuje kobieta-pisarz, odwołując się do feministycznej i postmodernistycznej utopii hybrydycznej tożsamości. Wychodząc od definicji cyborga, jako utopijnego konceptu pojawiającego się w feministycznej refleksji Donny Haraway, analizuje utopijne aspekty określenia „kobieta-pisarz”, bazujące na ciągłej zmianie tożsamości płci i ról kulturowych, implikowanych przez to określenie. Figura kobiecego autorstwa w kontekście neokonserwatywnego rynku serbskiej kultury w okresie przejściowym jest bardziej niż kiedykolwiek związana z rozumieniem oraz z oceną tradycyjnej koncepcji i miary „kobiecości”. Figura kobiety-autorki w kulturze serbskiej wykorzystuje różne feministyczne strategie reprezentacji, które ją ośmieszają lub pozornie wspierają. Wszystko to wskazuje na pilną potrzebę wypracowania poważnych podstaw dla badań genderowych w tym kraju i w regionie.
    This paper analyses the status and place of the feminist and postmodern utopia of multiple identities in Serbian culture. Starting from a definition of cyborg as an utopian concept of the feminist thinking, given by Dona Haraway, the paper explores possible utopian aspects of the syntagma woman-writer that are based on constant change of gender identities and roles that the syntagma implies. The figure of female authorship in the context of neo-conservative spirit of the Serbian cultural market in transition is more than ever connected to the understand-ing and evaluation of the traditional concept and quality of "the feminine". The figure of female authorship in Serbian culture is also based on flirting with different feminist strategies of repre-senting, whether they ridicule or apparently support it. All this points to an urgent need of form-ing a serious stand about the studies of gender in this country and in the region.
