- The study focused primarily on the analysis of the periodic annual and mean annual increment and on the recognition of the growth phases for beech growing in the lower storey of beech−pine stands. The empirical material collected from 12 beech−pine stands located in the territory of the Miłomłyn and Stare Jabłonki Forest Districts was used for the study. The height increment of the beech trees from the second storey of beech−pine stands under study culminated earlier than the height increment of the beech trees from pure, one−storied stands. The beech trees growing in the second storey are also characterised by a shorter juvenile phase.
