Opis:
The anthropological, cultural, social and religious changes taking place over the last decades have strongly influenced the shape of marriage and family life. By reading “the signs of the times, ”the Church undertakes a reflection on issues related to marriage and the family. In the dimension of the Catholic Church, this reflection is made especially during synods of bishops which yield apostolic exhortations presenting renewed visions of pastoral care. Regarding marriage and family, they are found in John Paul II’s exhortation Familiaris Consortio and Francis’ exhortation Amoris Laetitia. This article addresses the issue connected with mutual relationships between the pastoral concepts contained in these documents. Its presentation revolves around three parts which correspond to the methodology of pastoral-theological reflection: evangelical discernment of the situation of marriage and the family (cairological premise), establishment of pastoral paradigms (criteriological premise) and directions of pastoral solutions (pastoral-praxeological conclusion). The article shows both Amoris Laetitia’s continuation of the concept of pastoral care of families presented in Familiaris Consortio and the originality of thoughts and change of pastoral paradigms in the teaching of Pope Francis.

Opis:
One of modern challenges facing not only politicians, economists or sociologists is the demographic makeup of Poland, which is a derivative of tendencies that are visible in the whole of Europe. Demographic changes are not leaving the Church unaffected. One has to take into account the decreasing number of children and the youth, who are the a major target of pastoral initiatives in Poland. The adult and elderly groups existing in the Church will grow, which will create a demand for new and adequate pastoral solutions for them. The pastoral care of families, elderly, lonely and sick will face special challenges. The article attempts to present the lines of development of activities conducted in the mentioned sectors of pastoral care which the Polish Church should pay attention to.

A family which is founded on love, and the sacrament of marriage of the parents is the best environment for living, raising and rehabilitating a disabled child. His/her presence presents numerous difficulties that the parents have to overcome. Disability often negatively impacts the child’s acceptance of the parents. Due to the child’s disability the relationship between the parents may be disturbed; its impact is also perceptible in the relationship of the affected child with his/her siblings and other family members. Parents not always can look after their disabled child and deal with his/her rehabilitation and upbringing. Such difficulties constitute a challenge for various people and social institutions that help families with disabled children. Among them is also the Church whose pastoral care is meant to directly assist families and guide them in their seeking material, medical and psychological help.

Po ukazaniu się adhortacji apostolskiej Amoris laetitia rodzi się pytanie, jakiej odnowy wymaga przygotowanie narzeczonych do małżeństwa w Polsce. Analiza tekstu adhortacji pozwala wydobyć podstawy tejże odnowy, czyli dowartościowanie etapu wychowania w rodzinie oraz etapu pracy z parą narzeczonych, a także odpowiedni dobór treści formacyjnych, cele formacji, jej podmiot oraz zadania tegoż procesu. Pośród kierunków odnowy przygotowania do małżeństwa papieski dokument wskazuje na ewangelizację oraz mistagogiczne przygotowanie narzeczonych oraz pomoc w poznawaniu się i uczeniu miłości do konkretnej osoby. Akcentuje także pomoc w pogłębieniu motywacji zawarcia małżeństwa oraz w rozpoznaniu niezgodności i sygnałów ostrzegawczych zagrożeń wzajemnej relacji. Adhortacja rzuca także jasne światło na kierunek pracy duszpasterskiej z parami żyjącymi „bez ślubu”. Z przedstawionych przesłanek w artykule zostały sformułowane wnioski, dotyczące form przygotowania narzeczonych.
After the publication of the Apostolic Exhortation Amoris Laetitia, the question arises as to the required renewal of the preparation of engaged couples for marriage in Poland. An analysis of the text of the exhortation allows us to extract the foundations of this renewal, i.e. appreciating the child-raising stage in the family and the stage of working with the engaged couples, as well as the appropriate selection of formative content, formation goals, its subject and the tasks of this process. Among the directions for the renewal of preparation for marriage, the papal document indicates the evangelization and mystagogical preparation of the engaged couple, helping the betrothed to get to know each other and to learn to love this particular person. It also emphasizes help in deepening the motivation to marry and in identifying incompatibilities and warning signs of the threats to mutual relations. The exhortation also sheds a bright light on the direction of pastoral work with couples living together “without marriage”. From the presented premises in the article, conclusions have been drawn regarding the forms of preparation of engaged couples.

The modern world, largely dominated by information and communication technology, poses new pastoral challenges, one of them evangelization and catechization on the Internet. This study was aimed at investigating and analyzing the image of marriage and family on parish websites in the Archdiocese of Warmia. The qualitative analysis of informational and visual messages on marriage and family available on parish websites of the Archdiocese of Warmia showed that the content on these issues is rarely updated. Information is limited to the conditions for entering the sacrament of marriage and preparing the betrothed to confer this sacrament upon each other. It is sometimes extended to other pastoral aspects such as encouraging families to pray together, celebrating family events, organizing holidays for children and youth, offering information on the domestic church community. Therefore, more attention must be paid to the importance of parish websites in creating the image of marriage and family. In order for this space to be fully utilized, seminary alumni must be properly prepared in the fields of media education and pastoral family care.

Exercise of the Godʼs Mercy in Caritas activity is a charity service based on the Godʼs commandment of love, appropriate to needs of people who suffer financial or spiritual poverty, aimed at bringing help in living decent quality of life. The motive for activity and the charity service comes out of the commandment of the love to a neighbor and desire for imitating the Christ (Luke 10, 30-36). Service to poor and suffering people is an evidence of faithfulnesses to the Gospel and is a continuation of the rich charity tradition of the Roman Catholic Church. Concern about the poor and needing people carried on in the organized and scheduled way exemplifies the solidarity in the Christ with the poor people.

Old age is an ordinary phase of human life on Earth. It is time when one is reaping his or her lifetime harvest. It is also time when one’s fitness and agility decreases and often a disability appears. Senility is a moment of a human life fulfilment. It is kind of a “bridge” leading to eternity. It is inseparably connected with the problems of the suffering, the fading away and especially severe problem of the widowing. Age in the modern society is more and more important topic due to the fact that the society is getting older. The Catholic Church which wants to answer this “signs of the times” makes an required effort. In this article at the very begging was described the life situation of the aged people including the widowed people. Afterwards was characterized the ecclesial teaching about senility with a special emphasizing of the widowing problem. Subsequently was revealed actions which should be or are taken by the Church Ministry towards the old age people.

Duszpasterstwo to zorganizowana działalność Kościoła, która urzeczywistnia zbawcze dzieło Chrystusa. Dokonuje się ono poprzez głoszenie Słowa Boże, sprawowaną liturgię i świadectwo życia. Działalność ta jest skierowana do małżeństw i rodzin. Kościół staje się oblubienicą Chrystusa poprzez „Kościół domowy”, poprzez tę miłość, którą się w nim przeżywa. Małżonkowie, aby mogli w pełni kochać, stając się ciągle uczestnikami tej „wielkiej tajemnicy” potrzebują działań ewangelizacyjnych w ramach właściwie rozumianego duszpasterstwa rodzin.
Pastoral care is an organized activity of the Church, which implements the salvation act of Christ. It is done through the preaching the Word of God, through liturgy and witness of life. These activities are aimed at couples and families. The author points out that the Church is the bride of Christ through "domestic church" by love that is experienced within it. Spouses, to be able to fully love, becoming participants of that "great mystery", need evangelic activities in a well-understood pastoral care of families.

Invoking the pastoral constitution in the contemporary world Gaudium et spes it may be concluded that the Church, proceeding the Christ's work, is obliged to study and interpret the signs of the times in the clear light of the Gospel. It should be done so as to answer the modern men questions and to come up to men’s expectations in the most effective way adapted to theirs mentality. (Vgl. GS 4). (Zur Erfüllung dieses ihres Auftrags obliegt der Kirche allzeit die Pflicht, nach den Zeichen der Zeit zu forschen und sie im Licht des Evangeliums zu deuten). In the creative tension the Church- the World, there is the pastoral work undertaken. It is the organized Church activity, carrying the Christ redemptive work out through preaching the word of God, the Liturgy, ministry and testimoning to the Christian life. There is the need for adaptation to new, constantly changing conditions. Otherwise, even the most effective ways of the Church activity are in danger of ossification and maladjustment to the various modern challenges. The Church is faced with a task to get to know and understand the World, to which it is sent by Christ himself. One of the modern challenges is the demographical situation of Poland, which is the reflection of the European tendencies. The problem mentioned above is crucial not only for politicians, economists and sociologists but also for the ministry. The European and Polish societies are getting older. This phenomenon generates many various social problems which influence the pastoral activity of the Church. The given phenomenon analysis, presented in the following article, requires the research of the consequences that arose due to the demographical situation of Europe and Poland. What is more, it requires the presentation of some possible pastoral care initiatives (concerning families and the elders) as well as conducting charitable activities. Furthermore, the analysis shows the actions, that should be taken into consideration by the Polish Church while preparing pastoral programmes.

Bp Wilhelm Pluta (1910-1986) należał do prekursorów nowoczesnego duszpasterstwa małżeństw i rodzin w Polsce. Interesował się tym tematem już jako kapłan archidiecezji katowickiej, opracowując materiały zawierające strukturę i treść nauk przedślubnych i kursów przedmałżeńskich. Idee wówczas wypracowane leżały u podstaw jego działalności jako biskupa od 1958 r. Stanął on na czele Komisji Episkopatu do spraw Duszpasterstwa Rodzin, której przewodniczył przez pierwszą kadencję w latach 1965-1970, opracowując m.in. „Pierwszą instrukcję Episkopatu Polski dla duchowieństwa o przygotowaniu wiernych do sakramentu małżeństwa i duszpasterstwa rodzin”. Najważniejszą zasługą bpa Wilhelma Pluty w omawianym obszarze jest rozwój współczesnych kursów przedmałżeńskich i poradnictwa rodzinnego. Bp Pluta miał w sferze przygotowania do małżeństwa dobrze przemyślaną wizję strategiczną, która obejmowała wiele elementów, począwszy od wychowania maleńkich i starszych dzieci, poprzez kursy przedmałżeńskie i nauki przedślubne aż do duszpasterstwa małżeństw, łącznie z tworzeniem w parafiach elity rodzin katolickich, świadomie dążących do świętości poprzez życie rodzinne. Nie tylko miał wizję, ale faktycznie starał się wcielać ją w życie, m.in. opracowując potrzebne materiały dydaktyczne i szkoląc duchowieństwo i świeckich, co w latach sześćdziesiątych XX w. było wielką nowością. Bp Pluta brał aktywny udział w synodzie biskupów na temat rodziny w Rzymie w 1980 r. akcentując sprawę wnoszenia wartości Bożych w życie rodzinne. Po dziś dzień większość jego idei i wskazań w sferze duszpasterstwa rodzin pozostaje aktualnych.
Bishop Wilhelm Pluta (1910-1986) was one of the precursors of the modern pastoral care of families in Poland. He was interested in this subject already as a priest of the Archdiocese of Katowice, developing materials containing the structure and the content of premarital courses. The ideas developed in that period were the guidelines of his activities as bishop since 1958. He became the first chairman of the Episcopal Commission for Pastoral Assistance to Families (1965-1970), drawing „The first instruction of the Polish Episcopate for clergy about preparing the faithful to the sacrament of marriage and the pastoral care of families”. The most important achievements of Bishop Wilhelm Pluta in this area are the development of modern premarital courses and family counseling. Bishop Pluta presented a wellconsidered strategic vision in the area of marriage preparation, which included many elements, starting from education of children, through premarital courses up to the pastoral care of families, including the creation in parishes of the elite of catholic families, consciously striving for holiness in their family life. Not only had he the vision, but he actually put it into practice, by developing teaching materials and training clergy and lay people, which was a great novelty in those years. Bishop Pluta took an active part in the Synod of Bishops on the family in Rome in 1980, stressing the problem of bringing God’s values into family life. To this day, most of his ideas and guidelines in the field of pastoral care of families remain valuable.

Since the convocation of the third extraordinary synod, the reflection on the pastoral service of marriage and the family has been dominated by the issue of the Eucharistic Communion for the divorced people who have remarried. It has been going on for over six years. Although this is a very serious doctrinal issue, it cannot overshadow other important problems and challenges related to the new pastoral situations. There is a need to overcome this deadlock. All the more so that the discussions are fuelled rather by journalists or certain circles trying to impose their own narrative on priests. Meanwhile, the objectification of God and human being deepened, and consequently followed the depersonalization of the relationship with God and the relationship in the body, and the desacralisation of the institution of marriage. Negative ideas have their negative consequences against which one must save the family with “the Church’s powers”, that is shaping family life in the perspective of faith, and thus in the sacramental and Eucharistic key. At the same time it is necessary to explore the theological truth about relationships in the body and explain the meaning of the sacramental life in marriage. The apostolate of lay people, understood not as aid for the clergy but as a proper marriage and family commitment to the service of the Gospel, is an irreplaceable factor here.
Od czasu zwołania III synodu nadzwyczajnego refleksję nad posługą wobec małżeństwa i rodziny zdominowało zagadnienie Komunii eucharystycznej dla rozwiedzionych, którzy zawarli ponowne związki cywilne. Trwa to już ponad sześć lat. Chociaż to bardzo poważna kwestia doktrynalna, to jednak nie może ona przysłonić innych istotnych problemów i wyzwań związanych z nowymi sytuacjami duszpasterskimi. Trzeba przezwyciężyć ten impas. Tym bardziej że dyskusje są podsycane raczej przez dziennikarzy czy pewne środowiska, usiłujące narzucić duszpasterzom własną narrację. Tymczasem postąpiło urzeczowienie Boga i człowieka, a w konsekwencji depersonalizacja relacji z Bogiem i relacji w ciele oraz desakralizacja instytucji małżeństwa. Negatywne idee mają swoje negatywne konsekwencje, przed którymi trzeba ratować rodzinę „mocami Kościoła”, czyli kształtując życie rodzinne w perspektywie wiary, a zatem w kluczu sakramentalnym i eucharystycznym. Równocześnie trzeba zgłębiać prawdę teologiczną o relacjach w ciele oraz tłumaczyć sens życia sakramentalnego w małżeństwie. Apostolstwo świeckich rozumiane nie jako pomoc duchownym, ale jako właściwe małżeństwu i rodzinie zaangażowanie się w służbę Ewangelii ma tutaj niezastąpioną rolę do spełnienia.

Opis planów pastoralnych, dotyczących małżeństw i rodzin, zawartych w dokumentach Kościoła w Polsce, ukazuje troskę oraz zakres pracy i starań w tym obszarze. Nauczanie Stefana kard. Wyszyńskiego na temat małżeństwa i rodziny jest ważnym punktem odniesienia. Przesłanie skierowane do rodzin i wszystkich głoszących Ewangelię pozostaje aktualne i niezmienne w swym celu, zakłada większą specjalizację oraz złożoność edukacji i oddziaływań pastoralnych. Kościół ukazuje niezmiennie prawidłowy model rodziny oraz przypomina o jej fundamentalnej wartości.
The new political and social situation after 1989 in Poland brought challenges requiring reflection and action by the Church. Apart from the positive effects of the transformation, gaining freedom and democratic freedoms, there appeared at the same time destructive and demoralising phenomena. Negative effects have primarily affected the family - the foundation of every society and nation. The description of pastoral plans concerning marriages and families contained in the documents of the Church in Poland shows the care and scope of efforts in this area. The teaching of Stefan Cardinal Wyszyński on marriage and family is an important point of reference. The message addressed to families and to all preachers of the gospel remains valid and unchanged in its purpose, assumes greater specialization and complexity of education and pastoral actions. The Church invariably points to a correct conception of the family and reminds us of its fundamental value.

Opis:
Parenthood is an integral element of conjugal love, which in its unifying aspect manifests its dynamism ad intra, while in its procreative aspect it shows its dynamism ad extra. Living through the procreative dimension is a particularly difficult task for those spouses who experience the drama of infertility. This paper briefly discusses the problem of infertility faced by a significant number of married couples today. It points out that instead of using the term “infertility”, it is better to talk about reduced fertility. The paper also presents the spiritual, psychological and moral difficulties faced by spouses who cannot have biological children. These difficulties are at the same time challenges for the pastoral care of families. The way to overcome these difficulties is to refer to the holistic approach to human fertility and parenthood, which takes into account both the physical and spiritual dimension. In the Magisterium of the Church, this approach to parenthood is expressed in the terms “the genealogy of the person” (Letter to Families), “integral procreation” (The Family and the Human Procreation) and “an expanding fruitfulness” (Amoris laetitia in Latin: amplificata fecunditas). An attempt of practical realization of such an understood holistic approach to parenthood is used in naprotechnology and teaching of fertility recognition with the Creighton Model, the so-called SPICE instruction.
Rodzicielstwo jest integralnym elementem miłości małżeńskiej, która w aspekcie jednoczącym przejawia swój dynamizm ad intra, natomiast w aspekcie prokreacyjnym ukazuje dynamizm ad extra. Przeżywanie wymiaru prokreacyjnego jest szczególnie trudnym zadaniem dla tych małżonków, którzy doświadczają dramatu niepłodności. niniejszy artykuł omawia w skrócie problem niepłodności, z jakim mierzy się znaczna liczba współczesnych małżeństw. Zwraca uwagę, że zamiast używać terminu „niepłodność”, lepiej mówić o obniżonej płodności. Artykuł przestawia również trudności natury duchowej, psychologicznej i moralnej, przed jakimi stają małżonkowie, którzy nie mogą mieć biologicznych dzieci. Trudności te stanowią zarazem wyzwania dla duszpasterstwa rodzin. drogą przezwyciężenia tych zagrożeń jest odwołanie się do całościowego ujęcia ludzkiej płodności i rodzicielstwa, które uwzględnia zarówno wymiar cielesny, jak i duchowy. W Magisterium Kościoła takie ujęcie rodzicielstwa znajduje wyraz w określeniach „genealogia osoby” (List do rodzin), „prokreacja integralna” (Rodzina a ludzka prokreacja) oraz „płodność poszerzona” (Amoris laetitia, po łacinie: amplificata fecunditas). Próbą praktycznej realizacji tak rozumianego całościowego podejścia do rodzicielstwa jest stosowana w naprotechnologii i nauczaniu rozpoznawania płodności za pomocą Modelu Creighton tzw. instrukcja SPICE.

Choroba i związane z nią cierpienie przynależą w sposób naturalny do kondycji ludzkiego losu. Normalną reakcją człowieka na doświadczenie choroby jest lęk o siebie, lęk przed przyszłością, lęk wobec ogromu cierpienia. Stąd też sytuacja choroby stanowi wyzwanie moralne dla samego chorego, a także dla jego otoczenia: rodziny, przyjaciół, służby zdrowia, Kościoła. Ludzie chorzy potrzebują i często oczekują pomocy duchowej, duszpasterskiej, sakramentalnej. Kościół zatem ma wyjątkową misję niesienia Ewangelii chorym i cierpiącym na wzór samego Chrystusa, który „przyszedł do tych, którzy się źle mają”. Swoistą „Ewangelią cierpienia” jest Chrystusowa przypowieść o dobrym Samarytaninie (Łk 10, 33-37). Najdoskonalszym teologicznym tłumaczeniem tej przypowieści jest list apostolski Jana Pawła II Salvifici doloris z 11 lutego 1984 r. Z kolei najbardziej wymownym wcieleniem w życie tych treści było cierpienie i odchodzenie do Domu Ojca św. Jana Pawła II, które dokonywało się dosłownie na oczach całego świata. Warto ukazać chrześcijański etos i sens cierpienia. Jest ono bowiem drogą zbawienia. Drogą dopełniania swoim cierpieniem „braków Jezusowych udręk” (Kol 1, 24). Chrystus, utożsamiając się z każdym człowiekiem, a zwłaszcza z tym najmniejszym, słabym i chorym, nie zapomni o tych, którzy, gdy był chory, odwiedzili Go (Mt 25, 43), okazali Mu współczucie i pomoc, modlili się z Nim. Kościół wyznacza chorym horyzonty nadziei przypominając, że ostatnim słowem Boga nie jest cierpienie krzyża, ale zmartwychwstanie.
Sickness and suffering are connected and belong in a natural way to the condition of human fate. The natural reaction of a human being for an experience of sickness is a fear of oneself, a fear of the future, a fear of the enormity of sufferings. Thus the situation of sickness is a moral challenge for the sick as well as for their surroundings: family, friends, medical services and the Church. Sick people need, and very often they await, for spiritual and pastoral and sacramental help. Thus the Church has a specific mission of spreading the Gospel around the sick and suffering as Christ did it when He “came to those who suffer”. The parable of the Good Samaritan (Luke 10, 33-37) is a kind of the “Gospel about suffering”. The most perfect interpretation of the parable is the Apostolic Letter of John Paul II Salvifici doloris of February 11th 1984. Then the most significant embodiment to life of the contents was the suffering and passing away of John Paul II to Our Father’s Home. It was happening and the whole world was watching it. The Christian ethos and the meaning of suffering are worth showing as it is the way of salvation. It is the way of filling up on one’s sufferings of “lacks of the afflictions of Christ” (Colossians 1,24). Christ, who is identifying with every human being and especially with the littlest one, with sick and weak, will not forget about those, who visited Him when He was sick (Matthew 25, 43), who showed compassion and helped Him, who prayed with Him. The Church shows to the sick horizons of hope reminding them that the last word of God is not the suffering of the Cross but resurrection.

W przededniu zbliżającego się Światowego Dnia Młodzieży, który w 2016 roku będzie miał miejsce w Krakowie, warto podjąć refleksję dotyczącą duszpasterstwa młodzieży. Wystarczy pobieżne spojrzenie na polską parafię, by dostrzec, jak wiele jest inicjatyw pastoralnych, które w zamyśle twórców miały przyczynić się do pogłębienia wiary młodych. Niestety, rzeczywistość wygląda zupełnie inaczej. Tylko niewielka część młodzieży w wieku dorosłym czynnie uczestniczy w życiu wspólnot parafialnych, ruchach i stowarzyszeniach chrześcijańskich. Dlaczego tak się dzieje? Jak pomóc młodym ludziom dojść do dojrzałej wiary? Co powinniśmy robić, by być bardziej skutecznymi narzędziami w rękach Boga? Czy proponowane formy oddziaływania duszpasterskiego na młodego człowieka są odpowiednie do tej grupy wiekowej? To zaledwie tylko kilka przykładowych pytań, na które nieustannie trzeba szukać odpowiedzi. Celem niniejszego opracowania jest najpierw przedstawienie zawartych w programach treści odnoszących się do młodzieży, które można znaleźć w ogólnopolskich programach duszpasterskich z lat 2000–2015, następnie szukanie odpowiedzi na postawione powyżej pytania oraz stwierdzenie przydatności zgromadzonego materiału w pracy duszpasterskiej.
The Commission of Pastoral Care of the Polish Episcopate publishes every year pastoral pro-grammes for the pastoral activities in Poland. In these programmes we can find theological reflec-tions on the chosen issues of the pastoral care. Apart from the pastoral church programmes, in these publications there are articles about youth pastoral ministry and about family and upbringing, with-out them the effective pastoral care and influence on young people would be ineffective. For the first time a detailed programme was presented in the 2008/2009 programme and after a few minor changes in has been published up to the present time. Among the main goals of pastoral care pro-gramme we should distinguish those which are particularly important for the youth pastoral minis-try in such issues as preaching the Word of God, liturgy and pastoral youth diakonia. This article analyses issues relating to youth ministry, contained in the Polish pastoral programmes in the years 2000 to 2015.
