    The family is the first and basic educational environment, there the basic standards and moral principles are passed, and also defined attitudes and habits to people and things are shaped, finally, here is the beginning of human interests. Family environment also plays an important role in shaping the relationship of a young man to a book.This article presents the value of a family in the development and strengthening of reading activity of children and the youth. Family plays here an important role, since from the earliest years of a child's life, it has a chance to create positive experiences resulting from a contact with the book. Such situations can arise in a family in which parents find reading enjoyable and pass it on spontaneously to their children.

    The first educational environment of every human being is usually the family. This is where the lifelong process of shaping attitudes and acquiring the desired character traits begins. Just as social attitudes are shaped and strengthened on the basis of values derived from the family environment, the ethos of service is built, which develops and strengthens pro-defence attitudes. Nowadays, such attitudes are less and less often seen among young people due to the crisis of values in developed countries and the promotion of a consumerist lifestyle. Ensuring security in the 21st century depends not only on the military or the intellectual potential of citizens, but above all on the extremely important human factor, most often expressed by patriotic pro-defence attitudes allowing for heroic efforts, especially in the event of a real threat. The aim of this article is therefore to show the extremely important role of the family environment in shaping and strengthening pro-defence attitudes among the society of the 21st century. The research was carried out using theoretical methods, such as analysis, synthesis, generalisation, and inference, and using the technique of examining documents and source materials. Particular attention was paid, inter alia, to the need to build pro-defence attitudes among young people and to the educational functions of the family environment constituting the basis for the process of shaping pro-defence attitudes.

    W artykule został podjęty problem wychowania do wartości realizowanego przez rodzinę i szkołę. Wychowanie do wartości rozumiane jako kształtowanie orientacji aksjologicznej, jawi się jako zadanie szczególnie trudne we współczesnym społeczeństwie pluralistycznym, ale nie niemożliwe. Ułatwić może je świadomość wspólnej odpowiedzialności za wychowanie rodziny i szkoły oraz ich rozsądne współdziałanie. Nie bez znaczenia jest również odpowiedzialne realizowanie swoich własnych zadań w systemie podziału władzy wychowawczej, którymi dla rodziny jest wychowanie do wartości religijno-światopoglądowych i moralnych, a dla szkoły wychowanie do wartości podstawowych. W artykule skonfrontowano ideał współpracy rodziny i szkoły, wyłaniający się z prawodawstwa o szkolnictwie z faktyczną sytuacją współdziałania tych dwóch środowisk wychowawczych we współczesnej edukacji.

    The significance of family Marian catechesis in Poland has been increased by a series of historical events involving Marian revelations and by the pastoral strategy of the Catholic Church. The Marian catechesis was not only included in the plans of religion teaching, textbooks and catechisms, but was also present in the Marian traditions of Polish families. Before children started school or parish catechesis which dealt with the subject of Virgin Mary, they already had extensive knowledge of Her and they could pray to Her. Living in families, they could also easily understand all bonds that mother and son share. In the case of Virgin Mary, they easily acquired the truth that Her Son is God and that She, like every mother, does not leave anyone in need. The Marian catechesis, invariably passed to the catechisized in the family environment, also today must constitute guidance for Poles in answering the question: “what to believe in, how to act and what means of grace to use in order to achieve salvation?” In the layer of content, there must be a clear reference to the mysteries of Christ connected with the life of Blessed Virgin Mary. Religious elements, historical traditions and Marian educational ideas should further converge into one voice praising Mary, Mother of God-Man.

    The family is one of the important areas of research in the sciences of theology. Researchers consider various aspects of life in the family. They pay attention to the family as the primary educational environment. Increasingly, these issues are taken by catecheticsteachers. Analyses undertaken in this study are intended to show the family as an educational environment in terms of Polish catechetics teachers. undertaken analyses do not pretendto fully describe the research in contemporary catechetics. They are more in the nature of a sketch. This paper highlights the key thematic areas of the family as an educational environment. First the terms „family” and „educational environment” were clarified. Then the issues were described in detail. Much attention was paid to the issues related to the integral recognition of education in the family and with those responsible for education. Efforts were made at the same time see the similarities and differences in opinions of Polish catechetics teachers. The relationship between socialization and upbringing in the family, how to implement educational functions and co-operation with other family educational environments (eg. school, church) were considered significant. In this context there were given offers of further study. These included, among others, the need for dialogue of catechetics teachers with representatives of the social sciences. This will not only allow to develop a sound theory but also to conduct quantitative and qualitative research. The acquired data will enrich the catechetical study area and may contribute to the improvement of family catechesis and pastoral care.

    Przedmiotem rozważań są współcześni rodzice, którzy wykazują szczególnego rodzaju uważność wobec kształtowania, formowania, orientowania rozwoju swojego potomstwa. Wprowadzenie kategorii refleksyjności do rozważań nad współczesnym rodzicielstwem ma otworzyć nową przestrzeń konceptualizacji procesów i zjawisk związanych z realizacją roli rodzica, rozumieniem siebie w tej roli i w relacji z dzieckiem.
    The subject of consideration are contemporary parents, who exhibit a certain kind of attention towards upbringing, forming and orienteering? The development/growth of their descendants. I mean here these people, who in the world of multiple and competing choices, make decisions in a thoughtful, rational and metodological? way. They become to be known as reflective parents. The introduction of the reflectivity category into considerations on the contemporary parenthood is to open a news pace of conceptualising processes and phenomena connected with the fulfillment of the parental role, selfunderstanding in this role and in the relations with a child.

    Opis:
    Dom rodzinny powinien być miejscem, do którego dzieci i młodzież chce wracać, a rodzice powinni być osobami, do których zawsze mogą zwrócić się o pomoc. Brak właściwych relacji z rodzicami niekorzystnie wpływa szczególnie na młodzież. Dlatego celem przeprowadzonych badań było określenie, jak nieletni z ośrodków kuratorskich funkcjonują w środowisku rodzinnym. Badania zostały przeprowadzone wśród nieletnich z ośrodków kuratorskich funkcjonujących przy Sądzie Okręgowym w Lublinie. Uzyskane wyniki wskazują, że badani nieletni nie mają poprawnych relacji z rodzicami i konieczne jest w ich przypadku prowadzenie działań profilaktyczno-wychowawczych, zarówno dla nich jak i ich rodziców.
    The family home should be the place where children and youth want to return, and parents should be people to whom they can always turn to for help. Lack of proper relationships with parents in particular adversely affects youth. Therefore, the aim of the research was to determine how minors from probation centers function in a family environment. The study was conducted among minors from probation centers operating at the District Court in Lublin. The results obtained show that the examined minors do not have appropriate relationships with parents and it is necessary in their case to carry out preventive and educational activities both for them and their parents.

    Introduction. The article deals with the concept of the family - it presents and analyses the ways of understanding it, which have been shaped over the years in social pedagogy from the beginning of this pedagogical subdiscipline to the present day. Aim. The research aim is to show the contexts in which research relating to the family has been, and continues to be, conducted in social pedagogy. Method. To answer the problem posed, the analysis of the texts was used, so the methods were of a more qualitative nature - leading to the understanding of the issue. Conclusion. Based on the analysis, it can be said that research on the family that has been conducted so far, and is still being conducted, in social pedagogy, primarily focuses and emphasizes the social dimension of its existence. Emphasizing its community, and its inalienable character, they indicate the external, social conditions of its existence.
    Wprowadzenie. W artykule omówiono problematykę rodziny. Dokonano analizy sposobów poznania i rozumienia tego zagadnienia, jakie kształtowały się na przestrzeni lat - od początku istnienia pedagogiki społecznej, aż do współczesności. Cel badań. Celem badań jest wskazanie kontekstów problemowych odnoszących się do rodziny, jakie na przestrzeni lat są realizowane w pedagogice społecznej. Metoda. Odpowiadając na postawiony problem posłużono się, przede wszystkim, analizą tekstów. Badania miały charakter jakościowy, prowadzący do zrozumienia omawianego zagadnienia. Wyniki i wnioski. Na podstawie przeprowadzonej analizy można stwierdzić, że badania nad rodziną prowadzone na gruncie pedagogiki społecznej, aktualnie oraz w przeszłości, koncentrują się zwłaszcza na społecznym wymiarze jej istnienia. Podkreślając wspólnotowy i niezbywalny charakter rodziny, w badaniach wskazuje się na zewnętrzne, społeczne uwarunkowania jej istnienia.

    Opis:
    A family is a social group which is to carry out an important task in human community. Those tasks are various functions which are meant to well and safely bring up a mature person. However, the educational function has a special significance as in this way a young man is introduced into the world of culture, he creates his first world image, its order, attitude to himself, his life and responsibilities. Every family has their own traditions, customs, habits and atmosphere which form a new social unit. The atmosphere in a family environment has key significance for the formation of child’s personality. It shapes child’s emotional life, his attitudes and motivations. Socialization process takes place in a family and it is related to the phenomenon of inheriting values. The family stores and conveys basic values to next generations. In family culture the moral values which are represented by parents are particularly important; they are the norm code which defines what is allowed and what is prohibited, what is good and what is evil. In this process a natural role of adults includes: communicating clear and understandable criteria, reactions and actions which are consistent with declared values, patient explanations, discussing reasons and gradual leaving more and more space for child’s own attempts to make his own assessment.
