- On the basis of field work, evaluation of site quality in areas inhabited by fafflow deer was carried out. First of all the site quality, stand species composition and their age, as well as the composition of undergrowth and plants growing in the bottom of stands were assessed. In the results of investigations a clear preference by fallow deer more fertile sites with high proportion of oaks (Quercus sp.) and stand of older age classes was stated. The authors desribed also food composition of fallow deer in autumn and winter.
