    Opis:
    The paper presents identifying studies of mechanical properties of the selected materials from the group of elastomers including Asmathane (65 ShA), Easyprene FPS (30 ShA), Biresin (U1305). The tests were carried out at the Laboratory of Strength of Materials, the Department of Mechanics and Applied Computer Science, with the use of an especially designed stand for testing the energy absorption of materials. The research aims were to determine the basic properties and characteristics of the selected materials as well as to compare them and identify the material with the best energy-absorbing characteristics. For a single load-unload cycle, applied dynamically, the hysteresis loops were recorded. Energy-absorption of individual materials and maximum strength were determined. During the experimental test, a fast speed camera was used for accurately register the progress performance of the test. The pictures of the dynamic tests of materials behaviour are shown. The curves of the tested materials are compared in the graphs. The resulting data will help to create constitutive models of the tested materials, which in the next stages of the project will be used in numerical studies on the impact of detonation on the designed protective panel.

    The work presents the fragments of research on the dynamic loads acting on selected military vehicles. Designing new armoured vehicles or introducing modifications is preceded by model tests carried out under various conditions, analysing the effect of dynamic loads which may result during the use of the vehicle, e.g. due to the roughness of the road, firing, IED explosions or the vehicle being hit by a shell. The main purpose of conducting model research and verifying their findings in experimental research is to improve the effectiveness and safety of operation of systems and installations of military vehicles, increase the dynamics of the movement, improve the protection and ensure that the crew is not killed. Among the used models of military vehicles, discrete models are applied, formulated in the adjusted Lagrange description, as well as the models based on the fine element method for highly nonlinear problems and forces acting for a very short time. Due to the unique selection of military equipment, the methods of calculation and analysis of model research (simulations) and experimental research presented in the work are considered qualitative rather than quantitative.

    Opis:
    The goal of the text is to present the critical ethical reflexion on understanding and using covert research. I consider dilemmas that a researcher must face in the field. I also try to analyze how they may be solved. I propose using another and more accurate notion – covering techniques. I also suggest an approach assuming that secrecy is an immanent part of a research process. Those issues are discussed on the basis of the author’s study about selling and buying MA and bachelor theses. It is supplemented by the examples from other research projects the author had taken part in. I refer not only to my personal experience but also to different rules of codes of ethics. I propose the way of acting that could balance between cognitive benefits and subjects’ welfare.
    Tekst ma na celu przedstawienie krytycznej refleksji etycznej nad rozumieniem i wykorzystaniem badań ukrytych. Rozważając dylematy, przed jakimi staje badacz w terenie i próbując przeanalizować, jak można je rozwikłać, proponuję stosowanie innego, trafniejszego pojęcia odnoszącego się do nieujawniania informacji o badaniu – praktyki ukrywania. Sugeruję również sposób postępowania zakładający uwzględnienie aspektu niejawności jako immanentnej cechy procesu badawczego. Powyższe zagadnienia omawiane są przede wszystkimna przykładzie autorskiego badania kupowania prac magisterskich i licencjackich, uzupełniane zaś przykładami z innych przedsięwzięć badawczych, w których autorka miała okazję uczestniczyć. W analizach odnoszę się nie tylko do własnego doświadczenia, ale też do, niekiedy zaskakująco odmiennych, uregulowań w kodeksach etycznych.

    Bezpieczeństwo stanowi podstawową potrzebę człowieka. Jest to stan, który daje poczucie pewności oraz gwarancję jego zachowania, a także szansę do doskonalenia. W związku z tym zasadne jest prowadzenie badań w celu jego zagwarantowania. Dlatego też artykuł został poświęcony charakterystyce wybranych metod empirycznych, które są stosowane w naukach o bezpieczeństwie. Dzięki nim istnieje możliwość badania zachodzących procesów w celu wyciągnięcia właściwych wniosków, aby móc następnie zapewnić bezpieczne egzystowanie wszelkim podmiotom. W artykule scharakteryzowano takie metody badawcze jak obserwacja, eksperyment, metody ankietowania, wywiad, metody eksperckie oraz metoda modelowania. Uzupełnienie metod teoretycznych metodami empirycznymi stwarza szansę uzyskania wiarygodnych danych, które mogą być podstawą do unikania ryzykownych sytuacji zagrażających stabilizacji.
    Safety is a basic human need. It is a condition, which gives a sense of confidence and assurance in behaviour and also provides an opportunity for improvement. Therefore, it is appropriate to conduct research in this area with the aim of securing such a condition. For this reason the article describes characteristics of selected empirical methods, which are applied in research concerning safety. Such methods facilitate examination of processes with the aim of drawing conclusions and ultimately securing a safe existence for all. The article describes research methods such as: observation, experiments, interviews, expert methods and modelling. Supplementing theory with empirical methods creates an opportunity for securing reliable data, which can provide the basis for avoiding risk situations, which threaten stability.
