Opis:
In the global world where competition is increasing constantly, efficient use of resources is becoming more important for the textile industry. In this study, the efficiency scores and inefficiency effects of the textile industry in selected Eastern European countries were investigated using stochastic frontier analysis. The results indicate that age has a negative impact on inefficiency in the Czech Republic and Hungary. The current ratio decreases the inefficiency in Slovakia, Poland and Hungary, while time decreases that in Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Hungary.

Opis:
Bentonite was modified with cetyltrimethylammonium bromide by a simple method and was used as an adsorbent for the removal of Reactive Blue 21 dye. Reactive Blue 21 is an important dye used in the textile industry, which is very harmful for living creatures, especially humans. The response surface methodology (RSM) was used to study the effect of independent variables such as dye concentration (20, 40, 60, 80 and 100 mg/dm3), time (10, 20, 30, 40 and 50 min), initial pH (2, 4, 6, 8, 10) and modified bentonite dosage (1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 g/dm3) on Reactive Blue 21 dye removal efficiency from aqueous solutions. At the optimum conditions (modified bentonite dosage 5 g/dm3, dye concentration 61.3 mg/dm3, pH 4.78; time14.31 min), the predicted removal of Reactive Blue 21 on modified bentonite was 93.22%. In a confirmatory experiment, 92.01% dye removal has been obtained. Thus, the experimental investigation and statistical approach enabled us to model adsorption of Reactive Blue 21 on modified bentonite.

Opis:
The manuscript presents the results of the research regarding the efficiency of removal of coloured organic compounds from textile industry wastewaters with the use of Fenton reaction and simultaneous process of sorption and oxidation in the presence of activated carbon and hydrogen peroxide (or magnesium peroxide) as well as in the presence or absence of UV radiation. The most efficient method – guaranteeing the oxidation of organic compounds and decolourization of the solution indicated by the 80% reduction in COD (as compared to the initial value) within the period of 1 h – was the use of Fenton reaction. The application of combined processes of sorption and oxidation with the use of activated carbon and hydroxen peroxide in order to remove the organic pollutants from the examined wastewaters resulted in 64% reduction in COD, but only after 24 hours. Replacing hydrogen peroxide with magnesium peroxide accelerated the process of sorption and / or oxidation of organic pollutants leading to 50% reduction in COD after 2 hours of reaction. At the same time, initiating the decomposition of H2O2 with the formation of OH* radicals in the activated carbon/hydrogen peroxide system resulted in an effective decomposition of organic compounds, which is indicated by 60% reduction in COD after 2 hours. This solution appears to be the most promising, since after the separation of activated carbon (which can be further re-used) a colourless, transparent solution of pH of 6,5 – 7,5 is obtained, which can be disposed into the municipal sewage system.

Opis:
The study purpose is to measure the performance of the Vietnamese garment and textiles industry by means of the Negative Malmquist model using the data envelopment analysis (DEA) method. The empirical results presented the efficient, inefficient cases, and average efficiency for all garment and textile companies in Vietnam during from 2016 to 2020. The main findings determined that five companies, including HTG, TET, MSH, M10, and BDG possessed efficiency scores in whole terms. An overall picture of the garment and textiles industry in Vietnam is used to evaluate the operational process. The research recommends a feasible alternative method to deal with inefficient cases.
