Due to the commonly perceived need to specialize in one professional activity, the role of education is increasing. This includes accounting specializations which are important as professions of public trust. In connection with such expectations, the role of education among professional groups of accounting professionals at all levels is increasing. The article presents the educational requirements for the professional specialization on accounting against the IFAC International Education Standards and in the context of the deregulation of the accountancy professions in Poland. As a solution to the problems of appropriate education, the role of the Accountants Association in Poland (AAP) was pointed out, based on the courses provided by it, aimed at not only improving the qualifications of the individuals who are involved in accounting professionally, but also on the supporting ethics. The courses taught were analyzed in a cross-section of their participants in the years 2013-2016. The method adopted to achieve the intended purpose was the analysis of the available literature, the laws in force and the sources provided by the AAP. On the basis of the research, it was found that despite the absence of mandatory professional certification for accounting and bookkeeping, the professionals in this area do see the need for continuous education and take diverse action to raise the quality of the services they provide.

Opis:
W artykule podjęto próbę charakterystyki i oceny elementów tworzących system kształcenia nauczycieli w Polsce. Ukazano w nim między innymi: instytucje kształcące kandydatów do zawodu nauczyciela, realia funkcjonowania tych placówek, zasady rekrutacji adeptów sztuki nauczania, założenia i pragmatykę doskonalenia zawodowego nauczycieli. Przeprowadzona analiza pozwoliła wskazać kilka dość istotnych mankamentów w strukturze i funkcjonowaniu opisywanego systemu.
The paper deals with some aspects of teacher training system in Poland. It shows, among others, organizations providing training for future teachers, conditions of work of these organizations, rules of recruitment to the teaching profession, assumptions and realities of teacher improvement training. The analysis done indicates a few significant shortcomings in the structure and functioning of the system described.

The era of Spanish domination over the University of Pavia, which lasted between the magnificent period of the Visconti and the Sforza reigns and the times of the reforms of Maria Teresa and Joseph II the Habsburg, is considered by some researchers as a period of decadence and by others as a phase of purely formal continuity. Over the course of several centuries, there has been a transition from the idea of monolithic medieval university to flexible centers of higher education. From the sixteenth to the eighteenth centuries, the cycle of education at the secondary level was defined, which inevitably imposed its primacy over primary and higher education. In Pavia, the situation was no different from that of other European cities, on the contrary, it adopted certain values within the cultural policy carried out by the Spanish kings. The aim of the article is – using the example of the University of Pavia – to present the changes that took place during this period in secondary education and at universities. The humanistic heritage of the University of Pavia during the Spanish period was confronted with the regional education system, it had to overcome the periods of crisis, then to face changes needed and to create the premises for a deliberate deployment of higher education, which will flourish later under the influence of the Enlightenment. Source research allowed for the formulation of conclusions that the Studium Ticinensis can be considered as an institution that was developing efficiently, was characterized by a coherent educational system, which – like in other regions of Europe – appears to be a fruit of modernity.

The world of technology can be a tool to support development processes, primarily cognitive, emotional and motivational. Adoption issues shaping the image function in the technical thinking of students is justified in many ways: a – impact on the develop-ment of human image; b – multidimensional image and diversity of its media resourc-es; c – the influence of the image on shaping the attitudes and behaviors of education; d – state of research on the evolution of technical thinking of youth. Development of the technical thinking is one of the objectives in the process of technical education. A picture taking part in it by building concepts and technical imagination fulfilling a significant role in the illustration and understanding of issues and technical products and the specific technical action. Technical education requires from teachers to enter a wide range of activities in the teaching process in the direction of the effective appli-cation and the use of image in the development of technical thinking and imagination of students. Pictures have a prominent role here.

In the light of the challenges of the Industry 4.0 the weight of safety and health, and ergonomics are rising. Nowadays one of the common problem in industry are work-related musculoskeletal disorders (WRMSDs). Therefore, an ergonomic risk evaluation is crucial as well the knowledge and education in this area. This paper presents a computerized tool for ergonomic education on ergonomic risk evaluation at the workplace. The tool based on quick exposure check pen and paper technique and Excel spreadsheet environment. It is easy to use and assists students in the evaluation of real as well of simulated workplaces. The proposed tool includes a few integrated parts: background description, students - observer’s and worker’s evaluation and results with visual interpretation. The preliminary evaluation of the Excel tool was carried out by students. It showed that it is useful and easy in use. And the students' opinions on the computerized tool for ergonomic risk evaluation are very encouraging and promise what was presented in this study.

The most important consequences, which the development of computers has caused in the sphere of education and upbringing of children, were presented in the herewith work. The results of deliberations conducted here do not instil optimism. Computers which originally served people as work tools, in the course of time also began to fulfil different functions. The machine which does not seem to be dangerous, is able to make irreversible changes in the physical and psychical health and influence destructively a man’s whole life. The practice shows that children easily surrender to bad influences of computers, and parents mostly do not perceive this fact. Young people sit before the screens of laptops and PCs willingly, mainly because of entertainment which they deliver them. They see in these devices toys which introduce a lot of emotions and satisfy their relaxing needs. These toys in children’s hands, left without supervision, become dangerous. Computer games cause most damage to children. By means of depraved content they trigger bad tendencies in human nature and lead one down the wrong path. Besides, they distort our view of the world and show bad behaviour patterns. It creates danger that the child will shape his habits for good in the direction which leads to many disasters. Pedagogues have to take these threats into consideration when they plan to work with their pupils with the use of the multimedia methods of display. It seems to be an unusually difficult task to lead a child in such a way that he himself would want to use a computer for useful aims. The access limitation to bad content becomes an urgent need in the context of quoted problems. Actions taken so far were not successful and lots of youth are still exposed to their influence. The main cause here is adults’ ignorance of consequences of the overuse of the Internet and bad computer games by their children because effects are not spectacular, but kept hidden away within child’s soul and surface after long time. The traditional forms of education cannot be replaced with modern technologies, but a computer used suitably is very helpful in education and can improve teaching efficiency in many fields. However, there have to be ensured suitable conditions and help from the tutors. The children whose parents treat the educational duty responsibly and establish principles for the wise use of computers by their children, gain a lot thanks to it. Computerisation leads, on the one hand, lots of young people to corruption of their minds, but on the other hand, it raises to a higher level of the civilization development those who can use the modern work tools in the appropriate way.

Indian female graduate students have to make choices among multiple aspects of their mental and physical abilities as science students and women in a society with different gender norms in the country. However, their experiences have not been well researched within the scholarship on commercial acumen. In this study, using the phenomenological approach, we explored the phenomenon of commercial acumen in the Indian female graduates studying science course meaning non-business course. The participants were diverse in terms of their status as students, current students and alumni. A small number of employers also participated in the study. A survey with open-ended and closed questions was used to evaluate the understanding and relevance of commercial acumen skills in the female graduate students, alumni, and employers. The findings of 127 responses indicated that the female graduate students perceived being on the non-business course as a limited experience of understanding of commercial acumen in the context of employability skills. This study recommends a reflection on the part of the educators to highlight the relevance and definition of commercial acumen during degree programmes.

Gender, in particular as it relates to the Irish constitution and Irish Law, is contested and complex, encompassing issues of national identity, religious values and sovereignty. These issues have a strong impact on education and training opportunities for lone mothers. Significant policy changes have taken place in the last decade with a view to creating a more equal society. Yet, this paper argues that gendered assumptions surrounding lone mothers’ position with regard to employment, training and education remain. Society’s traditional assumption of “suitable employment for women” is not a thing of the past. Therefore, while education is one means of empowering lone mothers and freeing them from the poverty trap, it does not address the deep-rooted structural inequalities women face. This is mainly due to paid employment remaining a vulnerable area in relation to gender equality. This is particularly visible in the current economic climate. In March 2009, the ILO warned that the gender impact of the global recession is felt harder by females than males in terms of unemployment rates. This confirms the view that women are still more vulnerable than men in the labour market, which highlights the pressing need for action rather than words in relation to the existing gender equality policies. Furthermore, this paper argues that lone mothers who remain at home caring for their children should be valued and not face automatic poverty. This can only be done through some form of financial security, not by being pushed into paid employment.

The article deals with the problem of professional training of linguists at the UK’s universities. Based on the data accumulated by UCAS it has been calculated that recent trends in university admission campaigns during 2008-2016 prove gradual but stable increase in the number of applicants wishing to pursue career in Linguistics. The characteristic features of the organization of linguists’ professional training have been outlined. It has been indicated that professional training of linguists at the UK’s universities is mainly oriented toward humanities; undergraduate and postgraduate education in Linguistics offers a wide range of qualifications. It has been mentioned that Quality Assurance Agency has developed Subject Benchmark Statement for Linguistics (for bachelor’s degrees with honours), where one can find what can be expected of a graduate in the subject, in terms of what they might know, do and understand at the end of their studies. It has been noted that after graduation future specialists in linguistics are in demand in a wide variety of industries.
