Opis:
The article presents the author’s own teaching method, learner as a cultural actor, used on elective courses devoted to the theatre. It discusses the ways of theatricalization of learning space, shows how to combine knowledge with the ability to self-reflection and performative interpretation texts written by students. The article highlights the role of motivational factors that allow students to be able to create a few-minute performance. In the end, the author shows that performative interpretation can also be applied for other courses, making it an effective way of producing places of "cultural reciprocity", which the M. P. Markowski describes as humanities.

Opis:
Television Theatre is a genre on the border between theatre, film and television. One special example is the so-called art of fact, whose purpose is the reconstruction of events according to facts and reality. The following paper, which is based on the analysis of selected historical performances of the Polish Television Theatre, is an attempt at presenting it as a medium that plays an important role in education and popularisation of the Polish history of the 20th century. At the same time, it is an invitation to more detailed and interdisciplinary research into television theatre.

Opis:
W artykule przedstawiam formy wykorzystania afektu w edukacji artystycznej.
The article presents the forms of using affect in artistic education. Experiences of exciting encounters with places where important performances were made, where great artists and poets created their work, are indicated as nodal points for the induction of affective attitudes, transferred to creative activities. Using as an example a meeting with a key place for the rise of Umarła klasa (the Dead Class) by Tadeusz Kantor, I demonstrate the driving force of affect. Then, I point to the team nature of experiencing creative emotions. The dynamics of group interaction of emotions can be seen in the Literary Club of MOK in Olkusz. Poetry and prose read aloud and staged properly make it possible to share experiences, create an affective space of encounter, serve to get over personal traumas and set new life goals.

Opis:
Goethe’s novel Wilhelm Meister’s Apprenticeship, published in 1795, provides a fictional account of a theatrical production of Shakespeare’s Hamlet. Its initiator is young Wilhelm, whose experiences with this project, in the context of the novel, mark a decisive stage in his education and personal development; as well as, on another level, in the formation of a German national theatre, the mapping out of a theatrical space peculiar to the German national character. To realize his project Wilhelm has to negotiate with his manager and his fellow-actors; these negotiations can be considered reflections of the cultural aspirations and constraints prevalent late 18th-century Germany: – The project itself, as represented by Wilhelm, appears to be informed by a cultural movement towards emancipation from French culture: The character of Hamlet was interpreted as representing a role model for young Germans. – Informed by a theatrical practice based on French conventions, the manager objects to the lack of dramaturgical coherence of the Shakespeare play. As a compromise, Wilhelm composes an adapted version in which references to Wittenberg, Poland, France and England as well as several minor characters are cut, but the Hamlet scenes and speeches are retained. – Wilhelm and his friends also take account of German audiences’ preferences and capacities. The Hamlet project in Wilhelm Meister can be considered a case study of cultural appropriation. Shakespeare becomes a cultural import, used to define and map a cultural space for the German middle class, which in the nineteenth century set store by the quality of its educational make-up.

Opis:
Democracy is bound to fail if its citizens lack opportunities to develop their moral-democratic competence, that is, their ability to solve conflicts through thinking and discussion, instead of through violence, deceit or bowing down to others. The concept of Discussion Theatre has been designed to provide such an learning opportunity. In contrast to traditional theatre, there is no above and below, no division between actors and listeners – all are participants. The Discussion Theatre is the “public” version of the Konstanz Method of Dilemma Discussion (KMDD), which is been successfully used in institutions of education in many countries for over two decades.

Opis:
Despite the fact that there are more and more contemporary academic publications on the subject of oral history understood as an element of research technique, as a separate research technique or as a specific theoretical and methodological approach, rarely do we see thorough analyses of educational potential of oral history projects realized by various institutions all over Poland. In the available publications and websites one can find information and instruction material that can serve as a starting point for the delivery of documentation projects, however, there are still few educational proposals that go beyond recording, editing and archiving of accounts. Although possibilities of using oral history in broadly understood educational field are noticed, few researches try to include this subject into broader context of contemporary pedagogical theories, concepts developed on the basis of cultural animation or discussions concerning activities for commemorating the past.  In the presented article matters relating to education and pedagogical potential of social projects using oral history technique, are analyzed in three overlapping areas, including: shaping of competences at an individual level (by people taking part in an oral history project), creation – at an institutional level – of the educational offer targeted at local communities as well as artistic projects realized by individuals and institutions with the use of oral history narrations. In the next part of the article those questions are analyzed in the context of experience with self-government cultural institution – ‘Grodzka Gate – NN Theatre’ Centre in Lublin realizing a documentation and animation project ‘Oral History of the City’, which was delivered with the perspective of broadly understood community education and it was targeted at supporting processes of reading and (re-)interpreting multicultural past of the city.
