    According to the contemporary theory by Howard Gardner (2009: 26), despite the fact that the school curricula aim at European and global standardization, they do not prepare learners to living in the version of the future world that approaches us. Therefore, we should introduce new ways of teaching, since the current methods have proved to be ineffective. We should also establish new objectives as well as forming novel paths in education, new means of thinking and gaining knowledge, while keeping in mind the demands that the new world imposes on us. Gardner (ibid.) emphasizes the necessity of studying more than one discipline, apart from specializing in one field, in addition to developing the ability to integrate information, the need for creativity, treating others with respect and consolidating the ethos. The requirement underlying the fulfillment of these goals lies within our cognitive skills and relies on the enhancement of five minds: interdisciplinary, integrative, creative, respectful, and ethical. A reflection comes to mind then as to the necessity to gradually build up awareness in learners in order to achieve these objectives and enable them to excel in developing the five minds. Therefore, the Author refers to many methodologists and psycholinguists, who present various aspects accompanying the process of consciously instilling the need for the development of the five minds.

    The text is devoted to the analysis of civility, which practically disappeared from the contemporary pedagogical discourse (though not the humanistic one). The (re)construction of the concept is aimed at restoring the importance of civility as a form of civilised life and at arguents for learning, i.e. acquiring this quality. For this purpose, a review of historical concepts concerning civility is made, then the link of civility with customs and morals as a part of the civilising process is shown. At the end, its contemporary approach is proposed in a dual role and space: interpersonal and social, in the private and public spheres, in their mutual dependencies. It is assumed that the (re)construction of the concept, including the presentation of civility as a useful good and at the same time a manifestation of the human morality or the human condition in general, makes it possible to place it among the internal goods of education.

    Artykuł prezentuje przesłanki wyjątkowej ważności idei tolerancji w procesie edukacji oraz życia społecznego. Porusza także kwestie konieczności ustanowienia granic tolerancji, kształtowania kolejnych etapów zachowań nietolerancyjnych oraz wskazuje na konieczność podejmowania nowych zadań i działań na polu edukacyjnym, których źródłem jest szybko zmieniająca się rzeczywistość. Dzięki uznaniu ważności idei tolerancji w praktyce edukacyjnej możemy kształtować sposób zachowania się jednostki, którego fundamentem będzie szacunek i otwartość do spotykania się z innymi.
    The article presents the premises of the exceptional importance of dialogue and trust in theprocess of education and social life. The article presents the conditions for the exceptional importance of the idea of tolerance in education and social life. It also addresses the necessity ofestablishing tolerance limits, shaping the next stages of non-tolerant behaviour, and points to theneed to and activities on the educational field triggered by a rapidly evolving reality, which permeated the cultural diversity of the and an approaching diversity of contemporary differences byrecognising the importance of the idea of tolerance in educational practice, we can shape the behavior of an individual whose foundation is the respect and openness to meet with other.

    Prezentowany artykuł dotyczy autorytetu nauczyciela. Przedstawiono w nim jego definicję w ujęciu kilku równych autorów książek oraz badanej grupy osób. Wyróżniono kilka rodzajów autorytetów nauczycieli: ze względu na zakres wpływu autorytetu, ze względu na rodzaj kwalifikacji nauczyciela oraz ze względu na charakter stanów psychicznych, których występowanie uzależnione jest od poszczególnych kryteriów. Poruszone zostało również zagadnienie dotyczące roli, jaką pełni autorytet nauczyciela w procesie nauczania oraz uczenia uczniów. W niniejszym artykule omówiono w skrócie grupę osób badanych, miejsce badań, a także przyjęte na potrzeby prowadzonych badań: problem główny, hipotezy oraz zmienne. Ukazano, jakie znaczenie – zdaniem uczniów oraz rodziców – pełni autorytet nauczyciela, jakie cechy wpływają pozytywnie, a jakie negatywnie na jego posiadanie oraz jakie filary warunkują jego występowanie. Przytoczono cel badań dla uzyskania niezbędnych informacji dotyczących znaczenia autorytetu nauczyciela w badanym środowisku szkolnym oraz roli, jaką odgrywa on w procesie nauczania, jak i uczenia się poszczególnych uczniów. Ponadto przyjęty został problem główny, sformułowano także hipotezę główną oraz hipotezy szczegółowe. W podsumowaniu podano wnioski końcowe, wynikające z analizy przeprowadzonych badań.
    This article concerns the topic of the teacher as a role model, and presents the definition of this term based on the opinion of several different authors, and a studied group of people. This article addressed several types of "teacher as a role model" figures and further discusses the distinction, qualifications, and specific criteria of each category. Further, this article addresses the role of the teacher as a role model as it applies to the influence a teacher has in the teaching and learning process. This article shortly describes the group of studied people, the place of study, and the followings aspects adopted for the purposes of the conducted studies: the main problem, hypotheses and variables. Both pupils and parents’ views on the importance of the "teacher as a role model" have been shown, as well as the relation of positive and negative influence a teacher can have on the student body. The objective of the study was to gather necessary information about the importance of the teacher as a role model in the school environment, the role played by the role model in the teaching process, as well as its impact on the learning process of individual pupils. In addition to discussing the main problem, the main hypothesis and specific hypotheses have been formulated. Final conclusions that result from the analysis of the conducted studies have been described in the conclusion.

    Edukacja ma do odegrania kluczową rolę w budowaniu i zapewnieniu bezpiecznego świata dla ludzkości. Dzisiaj nabiera szczególnego znaczenia, gdyż przestrzeń, która dotąd była bezpieczna dla ludzi, przestała taką być. Naukowcy ogłaszają czerwony alarm dla Ziemi. Aby uniknąć najgorszego, trzeba podjąć nadzwyczajne, kryzysowe środki. Konieczna jest między innymi radykalna zmiana w edukacji. Jej nadrzędnym celem musi być ukształtowanie postawy młodego człowieka w poczuciu jedności z przyrodą, zdolnego do troski o inne byty pozaludzkie. W artykule przedstawiono dziesięć wskazówek, które powinny kształtować proces edukacyjny, jeżeli chcemy wychować pokolenie ludzi świadomych, empatycznych, zdolnych do podjęcia skutecznych działań w celu zażegnania kryzysu klimatycznego i środowiskowego.
    Education has a key role in building and ensuring a safe world for mankind. Today it takes on a special importance because we have moved beyond the safe space of action for humanity. Scientists are issuing a red alert for Earth. In order to avoid the worst, we have a duty to take extraordinary emergency measures. A necessary step is a radical change in education. Its overriding goal must be to shape the attitude of a young person in the sense of unity with nature, capable of caring for other nonhuman beings. In this article, I present ten tips that should be an integral part of the educational process if we want to educate a generation of people who are aware, empathetic, and able to take effective action to resolve the climate and environmental crisis.

    This text is an attempt at analysing civility, an undertaking practically absent from the contemporary pedagogical discourse though amply discussed within the humanities. The (re)construction of this concept aims to restore the importance of civility as a form of civilised life and to advocate for the need to acquire this quality through education. To this end, I review the history of the concept of civility (as a part of the civilising process) and then establish its relation to social mores and morality. Finally, I propose a contemporary understanding of civility within the public and private sphere and in its interpersonal and social roles and how these relate to each other. I assume that a reconstruction of the concept, including a portrayal of civility as a useful good and simultaneously a manifestation of human morality or the human condition in general, warrants the placement of civility among the internal goods of education.

    Coraz częściej podejmuje się inicjatywy, których celem jest zwrócenie społeczeństwu uwagi na starszą część populacji. W ten nurt wpisuje się także działalność katechetyczna Kościoła. Na katechezie podejmuje się bowiem problematykę starości i tak formuje uczniów, by szanowali osoby starsze, otoczyli je należną troską, a także zrozumieli i zaakceptowali ich sytuację życiową oraz potrzeby. Pomocą w realizacji tych zadań służą podręczniki do nauki religii, między innymi podręczniki z serii Drogi świadków Chrystusa. Podkreślają one istotną rolę starszej generacji w rodzinie i społeczeństwie i wzywają młodzież do odpowiedniego ich traktowania w duchu humanizmu i chrześcijańskiej miłości.
    More and more frequently initiatives aiming at paying society attention to the older people have been taken up. Church catechetical activity also writes itself into this course. During catechesis the old age issues are dealt with and pupils are educated this way so that they respect elderly people, take care of them properly as well as understand and accept their life conditions and needs. Textbooks for teaching religion, e. g. books like "The ways of Christ's witnesses" series, play supportive role in the realization of mentioned tasks. These handbooks underline the crucial way of elderly people generation in family and society calling the youth to proper treating them in the spirit of humanism and christian love.
    Più spesso si impegna nelle iniziative che richiamano l’attenzione dell’opinione pubblica alla parte più anziana della popolazione. Questa tendenza è presente anche nell’attività catechistica della Chiesa. La catechesi prende, infatti, i problemi della vecchiaia, e forma gli studenti così che loro possano rispettare gli anziani, dargli le dovute cure e comprendere ed accettare la loro situazione di vita e le loro esigenze. A tal scopo aiutano libri per l’insegnamento della religione, tra gli altri quelli di Vie dei testimoni del Cristo. Essi sottolineano il ruolo importante degli anziani nella famiglia e nella società e invitano i giovani di appropriarsi il loro trattamento nello spirito dell’umanesimo e dell’amore cristiano.
