This paper represents a socio-political process synthesis concerning integration in the US, as one of the first countries to experiment multicultural practices and realize a multiethnic consciousness, for overcoming the social discrimination. It explains how, in more than a century of social and political activism, has almost been impossible to eradicate completely the racism stronghold, creating a civic consciousness. At this point, can we think about racism phenomenon as a biological matter? Actually, as explained by R. Siebert (Siebert, 2001), the racism has grown up in the collective imaginary as something that belongs to the humans naturally. It is just a historical process of Modernity, appeared in the west territories. The US, as this paper highlights, are an example of how the racism is connected to the historical events.

Diversity management becomes more and more popular as a factor of the enterprise competitiveness’ increase. Diversity is present at any enterprise indeed, apart from its trade subordination or history. You can accomplish significant economic and social gains and make enterprise more successful - if you use and develop the diversity of its personnel. Purpose. This paper’s purpose is to determine the special role of diversity management in educational institutions and to work out the hypothesis of potential impact of diversity management in education in the state security. Methods. The following methods have been used in the paper: critical analysis of scientific sources and results of practical experience, structural-functional analysis, modeling, systematization (for the analysis of existing definitions of the "state security" concept), generalization. The statistical results of an empirical research of the inclusive environment management of educational institutions have been analyzed. Results. The countries of the post-Soviet space successfully adopt Western experience of diversity management, in particular, in educational institutions, - and it has become a common thing. Educational institutions in this aspect play a special role, because they function as a factor of social capital and future generation formation. They create a base for development of plenty of the organizations with diversity management, that will result in occurrence of more competitive organizations and improvement of labor quality. However, more global aspects of this problem have not been investigated enough. If enterprises with diversity management are more successful and competitive, than longer will such enterprises exist, more stable and successful the state as a whole will be. This possible influence of educational institutions’ diversity management on state security has not been analyzed enough.

The article is a direct outcome of a discourse aimed at exchanging experiences and views in the area of education and rehabilitation for people with disabilities in Poland and Hungary, undertaken as part of scientific cooperation between universities which deal with the issues of special education among others. The authors attempt to perform and present a comparative analysis of current academic solutions for students with disabilities in both countries. Similarities and differences in the solutions discussed, especially problematic areas currently showing in the educational systems, constitute the basis for further discussion and research aimed at developing best practices that would ensure quality education for children and adolescents with disabilities.

The purpose of the article is to emphasise the importance of the concept of empowerment in the process of individual understanding of the category of resources by the students of social rehabilitation, in the context of “creative potentials”, “life orientation”, with confrontation with persons who are marginalised, excluded, under social pressure, by stimulating their defensive abilities, capability to take a risk of stigma management, creating constructive social independence and a new quality of life. The subject of descriptive literature analysis, however, is a reflection on the shape of non-obvious social rehabilitation students’ competence in terms of their professional functioning in the area of inclusion/exclusion. The indicated dimensions of the issue determine a starting point for a pedagogical confrontation with real day-to-day influences in the contemporary academic area as well as in the context of social rehabilitation practice. The conducted analysis indicates the need to elaborate a concept of the subject which would enable future pedagogues to have a look at the “Others”, not only through the prism of their own understanding, but above all in the dialectic perspective of becoming the subject.

Ważnym problemem współczesnej ukraińskiej nauki jest nauczanie dzieci ze specjalnymi potrzebami edukacyjnymi w szkole ogólnodostępnej. Głównym mottem szkoły jest dostępność i równość szans edukacyjnych w celu uzyskania dobrego wykształcenia dla wszystkich dzieci. Włączenie uczniów ze specjalnymi potrzebami edukacyjnymi do zespołu klasy oraz wspólnoty szkoły wymaga od dyrekcji i nauczycieli stworzenia odpowiedniego środowiska edukacyjno-wychowawczego oraz organizacji niezbędnych warunków do integracji uczniów ze specjalnymi potrzebami edukacyjnymi. Na podstawie literatury ukraińskiej w artykule zostały zdefiniowane pojęcia „integracji” i „inkluzji” jako współczesne formy nauczania dzieci ze specjalnymi potrzebami edukacyjnymi. W artykule zostały opisane także zmiany, jakie dokonują się obecnie w szkolnym systemie, naświetlony stan obecny wdrażania edukacji inkluzyjnej na Ukrainie oraz problemy, z którymi borykają się szkoły.
An important issue of modern Ukrainian pedagogical science is the education of children with special educational needs in a comprehensive school. The main slogan of such a school is the accessibility and equality of educational opportunities. The goal is to provide a good education. The insertion of students with special educational needs in the classes and school community requires that the administration and teachers create an appropriate educational environment. They have to create the conditions for the full integration of such students. Referring to the research of Ukrainian scientific literature, the arti- cle reveals the concept of integration and inclusion as modern forms of teaching children with special educational needs. The article raises the following issues: the changes in the school system, the ways inclu- sive education is implemented in Ukraine, and the problems that Ukrainian schools face.

W artykule dokonano analizy działalności polskich uczelni wyższych na rzecz stwarzania studentom z niepełnosprawnościami warunków do pełnego udziału w procesie kształcenia, a także scharakteryzowano podejmowane w tym zakresie zadania w odniesieniu do: samych studentów z niepełnosprawnością, kadry akademickiej, wspólnoty studenckiej oraz otoczenia fizycznego. Przedstawiono w zarysie dotychczasowe doświadczenia oraz obecne wyzwania w dziedzinie dostosowywania kształcenia akademickiego do potrzeb osób z różnego rodzaju niepełnosprawnościami.
The article analyzes the activities of Polish institutions of higher education to create conditions of full participation in the educational process for students with disabilities and also describes the tasks undertaken in this regard in relation to: the students with disabilities, academic staff, student community and the physical environment. It outlines previous experiences and current challenges in the field of adaptation of the academic education to the needs of people with different types of disabilities.

Edukacja włączająca jest efektem zmian społeczno-edukacyjnych ukierunkowanych na poprawę jakości kształcenia w nurcie humanizmu i egalitaryzmu społecznego. Jest to możliwe tylko wtedy, gdy ta idea będzie rozumiana i wdrażana z refleksją, zrozumieniem, akceptacją i zaangażowaniem wszystkich podmiotów edukacji: nauczycieli, rodziców i uczniów. W skrajnym przypadku może ona być przestrzenią zmian niekorzystnych, które zamiast włączać i integrować mogą wykluczać i marginalizować ucznia. Celem artykułu jest pokazanie szeregu czynników warunkujących obie prognozy rozwoju edukacji włączającej: optymistyczną i pesymistyczną.
Inclusive education is the effect of socio-educational changes aimed at improving the qualityof education in the area of humanism and social egalitarianism. That is possible only whensuch an idea is understood and implemented with the reflection, understanding, acceptance andinvolvement of all education parties: teachers, parents and students. In the extreme case, it canbecome a space of unfavorable changes, which, instead of including and integrating, can excludeand marginalize the student. The aim of the following article is to present a number of factors conditioningboth forecasts of the inclusive education development: optimistic and pessimistic.

Aim: The text focuses on the development of emotional and social literacy in the educational process. Theoretically, it tries to capture one of the possibilities of natural support for inclusive thinking. It introduces which books for children’s listeners and readers facilitate understanding of their own emotions, build a sense of belonging and acceptance in preschool and younger school-age children, and which are suitable for working with children at the beginning of school. Methods: The qualitative research investigation was conducted in two phases. The data have been collected through the text analysis of children’s books, the participant observation of educational activities (lessons) with selected books in kindergartens and primary schools, and the semi-structured interviews with teachers. 23 books were included in the second phase of the study and 47 teachers were observed and interviewed. Results: Attention was focused on establishing criteria for selecting suitable books, their practical verification and the final selection of books in the Czech language (the original title is also given). The article presents 16 titles that can stimulate an inclusive mindset. Conclusions: The purpose of the text is to lead to an understanding of the importance of storybooks for children and teachers. It seeks to encourage and help teachers to develop the educational area of emotional and social skills by presenting specific titles from which to draw, thus entering the world of emotions.

Introduction: In June 2023, the pilot program for implementing the first Specialist Inclusive Education Support Centers into the Polish educational practice concluded. The authors conducted evaluative research within the Specialist Inclusive Education Support Centers (SIESCs) in Łódź, Poland. Research Aim: The purpose of the research aim was to evaluate the support provided to teachers in mainstream educational institutions, and the purpose of the article was to show the experience of conducting functional assessment in recognizing the diverse needs of students. Method: The research method employed was focused group interviews with teachers and school principals, along with content analysis of the opinions expressed by participants in the self-study network. Results: The research results are their selected statements, evaluating against different areas of support, the experience of using school functional assessment. Conclusions: The conclusions of the research confirm teachers’ concerns about functional assessment, perceived as a new form of educational diagnosis, but also highlight significant needs in this area arising from the inclusive approach in the Polish education system. The staff of special schools serving as SIESCs, can be instrumental in implementing the functional assessment process for inclusion purposes.
Wprowadzenie: W czerwcu 2023 r. zakończono w Polsce program pilotażowy wdrożenia do praktyki oświatowej pierwszych Specjalistycznych Centrów Wspierających Edukację Włączającą (SCWEW). Autorki podjęły badania ewaluacyjne w SCWEW w Łodzi. Cel badań: ocena wsparcia udzielanego nauczycielom placówek ogólnodostępnych, a celem artykułu ukazanie doświadczeń związanych z prowadzeniem oceny funkcjonalnej w rozpoznawaniu zróżnicowanych potrzeb uczniów. Metoda badań: Zogniskowany wywiad grupowy (Focus Group Interview) z nauczycielami dyrektorami oraz analiza treści wypowiedzi uczestników sieci samokształcenia. Wyniki: to ich wybrane wypowiedzi, oceniające na tle różnych obszarów wsparcia, doświadczenia związane z zastosowaniem szkolnej oceny funkcjonalnej. Wnioski: potwierdzają obawy nauczycieli przed oceną funkcjonalną, postrzeganą jak nowa forma diagnozy edukacyjnej, ale także wskazują na duże potrzeby w tym zakresie wynikające z podejścia włączającego w polskiej szkole. Kadra szkół specjalnych pełniących rolę SCWEW, może być pomocna w implementacji procesu oceny funkcjonalnej dla celów inkluzji.

Technologie wspomagające w edukacji dzieci i młodzieży z niepełnosprawnością wzroku stają się coraz powszechniejsze. Pomimo ograniczonych danych na temat ich efektywności, w literaturze można znaleźć informacje, że pozytywnie oddziałują na dostęp do informacji. Odpowiednio dobrane i zaimplementowane rozwiązania mają jednak szersze znaczenie, wykraczające poza dostęp do materiałów edukacyjnych. Mogą one wzbogacić integrację społeczną, umożliwiając wszystkim zainteresowanym interakcję w formalnych i nieformalnych sytuacjach komunikacyjnych.
Assistive technology has been present in the educational setting of children with visual impairments for years. Although there is still shortage of solid data that proves its validity, literature informs about the increased access to information among children with disabilities. The effective selection and implementation of assistive solutions has a broader meaning apart from giving access to learning aids. It can also support social inclusion by offering tools that allow for unimpaired interactions in a variety of formal and informal communication situations.

The growing importance of the knowledge based economy, globalization, ageing population, urbanization and the evolution of social structures all these are accelerating the pace of change in the labor market and in the field of required skills. To fully exploit the potential for economic recovery, strategies for education, training and employment are playing an important role which should focus on increasing and adapting skills and improve training opportunities at all levels, to promote highly skilled workforce and caring to economy’s needs and facilitate youth access to the labor market.
