Opis:
This paper makes the attempt to highlight the role played in contemporary education by the notion of post-truth and the influence played in that matter by anti-intellectual tendencies. This issue seems to be imperious in the face of transformation tendencies of the schooling systems and the influence exerted by the world of politics in that context. This text reconstructs the most important aspects of the anti-intellectual stance, treating it as a specific phenomenon of a cultural nature. Furthermore, the emerging issue of post-education is addressed as it accompanies the anti-intellectual tendencies and strengthens their impact on the schooling level. Both issues are in a clear cause-and-effect relation to the phenomenon of post-truth.

Opis:
The issue of algorithmic management is constituted by an array of conditions, socio-cultural and economic ones seeming to be the most important today. This article explores selected aspects and phenomena related to creativity, innovation and labor in the age of digital technologies and the domination of algorithms. The key problem in this case is the digitalization of labor, a phenomenon which also affects the creative processes and innovation. The notion of creativity shifts today towards a specific model of labor, based on and conditioned by the use of digital tools and often managed by machines, i.e. algorithms. Algorithmic labor is considered here as a social and cultural problem. The text investigates selected effects of these tendencies and highlights the important emerging issues, like the culture of incompetence for example. The outcome of this research might be used not just to improve the digital solutions in that regard, but rather to recompose the significant ideas that constitute the reflection on human agency in general.

Opis:
The concept of race seems to be, despite the efforts of various political movements of 1960’s still present in the public life and education in the Unites States. Contemporary educational debates in America in most cases tackle this problem through the lenses of a specific research approach which takes the concept of race as granted, when examining social relations in the American society. This approach, generally called Critical Race Theory (CRT) had been established in the late 1980’s, but its theoretical, methodological and political roots go back to the decade of the Vietnam War and the assassination of Martin Luther King or even further. This paper makes an attempt to deliver a closer look at the CRT and to highlight its most important assumptions and forms of political actions undertaken within the common frame of the racial concept. The Boasian tradition in the American way of conceptualization of race is an important factor in this debate. The past and present educational debates in the USA prove the fact that the idea of race is undergoing nowadays an intensive shift from its biological basis towards economic and social differences making the new conflicts even more visible in the American political landscape today.
