- Sustainable development when understood as a process of social, economic and environmental change that ensures a balance between profit and development costs, is a kind of ethical project. The fundamental assumption behind the implementation of the idea of sustainable development is, therefore, the awareness of holding responsibility both in the context of actions of whole companies as well as individuals. The issue of responsibility covers many aspects and problems, hence, it is worth considering the concept of responsibility in its theoretical and practical dimension. The aim of this article is to present selected philosophical concepts of understanding responsibility.
