Wzgorza Sokolskie - Opis:
- The Kamienna River valley is situated in the Sokólskie Hills region and flows into the Upper Biebrza Basin. Three parts of various origins were distinguished in the valley. The upper part was originated as the denudation valley. In the middle part, the river flows through a melt-out depresion. The lower part of the studied valley is an overspilling ravine. There is a visible difference in the distribution and the types of bottom deposits in the individual parts of the valley. Deluvia predominate in the upper part of the valley and the middle part is filled up with deluvia, muck-peat soils-and locally peat. The lower part of the valley is filled up with alluvial and peat deposits. Similar regularities in bottom deposits distribution can be found in other small river valleys in the studied region, e.g. in the Upper Biebrza River valley and in the Olszanka River valley. The bottom deposits of the Kamienna River valley were originated mainly in the Holocene.
