    The aim of the article is to identify the reasons for low employment rates of people with disabilities in Poland, and to examine whether employers, disabled employees and other staff want to talk about the rational use of the rights of a disabled employee and what views, opinions or other circumstances can make it difficult. Four hypotheses were formulated in the work, which were verified on the basis of surveys and interviews conducted in the period from March to September 2017 in the Voivodship of Silesia. The considerations were rounded off with conclusions and comments.

    The aim of this paper is to present the grants to employment as the instruments stimulating employment of people with disabilities in the sheltered workshop in Poland in the years 2008-2013. The authoress verifies the effectiveness of these instruments in the employment growth in the sheltered workshops. This tool occurred to be effective in the case of persons with moderate and considerable disability. In the case of persons with light disability, it caused a decrease of their employment.

    The presented material is a concise report of research carried out on the conditions of isolation of people with disabilities. This article highlights the influence of the selected factors on disabled people remaining isolated or escaping from solitude. The collected research material consists of biographical studies of selected cases.

    Opis:
    The article raises the issue of research in artistic expression and creativity used in therapy. Such research requires an interdisciplinary approach combining the humanities (art studies) and the social studies (pedagogy, psychology, sociology), which causes issues with implementing a consistent research perspective. The author points out a few issues, called “sensitive areas”, and analyses them in relation to the disabled people theatre. These are: the presentation status of such groups, the dangers of subjectivism or the necessity of implementing the qualitative research model, the methods of research documentation.

    Opis:
    The issues of eugenics, although they clearly emerged as late as in the second half of the nineteenth century, was not unknown to humanity in the distant ancient times. From the moment when F. Galton consolidated the theses currently recognized as eugenics, simultaneously introducing the concepts of “eugenics” and “eugenic”, eugenics very quickly found its supporters around the world. Its exceptional exemplification and development was noted in the first half of the twentieth century, which absolutely does not mean that it does not exist nowadays in a different form, using other methods of control and elimination of imperfections of the Homo Sapiens species, as well as undesirable social phenomena. This includes activities not only aimed at prevention, diagnosis or therapy of individual and civilization problems, but are also more radical ones, such as abortion carried out for eugenic purposes. Thus, the content of the article not only discusses eugenic issues in the theoretical context, but also presents opinions of selected groups of people with disabilities,participating in the implementation of the project entitled: “Implementation of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, a Common Matter”, conducted in Poland in 2016–2018, concerning the proposal to introduce a total ban on eugenic abortion into Polish legislation.

    Disability does not exclude people from normal perception of the world, from expressing their wishes, needs and desires. The respondents in the author’s research are only a small part of people with disabilities, they want to compete, participate in competitions and achieve their small and great successes. In fact, in sport of people with disabilities there are no winners or losers – everyone does something for themselves, something great by overcoming their weaknesses, becoming open to other people, fighting the stereotypes that people with disabilities should not actively participate in social life. These people increasingly want to take part in life without any limits or barrier bans, and sport is an ideal form of breaking the barriers and eliminating social exclusion of people with disabilities.
    Niepełnosprawność nie wyklucza ludzi z normalnego postrzegania świata, z wyrażania swoich chęci, potrzeb oraz pragnień. Ankietowani w moich badaniach są tylko niewielką częścią osób z niepełnosprawnością, chcą oni rywalizować, jeździć na zawody, mieć swoje małe i duże sukcesy, bo tak naprawdę, w sporcie osób niepełnosprawnych, nie ma wygranych i przegranych, każdy robi coś dla siebie, coś wielkiego pokonując swoje słabości, wychodząc do ludzi, walcząc ze stereotypami, iż osoby z niepełnosprawnością nie powinny brać czynnego udziału w życiu społecznym. Nic bardziej mylnego, ci ludzie coraz częściej chcą uczestniczyć w życiu bez żadnych ograniczeń, barier czy zakazów, a sport jest idealną formą przełamywania barier i niwelowania wykluczenia społecznego przez osoby z niepełnosprawnością.

    Turystyka dostępna pozwala osobom niepełnosprawnym na samodzielne, sprawiedliwe i godne funkcjonowanie podczas podróżowania. Jest to możliwe dzięki dostarczeniu im odpowiednich produktów turystycznych, usług i środowiska. Jednakże proces kreowania produktów dla potrzeb osób z dysfunkcjami jest czaso- i kosztochłonny (gdyż wymaga likwidowania barier) i charakteryzuje się swoistymi zasadami. Artykuł prezentuje proces kreowania produktów turystycznych powstających z myślą o osobach niepełnosprawnych, o różnym rodzaju i stopniu schorzenia. Przybliżono również terminologię niepełnosprawności oraz segmentacji rynku turystycznego, który odpowiada na potrzeby osób z dysfunkcjami.
    Accessible tourism allows people with disabilities to independent, fair and decent functioning while traveling. This is made possible by providing them with dedicated tourism products, services, as well as background. However, the process of creating products tailored to the needs of people with disabilities is both time and money consuming, because it requires breaking down barriers, but above all it is characterized by its own rules. The paper presents the process of creating tourism products for people with disabilities of various type and degree of disability, explains the term of disability and the segmentation of the tourism market, which responds to the needs of people with disabilities.

    The article concerns the analysis of elimination of technical barriers for people with physical disabilities in one of the social welfare homes in the Silesian voivodeship. The following paper presents original projects created by the staff of nursing home: table for consumption and telephone booth. These solutions influence on improving the ergonomics of everyday consumption for both the physically disabled residents and their attendants, and comfortable and intimate telephone conversation with relatives on the property. This projects have been carried out on the premises of the institution by its workers.

    W literaturze dziecięcej i książkach dla dzieci nieczęsto podejmowana jest tematyka niepełnosprawności, choć obrazowanie bohaterów o niepełnej sprawności jest ważne zarówno z perspektywy odbiorcy bez dysfunkcji, jak i doświadczającego utrudnień w funkcjonowaniu psychofizycznym. Tymczasem zauważa się, że wiele negatywnych stereotypów jest utrwalanych poprzez przekaz literacki. Celem artykułu jest wydobycie tekstów kultury, które podejmują temat niepełnosprawności, ale nie ograniczają się jedynie do pełnienia funkcji służebnej względem społecznych prointegracyjnych potrzeb, lecz proporcjonalnie łączą walory etyczne i estetyczne.
    Disability and children with disabilities are rarely included in children’s literature. Depicting characters with special needs is important because of the process of social inclusion – for children without dysfunctions and for those with some problems in psychophysical functioning. But there are often a lot of stereotypes in literary texts. The aim of this paper is to show cultural textswhich present disability and join ethical and aesthetical values at the same playing field.
