The article discusses selected aspects of the philosophy of dialog, and then makes relations between them and the theory and practice of coaching. The platform which significantly bridges the two approaches is the perspective of encounter and the dialogical relation, which come into play in the interpersonal I and You relation (coach – client) and the resultant experience, conditions and consequences. Empathy is one of the possible efficient tools of dialog. It is a criterion for a genuine encounter that is one of the assumptions of the philosophy dialog.

Opis:
Dialogue is one of the fundamental human relationships. It is also of particular importance in the life of the Church. The article tries to answer the question whether catechesis is a space for dialogue. It first shows the dialogue of salvation as a relationship between God and man. Then it presents the relationship of the Church to the world, which is a relationship of dialogue. Since catechesis is at the service of God’s dialogue of salvation and is an ecclesial ministry, it is therefore also dialogical. There is, however, a specificity of this dialogue, which is based on the spirituality of dialogue. This vision of catechesis is contained in the new Vatican Directory for Catechesis, which describes it as a „laboratory for dialogue”.

Opis:
This text covers a wide range of problems in social relationships. In the Author's opinion, a present social reality doesn't allow deeper contacts between people. Current understanding of the concept of the dialogue, reduces it to negotiations or communication acts. But none of them isn't a suitable substitute of the dialogue with its richness of a sense. The present time is characterized by superficiality of relationships in societies. Instead of the dialogue, we deal with only quasirelationship. People haven't lost ability of reflective and critical reception of their life and they can't feel existence of others as someone important, unique and indispensable for a proper and authentic meeting. In the dialogue, everybody shapes a meeting as momentous event. Different understanding of the depth this concept, can lead up to reduction of relationships in modern society. Misinterpretation of the dialogue concept makes our life common, mediocre, trashy. The article analyzes a moral condition of modern society and points at possible and existing threats in a field range of people's relationships.

The article aims to show the innovative role of dialogue in the education of sustainable development. The method of didactic dialogue building a community is based on directives taken from hermeneutic and personalistic pedagogy. The translation of the obtained directives into the praxeological plane gives it an empirically verifiable dimension. Such a dialogue takes on a completely new form, referring to the implementation of the goals of sustainable development in interpersonal interaction and responsibility. This dialogue creates a network of connections and interpersonal influences, thus creating the principle of coexistence based on the process of awareness. In the field of early childhood education, it is a didactic method influencing the young generation, giving sowing its impact on the macro scale, that is society.

Jeżeli chodzi o grupę badawczą, to respondenci zostali dobrani losowo wśród słuchaczy studiów podyplomowych, na kierunku oświata i zarządzanie w oświacie w Akademii Ignatianum w Krakowie.
The subject of this study is dialogue at school. The theoretical aim is to show dialogue at school on the basis of literature on the subject, and the practical goal is to show how current and future school directors perceive the essence of dialogue. The qualitative research strategy was used, with the choice of method being the group interview. In terms of the research group, the respondents were chosen randomly from among postgraduate students, in the field of education and management in the Jesuit University of Philosophy and Education Ignatianum in Krakow. These included current and potentially future school headmasters. As part of this article, the essence of dialogue and contemporary threats resulting from the conditions of modern life are presented. The author attempts to characterize the contemporary Polish compulsory school in the context of undertaking a dialogue. This article also presents the analysis and conclusions of their own research, including conclusions for further educational practice. These include the following suggestions: continuous improvement of communication skills among teachers and other subjects of school life; learning about our own emotions and attitudes that condition dialogue and work on them; pay closer attention to the benefits of dialogue within educational institutions – developing appropriate strategies and adopting philosophies/discourses in order to improve and maintain dialogue; organization of free dialogue workshops throughout the country in order to increase the culture of dialogue of the Polish nation; taking into account the need to adapt the dialogue to the interlocutor, including people from foreign countries.

The paper presents theoretical considerations on the role of dialogue in ICC development and assessment and the model for ICC assessment as a practical application. It is argued here that the application of the idea of dialogue in a Bakhtinian sense may constitute a theoretical framework for ICC assessment since this kind of dialogue involves the presentation of a variety of opinions or ideas. The model for ICC assessment, as it was developed for the purpose of the author’s unpublished PhD dissertation, is presented in this paper. The model includes various types of tests that can be incorporated into ICC evaluation. The final part of the discussion attempts at showing the points of convergence between DA approach and the dialogic approach to ICC assessment.

The author of the article presents the concept of experience and experiencing in the field of Polonistic education. According to the scholar, Hans¬ Georg Gadamer’s philosophical her-meneutics can serve as an inspiring context in research and educational work of a teacher. Gadamer’s hermeneutics has been one of the influential ideas in philosophy and social sci-ences in recent years. The type of experience presented by the philosopher, that is more like a meeting, a talk than only a live stream, and whose task is to activate and rationalize what is primary in the process of common experiencing the world, can be used in school education in many ways.

Walter Kohan has recently observed that Socrates does not seem particularly interested in the opinions of his interlocutors. Consequently, the philosopher is not really involved in a peer to peer relation with them, but rather embarks upon the task of annihilating their ideas. With the situation being as it is, the image of Socrates as a champion of dialogue begins to wobble. While the present paper aims to discuss these claims, a number of issues needs to be accounted for. First of all, the Socratic dialogue does begin in a characteristically symmetrical way, but it becomes more and more asymmetric as the elenchos begins to appear. This is due to the fact the elenchos makes the interlocutors defensive, whereas Socrates can attack freely. Given that, Kohan’s claims seem justified and enlightening, but they should not be regarded as conclusive, since one must neither forget nor undervalue how innovative it was to replace monologue speeches with one-to-one dialogues which offered the opportunity of being involved in unforeseeable conversations.

Dialogue is a necessary way of inhabiting a shared world. However, the concept of dialogue at present has become ambiguous and often abused. The purpose of this article is to introduce order into this conceptual ambiguity. Ferdinand de Saussure distinguished language (langue) from speech (parole), and following him, Paul Ricoeur wrote about discourse of the event. Here different concepts of dialogue begin. Dialogue understood as the communication, in which the accent is located in the discourse, argumentation serving to elaborate a consensus of action taken and dialogue understood as a meeting of persons. Two first concepts of dialogue are found in Jürgen Habermas’ communication theory and in Ricoeur’s dialogue led in the form of ‘hospitality lent by language’. If the essence of communication theory of Habermas is a discourse, then the essence of Ricoeur’s ‘hospitality lent by language’ is an understanding of others. The essence of the third concept of dialogue, also called the meeting, developed by twentieth-century philosophy of dialogue, are presence and love. There is also a fourth form of dialogue introduced by Georg Simmel, constituting a priori foundations of social life. For him a function or a social role is the centre. However, we can also find the fifth form of dialogue in dialogical hermeneutics of Hans Georg Gadamer, trying to combine the discursive and personal dimensions. For him the centre is both the presence of other, as well as the truth happening in dialogue. All these conceptions of dialogue have important significance for pedagogy.

At the most fundamental level of analysis one may speak of educating as the act of someone saying and showing something to another in a way that leads the mind from where it is to where it might be, in the process widening horizons and fashioning habits of thought that make it possible for students to participate in the conversation that is their culture. The student stands to this conversation not only as learner but as initiate. Students appropriate habits, ideas, and questions that have their origin in the world of the ancients while the overriding imperative of the learning process is to take the conversation further in some respect and to find their voice within it. In what sense, however, is conversation the heart and soul of education, and what is the nature and role of listening in education so conceived? At a time when qualitative matters place a distant second to quantifiables such as test scores, information retention, and marketable credentials, it falls to education theorists to remind us of what philosophers since ancient times have in one fashion or another maintained: that this practice has an identifiable orientation and purpose that transcends the order of the utilitarian.

The reader is invited in a covert partnership with his communication peer (the author–the producer) in their joint journey to the own polyphonic, unidentifiable, mutational ego. The relation to the self, as permanently disputed by otherness, finds its artistic application through the comic as the most powerful weapon against the Form, both in the field of the author and of the recipient.

The aim of the article is to discuss the direction of activities of the contemporary model of education, including elementary education, where the process of inclusion plays an important role. The analysis is based on the contemporary pedagogical scientific literature and recommendations of education policy. The starting point for the considerations is that inclusion is the basis of the concept of “Education for All”. The special attention has been paid to the essence of the development of education according to Thomas Kuhn. In his considerations the importance of language and meanings at all has been emphasized. From this perspective, the roles of both seemed to be a legitimate reference point for the inclusion process. Moreover, the plans for the exchange of ideas and activities have been also indicated in the study.

The article deals with the problem of authority in the fundamental aspects of the philosophy of dialogue, which in the I-You relationship acquires a specific meaning. The dialogical plane emphasizes the tension between the subjects, showing the dynamics of the meeting as well as its specific movement and variability. The concept of Martin Buber and Józef Tischner was recalled, opening a new discourse on the fundamental role, meaning and sense of authority today. Buber says that the dialogue itself appears as relation of beings, while Tischner shows the meeting as an event in which the agathological horizon of good and evil is present, which in both concepts puts a new light on the problem of authority. Authority not only internally assumes turning “to” someone/ the Other, but also assumes being “for” someone/ the Other and towards someone/ the Other.

In the process of mediation, dialogue between the parties is one of the major elements. Thanks to dialogue carried out between the parties, with the support of an impartial and neutral mediator who is not engaged in the conflict, the parties may view the conflict from another perspective and try to solve it, opening to the needs of the other party at the same time. For that to be possible the dialogue must be based on respect to other people, recognition for the other party and non-prejudiced approach. The essence of a dialogue between people is to understand the point of view of another person. Thanks to the dialogue, the parties may not only solve the current conflict but also maintain and improve mutual relations, which is particularly important in mediation related to family affairs or business affairs. Additionally, mediation in a multicultural environment requires consideration of cultural differences which determine the style of communication between people and the method of solving conflicts. The mediator should, therefore, possess broad cultural competencies, including cultural sensitivity, which may be used in a mediation meeting with people stemming out of various cultures. Thanks to the adequate climate of understanding created by the mediator, taking into account such cultural differences and contributing to a constructive dialogue between the parties, a chance for achieving the basic goal of mediation – a mutually satisfactory agreement – is growing.
