Opis:
The article deals primarily with the concept of pleasure in Jean-Luc Nancy’s thought. It occurs in many texts by the philosopher and connects with key concepts of his deconstructive project: the body, relational ontology and the writing. For Nancy, pleasure is, among other things, a particular somatic experience, the effect of peculiar writing practice, and finally, the experience of non-identity of a singular plural subject. The distinctive feature of pleasure (in various conceptualizations) is the opening that it makes every time, which Nancy derives from his deconstructive considerations on the works of Freud, Kant and Barthes. In the thesis, Nancy’s revised concept of pleasure as an opening is also referenced to Derrida’s thought in order to analyse the general relations between pleasure and deconstruction and to consider how deconstruction can be a source of pleasure.

The article is a critical reading of Jacques Derrida’s Spectres of Marx. Apart from presenting the Eagleton's and Negri’s critical interpretations and philosophical unproductiveness of Derrida's proposals, I also try to show their inability to fulfill the ethical and political promises, which they makes.

In this context Vladimir Sorokin's texts make their mark – for many of them the deconstruction of literary tradition and hermeneutics is a defining category.

The article “Pan Podstoli”: Interspecific Oscillation of the Text is a polemic on the text of Piotr Żbikowski’s The Origins of the Polish Novel, i.e. the Genological Structure of “Pan Podstoli”, in which the author tries to prove that the work of Krasicki is not a novel, but a mirror. Żbikowski is fundamentally right, but his powerful argument is not fully convincing, insofar as it does not cover the entirety of Krasicki’s text. In my article I try to show that in “Pan Podstoli” there are fragments that escape the logic of the mirror, and which perfectly implement the logic of the novel. In this respect the earlier findings of researchers demonstrating the hybrid nature of the work remain valid, but my own contribution shows that this hybrid is internally different

Opis:
Focusing on the first couple of verses in Genesis (Gen 1–2:4), one can discover its amazingly performative character. The Word of God is creative and has effective power; it can be subject to the analysis of performative utterances by Austin, which seems to stress its significant character. Reading this text in light of deconstruction theory by Derrida leads us onto the path of fully performative interpretation of culture texts. Of course it is just an attempt, which is a little far-fetched but it still remains interesting and scientifically stimulating.

The article is devoted to the presentation and analysis of the aesthetics of the forms and structures of several selected realisations in Polish architecture, which represent a very elitist trend called Deconstruction. This trend appeared in world architecture mainly at the beginning of the 1980s. It arrived in Poland with a long delay of several decades, as it was only in the 2nd decade of the 21st century that several new cultural objects were realised. After outlining the most important features of this trend, the author analysed and discussed the following selected examples based on an analysis of realisations in Western Europe and the USA: the Fire Museum in Żory (opened in 2014), the Jordanki Cultural and Congress Centre in Toruń (opened in 2015) and the Museum of the World War II in Gdańsk (opened in 2017). In each realisation, as can be observed in the examples of well-known Western creators, the individual philosophy of the architects is important. The article presents the statements of the creators of these buildings. The author also pointed out that at the end of the 1990s, individual realisations of detached houses, private production workshops and interiors appeared in our country as part of this trend. In each case, the aesthetic analysis of these works showed that the selected buildings are representative of the discussed trend, implementing its avant-garde premises, depicting the emotions and moods of deconstruction.
Artykuł poświęcono przedstawieniu i analizie estetyki form i struktur kilku wybranych realizacji w polskiej architekturze, które reprezentują bardzo elitarny nurt zwany dekonstrukcją. Ten kierunek pojawił się w światowej architekturze głównie na początku lat 80. XX w. Do Polski dotarł z dużym, bo kilkudziesięcioletnim opóźnieniem, albowiem dopiero w drugiej dekadzie XXI w. zostało zrealizowanych kilka nowych obiektów kultury. Po nakreśleniu najważniejszych cech tego nurtu, na podstawie analizy realizacji w Europie Zachodniej i w USA autorka artykułu omówiła wybrane przykłady: Muzeum Ognia w Żorach (otwarte w 2014 r.), Centrum Kulturalno-Kongresowe Jordanki w Toruniu (otwarte w 2015 r.) oraz Muzeum II Wojny Światowej w Gdańsku (otwarte w 2017 r.). W każdej realizacji, podobnie jak obserwować to można w przykładach znanych zachodnich twórców, istotna jest indywidualna filozofia architektów – autorów tych realizacji. W artykule przedstawione zostały wypowiedzi twórców tych obiektów. Autorka zwróciła także uwagę, że z końcem lat 90. XX w. pojawiły się w naszym kraju w ramach tego nurtu pojedyncze realizacje domów jednorodzinnych, prywatnych warsztatów produkcyjnych oraz wnętrz. W każdym wypadku analiza estetyczna tych dzieł wykazała, że wybrane obiekty są reprezentatywne dla omawianego nurtu, realizują jego awangardowe hasła, obrazujące emocje i nastroje dekonstrukcji.

Artykuł omawia podejście do tekstu i procesu interpretacji, z jakim mamy do czynienia na gruncie hermeneutyki ponowoczesnej (radykalnej). Rozpoczyna go omówienie pojęcia tekstu wypracowanego przez Hansa-Georga Gadamera, które następnie zderzone zostaje z krytyką, jaką poddał hermeneutyce Jacques Derrida. Po rekapitulacji obu stanowisk zauważone zostaje jednak pewne niespodziewane podobieństwo pomiędzy Gadamerowskimi a Derridiańskimi przeświadczeniami na temat „ontologii” dzieła literackiego i „natury” procesu interpretacji. Hermeneutyka ponowoczesna z jednej strony podobieństwo to dostrzega, z drugiej zaś – stara się potraktować „lekcję dekonstrukcji” serio, zwracając baczniejszą uwagę na tekstualność tekstu, jego śladowość, nieskończoną grę znaczeń, która uniemożliwia zakończenie, scałościowanie, spełnienie jakichkolwiek zabiegów hermeneutycznych. Trzymanie się blisko tekstu na gruncie hermeneutyki ponowoczesnej polega więc na swoistym „śledzeniu śladów” – podążaniu za znaczeniorodną grą tekstu i dopisywaniu do niej twórczej kontrsygnatury czytelniczej. W zakończeniu artykułu zaproponowana zostaje metafora „dotkliwości” jako pojęcia trafnie oddającego radykalnohermeneutyczną relację z tekstem.
The article discusses the approach to the text and the process of interpretation which we encounter in postmodern (radical) hermeneutics. It begins with a discussion ofthe concept of the text developed by Hans-Georg Gadamer, which is then confronted with the critique applied to hermeneutics by Jacques Derrida. After the recapitulation of both positions, an unexpected similarity is observed between the Gadamerian and Derridean teachings on the theme of the “ontology” of the literary work and the “nature” of the process of interpretation. Postmodern hermeneutics, on the one hand, perceives this similarity, while, on the other, it attempts to treat the “lesson of deconstruction” seriously, turning more watchful attention to the text’s textuality, its trace aspect, the infinite play of meanings that renders impossible the conclusion, completion, unification or fulfilment of any hermeneutic procedures. Keeping close to the text based on postmodern hermeneutics thus involves a kind of “tracing the traces” – a pursuit of the meaning-generating play of the text and additional inscription in it of the reader’s creative counter-signature. At the end of the article, the metaphor of “painfulness” or arduousness is proposed as a concept that aptly conveys the relations of radical hermeneutics with the text.

Tematem tego artykułu jest porównanie filozofii postmodernistycznej i filozofii różnicy, zwłaszcza w jej najnowszej wersji, jaką stanowi dekonstrukcja filozoficzna. W pierwszej części pracy została przedstawiona zwięźle historia i ogólna charakterystyka postmodernizmu, w drugiej części zaprezentowana została filozofia różnicy, nie tylko w jej obecnej postaci, ale również we wcześniejszych wersjach, do których zaliczyć trzeba: „inne myślenie” Martina Heideggera, idealizm niemiecki, myśl presokratejską, a wreszcie filozofię starożytnych Indii. W przeciwieństwie do postmodernistów, których finalnie łączy niemal wyłącznie krytyka metafizyki i literacki styl wypowiedzi, teoretycy różnicy pozostają przedstawicielami tradycyjnego (choć dziś w dużej mierze zapomnianego) rozumienia filozofii.   
The subject of this article is a comparison between postmodern philosophy and philosophy of difference, especially in its most recent version, which is philosophical deconstruction. In the first part of the paper, the history and general characteristics of postmodernism are briefly presented, while the second part discusses the philosophy of difference, not only in its present form, but also in its earlier versions, which include Martin Heidegger's “different thinking”, German idealism, Presocratic thought, and finally the philosophy of ancient India. Unlike the postmodernists, who are ultimately united almost exclusively by their critique of metaphysics and their literary style of discourse, the theorists of difference remain representatives of a traditional (though now largely forgotten) understanding of philosophy.

The article Dangerous liaisons, necessary liaisons. On the “alternative” ways of reading Old Polish texts is a polemic with Agnieszka Czechowicz's text “Uwagi o przymusach metodologicznych w badaniach literatury staropolskiej (Remarks on methodological compulsion in studies of Old Polish literature), in which so-called “alternative” methods (deconstruction, gender, etc) of reading Old Polish texts are criticized on the basis of the assumption that they deform their true image. The present polemic uses a completely different assumption: there is nothing wrong in using methods coming from outside the context of the studied texts, for the works do not have a certain meaning in itself, but only an “osmotic” meaning. The textual “osmosis” is the almost infinite, but also limited by the semantic potential, openness of the text – not only to the contexts that the author foresaw, but also to the contexts that come from the commentator's culture, and to whose existence the “alternative methods” may draw our attention.

This paper is an attempt to recapitulate the main themes in Jacques Derrida’s thought on the university. The author focuses on The University without Condition (presented for the first time in 1998). The paper briefly recounts the philosopher’s involvement in educational institutions (GREPH, Collège International de Philosophie). Next, there is an analysis of the distinction between the future (futur) and the future-to-come (l’avenir), as well as the related opposition between profession (profession) and craft/trades (métier). The strategy of conceiving the university as the topolitical place of resistance is revealed using Derrida’s deconstruction of the repeater figure (agrégé-répétiteur). The paper ends by presenting an analogy between the condition of structural atheism and the obligation of the university to create a possibility for an event (beyond the constative/performative opposition).

Stara się on odeprzeć zarzut metafizycznego obciążenia postulatu „bliskości”, wskazując na osłabiającą i „dynamizującą” ów postulat kategorię „dotkliwości”. Autor artykułu wyjaśnia również, że nie zależało mu na odwróceniu relacji między hermeneutyką a dekonstrukcją, ale na jej przemieszczeniu, wynikającym z dostrzeżenia zasadniczego pokrewieństwa obu dyskursów.
This text is a response to Grzegorz Pertek’s polemical essay Prepositions: The Metaphysics of “Closeness.” In this text, I offer a rebuttal to allegations against the metaphysical gravity of the postulate “closeness” by pointing out the category of “acuteness,” which “softens” this postulate and makes it “dynamic.” I also clarify that I am not concerned with inverting the relationship between hermeneutics and deconstruction, but in displacing them by asserting the fundamental kinship between the two discourses.
