Głównym celem artykułu jest ukazanie roli intuicji w procesach decyzyjnych występujących w mikroprzedsiębiorstwach. Artykuł zawiera rozważania dotyczące wykorzystania intuicji w zarządzaniu oraz wnioski wynikające z serii zogniskowanych wywiadów pogłębionych, przeprowadzonych wśród przedsiębiorców z północno-wschodniej Polski. W toku prac badawczych poznano opinie respondentów na temat użyteczności intuicji w biznesie. Wyniki przeprowadzonych wywiadów pozwoliły zauważyć, że proces decyzyjny w mikroprzedsiębiorstwach jest zwykle oparty na intuicji, a nie jest efektem planowania długookresowego.
The main purpose of this paper is to reflect the meaning of intuition in the decision making process in the micro-companies. This article contains theoretical considerations about the issue of intuition and the findings according to interviews with the entrepreneurs of the North-Eastern Poland. In the process of empirical research author wanted to find out opinions and viewpoints about intuition’s utility in business. The results of conducted interviews allow to notice that decision making process in the micro-companies is usually determined by intuition, not by long-term planning.

The fact that a lot of people in Poland travel by car creates a lot of different business opportunities for the retail sector. Petrol stations are among various entities that attempt to take advantage of this situation. The main purpose of this article is to identify and assess the behaviour of petrol station customers in Poland regarding their motivations for choosing particular facilities and their non-fuel purchases.The study is based on results of a CAWI survey of 603 customers. To make sure that sample was representative, its composition was controlled in terms of the following respondent variables: sex, age, size of the town of residence and province. Consumer behaviour can be affected by a number of factors but only some of them could be addressed in the study, which can be regarded as one of its biggest limitations. Nevertheless, the results provide an interesting insight on this topic. The main contributions of the study include the creation of a typology of petrol stations, identification and assessment of consumer motives for selecting a given facility and information about non-fuel purchases made by customers. The most frequent motives for selecting a given petrol station include convenient location, brand, and the price of petrol and other products. In addition to fuel, customers usually stop to buy coffee and fast food, alcoholic beverages and basic groceries. The authors discuss statistically significant differences between different types of petrol stations in the above mentioned respects. The results of the survey can be of interest to owners of petrol stations as guidance on how to adjust their marketing strategies, especially in terms of the composition of their offering.

Opis:
Organization of the dredging works is a multi-faceted issue. The management of the dredging process varies according to the location and it mostly depends on local conditions (Żak, 2014). The paper presents the results of the expert survey which was structured on a questionnaire concerning the dredging techniques in harbours. Respondents, that take part in the research, were experts from different nations, working at the management levels in the enterprises associated with the dredging branch. The aim of the proposed research was to support the selection of the appropriate dredger, the preparation of optimal work technology and the verification of strategic decisions affecting entire project. Taking everything into consideration the author proposes to use the expert survey as a technique to support the decision-making process. It enables to take advantage of the wide knowledge and experience of experts to create the most suitable dredging project.

Gry wojenne sięgają początków ludzkiej cywilizacji i nieprzerwanie towarzyszą jej rozwojowi kształtując od ponad trzech tysięcy lat bieg historii. Organizowane i prowadzone różnymi metodami i w wielu formach wpływały i kreowały stosunki międzynarodowe i międzypaństwowe w wymiarze dyplomatycznym i militarnym oraz gospodarczym i społecznym. Państwa chcąc zabezpieczyć swoje żywotne interesy oraz dążąc do zachowania, bądź też poszerzenia stref wpływów, wykorzystywały i wciąż wykorzystują w procesach decyzyjnych gry wojenne. Ich współczesny wymiar różni się od tych, które miały zastosowanie na przestrzeni wieków z punktu widzenia praktycznego i prakseologicznego. Wymiar praktyczny bezpośrednio wynika z postępu cywilizacyjnego jaki się dokonał - głównie osiągnięć naukowych i rozwoju technologicznego, a wymiar prakseologiczny z dążenia do jak najefektywniejszego wykorzystania tych osiągnięć. Gry wojenne przyjmując początkowo formę prostych gier planszowych dzięki postępowi cywilizacyjnemu i osiągnięciom naukowym (m.in. wynalezieniu druku, map papierowych, powstaniu teorii gier i technologii komputerowej), przyjęły współcześnie postać profesjonalnych narzędzi pozwalających optymalizować wykorzystanie dostępnych zasobów, jak i procesy podejmowania decyzji zarówno w wymiarze instytucjonalnym (organizacji rządowych i pozarządowych) jak i emocjonalnym (w stosunkach społecznych i relacjach międzyludzkich). Gry wojenne spełniają również istotną rolę w systemie edukacji i nauki znajdując zastosowanie w dydaktyce i prowadzonych badaniach. Studia i badania historii są dziś możliwe już nie tylko poprzez czytanie dostępnej literatury, czy też oglądanie produkcji filmowych i telewizyjnych, ale poprzez rozgrywanie interaktywnych gier. Ponieważ w naukach o bezpieczeństwie przebieg i wspomaganie procesów decyzyjnych odgrywa niezwykle istotną rolę, to jak pokazują doświadczenia i analizy historyczne gry wojenne stanowiły i stanowią zasadnicze narzędzie kształtowania bezpieczeństwa państwa.
Wargames go back to the beginnings of human civilization and continuously accompany its development, shaping the course of history for over three thousand years. Organized and conducted in various forms, they influenced and created interstate and international relations in the diplomatic and military, economic and social dimensions. Countries, wanting to secure their vital interests and striving to preserve or expand their spheres of influence, used and still use wargames in their decision-making processes. Wargames, initially taking the form of simple board games, thanks to research and scientific achievements (including initially the development of print, maps, game theory, computer technology etc.), have today taken the form of professional tools allowing for the optimization of the use of the most often limited resources in the decision-making process, both in the institutional dimension (governmental and non-governmental organizations) and emotional (in social and interpersonal relations). As the course and support of decision-making processes plays an extremely important role in the security sciences, experience and historical analysis show that wargames have been and are also an essential tool for shaping the state's security.

The dynamics of change in the contemporary world affect all areas including cross-border material flows. On the one hand, globalization has disseminated thought models and patterns of behavior based on decision patterns, thus bringing logistics to the "templates" of efficient logistics. On the other hand, has imposed and forced the need for continuous changes in the optimization of decision-making processes that are adequate to increasingly complex challenges. The main purpose of this article is to introduce the reader to decision making scenarios taken in military transport processes with particular emphasis to logistics and transport costs. This article is an attempt as well at evaluating decision scenarios in transport processes, determined mainly by the cost criterion. The whole of the considerations relates to the security of transports carried out for the purpose of military operations, that is to say, military security, understood as a safe and reliable implementation of a military operation, which must be preceded by the movement of troops into theater operations. The publication uses the experience of "lessons learned", resulting from the actions of Polish military contingents abroad. The conducted studies and analyzes show that it is possible to model transport taking into consideration the cost of specific cargo mass to areas of peacekeeping operations using services provided by carriers operating on the transport market. This kind of approach will lead in the future to changes in the logistics system without the need to spend a great deal on the purchase or hire of transport resources needed to carry out the transport function at the strategic level. As it was proved, logistics processes that take place in an international system require interpersonal cooperation and consequently appropriate relations and a high level of coordination, which change should be determined by the extent of responsibility.

This article is based on research on the decision-making process about religious vocation. The progress of this process depends on many conditions and factors. The article analyzes the important role of freedom in decision-making. Determinants of vocational decisions are shown in the background theory of self-transcendence consistency by L.M. Rulla. The consistency of the vocation and the decisions of the progress growth in vocation depend on three essential components of personality: values, psychophysiological needs and attitudes. The task of psychology is to determine the personality traits of a candidate on the stage of formation and determine its developmental potential. Wybór odpowiedniego przetargu, o którego wygranie firma będzie się starać, ma znaczący wpływ na jej kondycję i jest ważnym aspektem w jej dążeniu do sukcesu. W obliczu dużej konkurencji, wielu kontrahentów szuka optymalnego rozwiązania, w którym osiągną równowagę pomiędzy minimalizacją ryzyka związanego z realizacją przedsięwzięcia, a maksymalizacją zarówno swoich korzyści, jak i szans na wygranie przetargu, w którym zamierzają startować.
This article analyses the factors which influence construction firms in taking decisions concerning participation in tender procedures. The choice of appropriate contracts for the firm to attempt to win has a significant influence on its condition and is an important aspect of its striving for success. In the face of heavy competition, many firms seek an optimum solution to achieve a balance between minimization of the risk connected with the execution of a project, and maximization of both their benefits and their chances of winning the contract for which they intend to tender.

Aim: Provide a summary of the expressed views, presentations and discussions during the ISINI14 (2020) online conference. Design: Next to rather traditional but this time online presentations, the discussions not only took place by way of oral communication, but also via an online tool. The administrators of the conference prepared in a word-processing programme a framework, where the participants could enter issues, questions and comments in real time, and react to each others writings. These issues, questions and comments were also discussed orally. The results of the exchange of new ideas are presented below, and should provide an impulse for further discussion at  ISINI online meetings in the future. Findings: In order to achieve sustainable development, protect democratic values and empower citizens in different countries with a different institutional setting, a sound balance between open markets and sound regulation should be struck at various levels. Global and regional (EU) cooperationis needed for solving challenges to sustainable development – e.g. in relation to unexpected events such as the COVID-19 pandemic and  climate (change) as a kind of public good. The principal aim of the study is to present the issue of intuition as an important manager skill as well as the research results concerning the problem of the use of intuitive skills while making decisions. This paper presents the most important issues concerning comprehension of intuition and assessment of its usefulness. Moreover, the paper determines the significance of intuition in the decision making processes from the point of view of enterprises. It presents the results of the research analysis which are aimed at diagnosing the conditions of using intuition in problematic situations. The received results were submitted to stratification regarding such categories as sex, education, managerial experience, management level, professional specialization, the size of the enterprise, the type and the range of its business activity.

W tekście przedstawiono zagadnienia dotyczące analizy informacji i jej rolę w zapewnianiu bezpieczeństwa państwa. W pierwszej części zwrócono uwagę na teoretyczne aspekty przetwarzania wiadomości istotnych z punktu widzenia decydentów, w tym kwestie definicyjne, sposoby pozyskiwania informacji oraz rodzaje analizy danych. W głównej części tekstu wskazano na wiele podmiotów odpowiedzialnych za dostarczanie analiz politykom pełniącym funkcje kierownicze w państwie. We wnioskach postulowano zintensyfikowanie współpracy w zakresie przepływu informacji między poszczególnymi komponentami systemu bezpieczeństwa państwa oraz powołanie nowej instytucji odpowiedzialnej za koordynację i opracowywanie zbiorczych produktów analitycznych m.in. dla prezydenta RP i Prezesa Rady Ministrów.
The article presents the issue of data analysis in the process of providing national security. In the first part, there were highlighted theoretic aspects, including definitions of terms data and analysis or means of collecting information. Moreover, there was shown types of analysis and the intelligence cycle. In the second part, the author pointed out legal frames in the field of Polish security institutions which are responsible for preparation of analytical products. In conclusion, the author suggested i.a. intensification of cooperation between those agencies.

The article presents the issue of data analysis and its role in the process of ensuring national security. In the first part, the theoretical aspects of processing messages essential from the point of view of decision makers were highlighted, including definition issues, means of collecting information as well as types of data analysis. Moreover, in the further part of the publication the emphasis was put on the multiplicity of bodies responsible for providing analyses to politicians holding managerial positions in the country. In the conclusions, it was postulated to enhance cooperation as far as data flow between particular components of the national security system is concerned and establishing a new institution responsible for coordination and preparing joint analytical products, e.g. for the President of RP and the Chairman of the Council of Ministers.
W tekście przedstawiono zagadnienia dotyczące analizy informacji i jej rolę w zapewnianiu bezpieczeństwa państwa. W pierwszej części zwrócono uwagę na teoretyczne aspekty przetwarzania wiadomości istotnych z punktu widzenia decydentów, w tym kwestie definicyjne, sposoby pozyskiwania informacji oraz rodzaje analizy danych. W głównej części tekstu wskazano na wiele podmiotów odpowiedzialnych za dostarczanie analiz politykom pełniącym funkcje kierownicze w państwie. We wnioskach postulowano zintensyfikowanie współpracy w zakresie przepływu informacji między poszczególnymi komponentami systemu bezpieczeństwa państwa oraz powołanie nowej instytucji odpowiedzialnej za koordynację i opracowywanie zbiorczych produktów analitycznych m.in. dla prezydenta RP i Prezesa Rady Ministrów.

Background: Efficient management of dispersed and varied structure of supply chains is a complicated process both in terms of organisation and decision making. Merged companies forming groups with integrated capital consolidate to achieve internal coherence, also in the area of logistics. Overcoming differences resulting related to the fact that individual entities employ different rules of operation in carrying out logistic processes and their integration into one efficient system are the most challenging tasks the companies have to face. The purpose of the article is to present a concept of analysis of logistic actions efficiency in complex supply chains. Material and methods: The results of studies of economic practice in 2016-2017 and literature studies carried out as part of research and optimisation projects prove the insufficient degree of employing the analysis of efficiency of logistic actions in complex supply chains. On the basis of explorations performed, the methodology of studies focused on the analysis of logistic actions' efficiency was developed. The methodology is now the conceptual basis for analyzing efficiency in enterprises. Results: The study resulted in the development of the concept concerning the performance of efficiency analyses focused on logistic actions, the particular elements of which have been verified in terms of their usefulness in economic practice. Conclusions: Despite numerous references in literature, analysis of logistic actions' efficiency remains insufficiently defined. It makes it difficult to apply it in the economic practice of companies. The present article focuses on describing the concept of applying analysis of efficiency of logistic actions providing for the specific nature of dispersed supply chains.
Wstęp: Zarządzanie rozproszoną i zróżnicowaną strukturą łańcuchów dostaw w sposób efektywny jest procesem skomplikowanym zarówno organizacyjnie, jak również w ujęciu podejmowania decyzji. Połączone firmy, współtworzące zintegrowane kapitałowo grupy, podejmują działania konsolidacyjne w celu uzyskania wewnętrznej spójności między innymi w obszarze logistyki. Pokonanie różnic związanych ze stosowaniem przez poszczególne podmioty różnych zasad działania w realizacji procesów logistycznych oraz ich integracja w jeden wydajny system stanowi wyzwanie dla firm. Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie koncepcji analizy efektywności działań logistycznych w rozbudowanych łańcuchach dostaw. Metody: Wyniki badań praktyki gospodarczej w latach 2016-2017 oraz badań literaturowych realizowanych w ramach projektów badawczych i optymalizacyjnych, świadczą o niezadowalającym stopniu wykorzystania analiz efektywności działań logistycznych w rozbudowanych łańcuchach dostaw. Na podstawie prowadzonych eksploracji dokonano opracowania metodyki badań nad analizą efektywności działań logistycznych z uwzględnieniem specyfiki rozbudowanych łańcuchów dostaw, która stanowi podstawę koncepcyjną do prowadzenia analiz efektywności w przedsiębiorstwach. Wyniki: Wynikiem prowadzonych badań jest koncepcja prowadzenia analiz efektywności działań logistycznych, której poszczególne elementy zostały zweryfikowane pod kątem przydatności w praktyce gospodarczej. Wnioski: Analiza efektywności działań logistycznych pomimo licznych odniesień literaturowych, wciąż jest niejednoznacznie zdefiniowana. Utrudnia to jej wykorzystanie w praktyce gospodarczej przedsiębiorstw. W niniejszym artykule skoncentrowano się na prezentacji koncepcji zastosowania analizy efektywności działań logistycznych uwzględniających specyfikę rozproszonych łańcuchów dostaw.
