Opis:
This paper presents two main topics which Jerzy Kmita addresses in his methodological writings. The first one involves the conception of “humanistic interpretation” which Kmita describes as a kind of reasoning and explanation applied within the humanities. The second consists in the so called “socioregulatory definition of culture”, according to which culture is identified with a set of intersubjective beliefs guiding and regulating human actions. Based on both methodological concepts, humanities may be defined as a range of academic disciplines which in the course of humanistic interpretation hypothetically ascribe cultural beliefs to social agents in order to explain their behavior.

Opis:
One of the objects of analysis of the studies in culture is a relation between culture and action. However, this object is problematic. The aim of this article is to propose a method which allows one to analyze this problematization. I mean two elements. Firstly, I investigate a kind of determination/connection between the parts of the relation in question. Secondly, I ask for a vocabulary in which the said determination/connection takes place. Both elements contribute to a possibly simple theoretical model which allows of simulation of imaginable scenarios of the ordered actions (including, interactions) performed by the cultural individuals. As a derivate of the analytic potential, the proposed method is then to explain the particular events called the human actions of non-reflexive nature.

Opis:
In this paper the author compares psychological theories of emotions with some models representing cultural perspective, proposed by anthropologists and linguists. The main problem is to concern some conditions of coherence between these different approaches. In the first part of the paper, the author presents the universalistic conception of emotion which was formulated by Paul Ekman. The critical approaches to this theory are analyzed in the second part. The last part of this article is an attempt to answer the question about the possibility and methodological conditions of coherence between psychological models of emotions and the concept of culture.

Opis:
This article argues that, strictly speaking, from its inception with the ancient Greeks and for all time, philosophy and science are identical and consist in an essential relationship between a specific type of understanding of the human person as possessed of an intellectual soul capable of being habituated and a psychologically-independent composite whole, or organization. It maintains, further, that absence of either one of the extremes of this essential relationship cannot be philosophy/science and, if mistaken for such and applied to the workings of cultural institutions, will generate anarchy within human culture and make leadership excellence impossible to achieve. Finally, it argues that only a return to this “common sense” understanding of philosophy can generate the leadership excellence that can save the West from its current state of cultural and civilizational anarchy.

Opis:
Since most pressing today on a global scale is to be able to unite religion, philosophy, and science into parts of a coherent civilizational whole, and since the ability to unite a multitude into parts of a coherent whole essentially requires understanding the natures of the things and the way they can or cannot be essentially related, this paper chiefly considers precisely why the modern world has been unable to effect this union. In so doing, it argues that the chief cause of this inability to unite these cultural natures has been because the contemporary world, and the West especially, has lost its understanding of philosophy and science and has intentionally divorced from essential connection to wisdom. Finally, it proposes a common sense way properly to understand these natures, reunite them to wisdom, and revive Western and global civilization.
