    Opis:
    Results of pollen analysis and records of fossil plankton organisms indicate human activity in catchment areas of lakes. These records of human impact depend on the form of anthropogenic activity, scale of settlement processes and location of the zones of activity. Comparison of the two records, which illustrate transformations of terrestrial and limnic habitats, may indicate the zones of human activity. Some examples of correlation of palynological human impact indicators and Pediastrum from lakes in Wielkopolska have been discussed.

    Opis:
    The development of Warsaw determined the spatial system of its suburban zone. The original cultural landscape of the area, composed of agricultural areas with enclaves of forests and settlement clusters, is subject to continuous changes which intensified after the political transformation in 1989. Consecutive stages of such changes can be traced through the analysis of the Michałowice commune neighbouring to Warsaw. From the mid 19th century, suburban residential districts were built there, followed by model residential districts called “garden cities” (Komorów and Michałowice). The area of the commune is subject to strong urbanisation pressure. This contributes to changes in its cultural landscape and quality of residency in the area.
    Rozwój Warszawy zdeterminował układ przestrzenny jej strefy podmiejskiej. Dawny krajobraz kulturowy tego obszaru, składający sie z terenów rolniczych, z enklawami lasów i skupisk osadniczych, ulega obecnie przemianom, które nasiliły się po transformacji ustrojowej w 1989 r. Kolejne etapy tych przemian możemy prześledzić analizując rozwój, graniczącej z Warszawą, gminy Michałowice. Od połowy XIX wieku, powstawały tu tzw. letniska, a następnie, dwa wzorcowe osiedla - "miasta - ogrody" (Komorów i Michałowice). Obszar gminy podlega silnej presji urbanizacyjnej, co wpływa na zmiany jej krajobrazu kulturowego i jakość zamieszkania na tym terenie.

    Opis:
    Cultural landscape stratigraphy is a concept based on geological epoch imaging. It refers to a method of interpretation of the specific arrangement and relations between cultural layers visible in the landscape. The number of layers and their age carry information about the persistence of a given landscape type and structure. For a specific site (region, landscape unit) and scale, the layers can be illustrated in a graphical notation of a coordinate system, where the vertical axis (y) represents the time intervals and the x and z axes illustrate the spatial location in Cartesian coordinates of a given landscape unit. This paper aims to present the landscape stratigraphy model, taking into account the necessary differences depending on the landscape scales. Three levels of analysis are presented. On the mesoscale (level of geographical mesoregion), the landscape stratigraphy includes the biography and schematic imaging of the area. The microscale (level of landscape units and level of landscape interior) contains three types of imaging: cartographic, spatial digital (3D), and spatial graphic drawing. These two scales differ in their imaging detail. The landscape stratigraphy model is based on analysis of both literature and cartographic sources. The stratigraphy imaging includes two steps: the analysis of historical and contemporary maps performed in GIS, and the creation of an appropriate type of imaging, using 3D modelling software, vector graphic software, and a graphic tablet. The landscape stratigraphy model can be used in landscape persistence identification, and landscape protection and forecasting. Moreover, the attractive visualisation of landscape changes can be helpful in landscape education.
