Opis:
The work presents the results of the investigations of the effect of intensive cooling of alloy AZ91 with an addition of chromium on the microstructure and mechanical properties of the obtained casts. The experimental castings were made in ceramic moulds preliminarily heated to 180°C, into which alloy AZ91 with the addition was poured. Within the implementation of the research, a comparison was made of the microstructure and mechanical properties of the castings obtained in ceramic moulds cooled at room temperature and the ones intensively cooled in a cooling liquid. The kinetics and dynamics as well as the thermal effects recorded by the TDA method were compared. Metallographic tests were performed with the use of an optical microscope and the strength properties of the obtained castings were examined: UTS (Rm), elongation (A%), and HB hardness.

Opis:
The work presents the test result of the influence of cooling rate on the microstructure of AZ91 alloy, Vickers micro-hardness and Brinell hardness. Studies cooling and crystallization of AZ91 alloy was cast into the ceramic shells pre-heated to 180°C and then air-cooled at ambient temperature or intensively super cooled in the liquid coolant. The TDA method was applied to record and characterize the thermal effect resulting from the phase transformations occurring during the crystallization of AZ91 alloy. The kinetics and dynamics of the thermal processes of crystallization of AZ91 alloy in the ceramic shells were determined. Metallographic tests were performed with the use of an optical microscope. A comparison of these test results with the thermal effect recorded by way of the TDA method was made. Influence of cooling rate of AZ91 on HV0, 01 micro-hardness and Brinell hardness alloy was examined.

Opis:
The paper presents results of non-ferrous metals crystallization tests performed with use of the ATND method. Method of analysis of non-ferrous metals crystallization gives complete picture of arisen structural components of alloys. Particular structural components of alloys investigated with use of the ATND method were verified in x-ray microanalysis, what unequivocally confirmed their presence. Below are presented in graphical form (crystallization diagrams) results of crystallization process obtained from the ATND method. In crystallization diagrams of AG 10 and AG51 alloys are shown curves (thermal curve and its derivative, voltage curve and its derivative). Crystallizable individual structural components of the investigated alloys are reflected on curves of the method in form of characteristic peaks. The tests were performed with AG 10 and AG51 aluminum-magnesium casting alloys. Moreover, the paper presents structures of the investigated alloys with marked structural components identified with use of x-ray microanalysis.
W pracy przedstawiono analizę wyników badań metodą ATND procesu krystalizacji stopów metali nieżelaznych. Analiza procesu krystalizacji tych stopów umożliwia charakterystykę powstających składników fazowych ich mikrostruktury. Składniki fazowe mikrostruktury badanych stopów określone metodą ATND zweryfikowano metodą mikroanalizy rentgenowskiej. Przedstawiono krzywe krystalizacji stopów magnezu AG10 i AG51 w zależności od temperatury i czasu, określono efekty cieplne i napięciowe. Ustalone wartości temperatury i napięcia użyto w obliczeniach matematycznych, w analizie regresji w celu określenia wartości temperatury krystalizacji składników fazowych badanych stopów. Wykonano badania mikroskopowe stopów AG10 i AG51.

Opis:
This paper presents the results of hypoeutectic 226 grade alloy as well as prepared on its basis Al-Si alloy containing Cr, V and Mo. The additives tested were added as AlCr15, AlV10 and AlMo8 master alloys. Alloys tested were poured into DTA sampler as well as using pressure die casting. An amount of Cr, V and Mo additives in alloy poured into DTA sampler comprised within the range approximately 0.05-0.35%. Alloys to pressure die casting contained 0.05-0.20% Cr, V and Mo. The crystallization process was examined using the derivative thermal analysis (DTA). The microstructure of castings made in the DTA sampler as well as castings made with use of pressure die casting were examined. The basic mechanical properties of castings made using pressure die casting were defined too. It has been shown in the DTA curves of Al-Si alloy containing approximately 0.30 and 0.35% Cr, Mo, and V there is an additional thermal effect probably caused by a peritectic crystallization of intermetallic phases containing the aforementioned additives. These phases have a morphology similar to the walled and a relatively large size. The analogous phases also occur in pressure die casting alloys containing 0.10% or more additions of Cr, V and Mo. The appearance of these phases in pressure die casting Al-Si alloys coincides with a decrease in the value of the tensile strength Rm and the elongation A. It has been shown die castings made of Al-Si alloys containing the aforementioned additives have a higher Rm and A than 226 alloy.
