The paper presents and describes cooling systems mainly used in industrial plants specialized in production based on injection moulding machines. Each solution is rated taking into account investment costs, technical complexity, exploitation costs and system flexibility in general. With regard to dynamically changing law regulations linked to refrigeration installations, mainly F-Gases Act, during optimal system selection new restrictions were respected. This approach ensures long-term exploitation without additional complications. The paper contains characteristics of cooled facility, i.e. production plastic plant using injection moulding machines, presents specifics for this type of application where two extremely different cooling processes are placed in parallel. One task is heat collection from injection moulds to ensure short production time and produced details recurrence, the second is keeping hydraulic oil temperature between temperature limits – this process ensures proper oil viscosity and prevents its premature wear.

In this article has been found that the most popular and widely used method of cooling is liquid cooling, which ensures uniformity of temperature around the combustion chamber and easy acquisition and transfer of heat, although the properties of water are limited by maximum temperature of the coolant. Preliminary scientific research of such a system indicates the possibility of increasing overall efficiency and reducing toxic components in exhaust gases at low engine loads when the engine exhaust temperature of the classic system is too low for efficient catalytic action. This paper presents the dynamometer test stand designed and built using original components of diesel engine 4CT90 production of WSW "ANDORIA" SA. Presented system was designed for the four cylinder with indirect fuel injection system. Research was made on the engine dynamometer stand, which was equipped with standard measure devices (measures: speed, torque, temperatures, flows) and exhaust gas analysers. The temperature of this liquid was increased to the higher level than temperature of boiling water in normal conditions. Overpressure inside the cooling system was limited to 0.3 MPa, the temperature inside the cooling system was increased to 115–120°C. During the test, the cooling system was filled with coolant at 90%. The selected results of investigations of the cooling system for the combustion engine working with higher temperature of the cooling liquid, where the influence of speed and load on the engine temperature were presented.

Opis:
Thermally spraying with micro-jet cooling is an innovate technology. It is possible to get fine dispersive structure of coatings during the shorter time in comparable to the classical high velocity oxygen fuel process (HVOF). It corresponds with good corrosion-erosion properties of structure. In the paper the parameters of the spraying with micro-jet cooling process are presented. The selected properties of coatings obtained by hybrid method are presented. The results of wear tests for hybrid and HVOF coating are compared. Results of investigation are very optimistic. The presented technology should be adapted to the actual production of protective coating for machines and construction working in wear conditions.

The thermal management system is the one most important unit in the electric car which controls temperature of electric devices by obtaining a stability of their operation in different load and ambient conditions. For the other side the removable pack installed in the closed cradle for easier service during exchange of the modules should be cooled by the air. It is also better for safety during exploitation for the vehicle parts and people. The paper presents the proposal of ventilation of battery packs, assumptions of the battery pack cooling system, mathematical model of heat exchange and graphical results obtained from simulation carried out using the CFD program. During modelling it took into account two models: two-dimensional and three-dimensional for evaluation of the air flow and cooling rate of the battery modules. It was assumed four modules in one row of the cradle with total electric capacity above 4 kWh. The paper shows geometry of the whole battery unit with ventilation passages in 3D configuration. The aim of the work was determination of thermal parameters of the battery modules cooled by the air flow in the close chamber. The proposed cooling model of the cradle with air flow caused by fans in the pipe inlet shows that it is not possible to decrease temperature in the same way of each battery modules.

In this paper, a method of hybrid modelling of machine's mechanic structure together with mechatronic cooling system of its body is presented. In this method, a FEM model, traditionally used for thermal analyses of machine's thermal behaviour, has been integrated with mechatronic model of cooling system, implemented in MATLAB. In such way, a hybrid model has been created, allowing to simulate the control of machine body cooling process. Applied simulation of cooling the region of body, adjacent to the guide, illustrates the possibility of controlling the temperature in chosen points of the machine tool, in transient state, which would ensure minimal body deformations, small enough not to require compensation, which is generally hard and of limited precision. Thermal model of machine tool has been built with the use of SATO system [1]. In this work, time-domain temperature changes with and without the use of regulation by means of PID regulator have been compared. Results of the simulation show the usefulness of presented hybrid modelling method for the improvement of machine tool thermal behaviour.

Rozruch turbiny parowej wiąże się ze wzrostem obciążeń cieplnych, tym większym, im wyższa jest temperatura czynnika roboczego. Wysokie temperatury wymusiły zastosowanie w turbinach systemów chłodzenia, których zadaniem jest niedopuszczenie do nadmiernego nagrzewania elementów maszyny. Rozpatrywane jest zagadnienie działania systemu chłodzenia podczas rozruchu. Wprowadzenie dodatkowego strumienia zmienia warunki wymiany ciepła na powierzchni chłodzonych elementów i prowadzi do uzyskania pola temperatury innego, niż w turbinie bez chłodzenia. W pracy przedstawiono wyniki badań umożliwiające ocenę stanu cieplnego i wytrzymałościowego głównych elementów turbiny.
Start-up of a steam turbine incurres in high thermal loads. Their level is proportional to the level of the live steam temperature. High level of the temperature demands application of cooling systems to protect the turbine against overheating. The problem under the analysis here is focused on the operation of the cooling system during start-up. The presence of an additional steam flow changes the conditions of heat transfer at the surfaces of the components and causes the temperature field different from the one found in the uncooled turbine. The paper presents the research that aims to evaluate the thermal and strength state of the main components of a supercritical steam turbine.

W artykule przedstawiono wyniki badań trzech cieczy chłodzących stosowanych w ciśnieniowym układzie chłodzenia. W badaniach użyto wodę oraz jej 25% i 50% mieszaniny z glikolem propylenowym i etylenowym. Oceniono wpływ zastosowanej cieczy o podwyższonej temperaturze na intensywność odprowadzania ciepła z układu chłodzenia.
The paper presents the results of an investigation of three cooling liquids used in the pressure a cooling system. To conduct the investigation water and 25% and 50% of water mixture with propylene glycol and ethylene glycol was used. It assesses the effect of the high temperature liquid used on the intensity of carrying away the heat from the cooling system was assessed.

Przeprowadzono badania korozji stali zbrojeniowych w uszkodzonych płaszczach chłodni kominowej w środowisku wody chłodniczej, uzdatnianej związkami siarczanu i chlorku amonu. Badania prowadzono normową metodą grawimetryczną i elektrochemiczną z wykorzystaniem potencjostatu. Badania wykazały, że odporność korozyjna w roztworach zawierających sole amonu o stężeniu 0,15 mola/dm3, obliczona na podstawie szybkości korozji, była podobna i wyniosła 6 (w skali od 1 do 10). Stal S235JRG2 wykazała nieco wyższą odporność w tych środowiskach.
Corrosion testing was performed on structural steel of a cooling tower in the environment of cooling water containing ammonium sulfates and ammonium chloride. The test were performed using gravimetric and electrochemical methods with the application of a potentiostat. The analyses clearly showed that the corrosion rate is higher in solutions that contain ammonium sulfate and that the S235JRG2 steel exhibits higher corrosion resistance in this environment.

Although PWR reactors make up the large majority of the world's nuclear power plants, BWR reactors also have a share in this industry. It is difficult to find data on the performance of a BWR power plant in off-design and variable load conditions in the literature. Therefore, the paper presents how cooling water temperature affects the efficiency and power output of a BWR unit. The qualitative effect of changes and the trend related to the effect of cooling water temperature on the performance of the power plant are known, but the quantitative effect has to be determined for specific power units. Depending on the location of the nuclear power plant, various temperatures of cooling water for use in condensers and thus various operating conditions of the cooling system can be achieved. To analyze how cooling water temperature affects the performance of the power unit, a model of a BWR power plant was developed using the Ebsilon software. The model was based on data provided in [1] concerning LaSalle County Nuclear Generating Station. Calculations showed that within the examined range of cooling water temperatures at the condenser inlet between 10 and 28oC the gross power output of the unit decreases by 91.405 MW and the gross efficiency drops by 2.773 percentage points.

Celem artykułu jest doświadczalny dobór układu chłodzenia do bezszczotkowej prądnicy synchronicznej z magnesami trwałymi i dowzbudzaniem elektromagnetycznym, która została zaprojektowana i wykonana w Katedrze Elektroenergetyki Okrętowej Akademii Morskiej w Gdyni. Zaprojektowano, zbudowano i zbada-no trzy układy chłodzenia: z radiatorem aluminiowym i chłodzeniem naturalnym, z radiatorem aluminiowym i z jednym wentylatorem zewnętrznym, oraz układ chłodzenia z radiatorem aluminiowym i z dwoma wenty-latorami zewnętrznymi przeciwsobnymi. Do prób cieplnych wykorzystano czujniki termoparowe, które umieszczono w poszczególnych częściach maszyny. Uzyskane w sposób doświadczalny wyniki stanowią podstawę do doboru odpowiedniego dla tego rodzaju prądnicy układu chłodzenia.
This paper deals with experimental selection of a cooling system of a brushless synchronous generator with permanent magnets and an additional excitation, designed and built in Department of Ship Electrical Power Engineering in Gdynia Maritime University. Three cooling system were tested: with an aluminium radiator and natural cooling with the aluminium radiator and an external fan and the aluminium radiator and two external fans. Results of thermal tests are presented for a machine with built-in thermocouples. The selection of cooling system for the investigated machine is based on the experimental results.

The development of electronics and electrotechnology enabled to put electric motors of the alternating current in the pod and to use them for the main drive of ships. A lot of heat which must be picked up from the system is a problem which is turning up at applying the system of this type. Many big ships lately contended with these problems. Building the small propeller for the boat powered with solar power we decided to check the influence of the chilling middle on the temperature of the work of an engine. In the article we are presenting a built propeller and a way, into which an issue of the exchange of the heat was analysed using the Fluent software.

Can is widely distributed network in the industry and automotive applications with high availability enable its electronic components and the easy integration projects with software engineering research Matlab type, tends to encourage the use of these precious features of CAN to build research stands. The article presents a data transmission system using the CAN protocol as a test of a new generation of cooling systems for internal combustion engines. Adopted for the object of research methodology which involves the simulation of variable parameters of the different control strategies require data processing in real time. A large number of recorded and interpreted online information about the temperatures in many parts of the facility and other variables such as instantaneous fuel consumption, secreted mechanical power, crankshaft and throttle position together with the need to control the plant justify departure from the traditional methods of transmitting signals in separate lines , for the application data exchange network, adopted by the authors as a way of organizing the flow of data based on the CAN protocol using the Matlab Simulink Real Time. The article contains a description of the implementation of networks in the context of very specific features for Controller Area Network particularly regarding mechanisms such as arbitration on the bus, the method of initiation and the provision of sufficient transmission capacity. The presented graphs and diagrams illustrate the proposed and implemented solutions and the results obtained from stucties measuring temperatures for the warm-up and cooling of the engine.

In this paper, the existing methods to reduce the heat discharged by the engine were characterized and the efficiency of combustion piston engine was analysed, where it was shown the need and the potential for reducing the heat dissipated directly or indirectly to the surrounding atmosphere. The model of the engine cooling system for high coolant temperature developed through AMESim software was presented in this paper. The model of the cooling system was made based on test stand solution designed and built using original components and units diesel engine 4CT90. The simulation researches results of temperature course and pressure course were shown. In this paper was demonstrated that it is possible to maintain the assumed constant pressure of 0.3 MPa in the system and obtain it at the elevated liquid temperature leading to an increase in overall engine efficiency. These researches were carried out also on the experimental model stand, which confirmed the results obtained in simulation researches. Then 4CT90 engine test stand was described, where speed characteristics as a function of torque, power and specific fuel consumption and load characteristics as a function of the fractions of hydrocarbons, carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide, as well as specific and hourly fuel consumption were performed. Comparison of parameters and efficiency assessment of engine interacts with a traditional and pressure cooling system. The efficiency of the engine with the pressure and a traditional cooling system was evaluated.

The article concerns computer modelling of processes in cooling systems of internal combustion engines. Modelling objectives and existing commercial programs are presented. It also describes Author’s own method of binding graphs used to describe phenomena in the cooling system of a spark ignition engine. The own model has been verified by tests on the engine dynamometer. An example of using a commercial program for experimental modelling of an installation containing a heat accumulator is presented.
