While the term “cognitivistic pedagogy” appeared already in Polish literature, “cognitivistic didactics” is addressed mainly by foreign authors. We define principles and methods of innovative didactics based on constructivistic and cognitivistic theories. The two main paradigms of such didactics consist in constructing the knowledge (and competences) of pupils (listeners, students) in an interactive narration and in using real didactic objects, preferably pulled out of a pocket. We call these concepts hyper-constructivism and neo-realism.

Cognitive sciences are grouped together according to their substantial disciplines such as neurobiology, psychology, linguistics and many others. From more than ten years a search has been undertaken for the best fitting cognitive research method, that does not influence the scientific output. More recently attention has been turned to systems which might operate through their dynamic aspect, called the dynamic approach. Their great advantage is to see the old linguistic axioms such as connectivity in a new way.

In the year 2004 Inna Lisnianskaya created a cycle of poems Иерусалимская тетрадь (The Jerusalem Notebook). It consists of forty three poems. The title of the cycle, the place of its creation, opening and closing poems and dedication constitute on an aesthetic whole that is built on the megametaphor me is an echo. The importance of this metaphor, which is the basic figure of the poetic language, arises from the process of interpretation, so is inherently subjective. By drawing attention to the issue of interpretation, cognitivism emphasizes the role subjectiviza- tion as the basis for semantic extensions, and conceptualization. Important role for the conceptuali- zation of the analyzed cycle plays the closed composition. By repeating the sounds of different places and times the lyrical body sees itself as an echo of the spacetime. In this way, a metaphor me is an echo becomes the primary metaphor of the cycle.

The article is a summary of one part of the research conducted in the Department of Didactics and Media in Education, regarding the use of tablets in the teaching process. The paper provides an overview of the frequency of use, as well as ways of using the tools by students of the humanities. It presents the relationship between the presence of tablets in the teaching process and the cognitive-constructivist nature of acting. The presented study was carried out among 396 students of the humanities. The study used diagnostic survey methods, as well as the pedagogical crossover experiment.

The author discusses theoretical issues of functional semantics, especially such directions of the contemporary anthropological linguistics as ethnosemantics and cognitive semantics. The diversification of the content of a lexical meaning under the influence of external, mainly pragmatic and cultural, factors is the primary object of interest here. Therefore, the author considers the degree of semantic specification of lexical units at various levels of interpersonal communication: both general and subcultural. As assumed by the contemporary cultural linguistics, a concept is considered to be a category of representation of knowledge encoded in language signs. The author gives arguments in favour of the view that the opposition of the (lexical, general) meaning and concept is gradual and concerns the scope of semantic information encoded in the sign in accordance with adaptive requirements.

Selected assumptions of cognitive methodology were used in various works for anthroponymy analysis. This methodology, which is a research perspective, does not constitute a coherent theory. In order to determine the importance of onyms, the basic theses of the aforementioned methodology, i.e. the thesis of embodied cognition, the thesis of constructing meaning as conceptualization and the thesis of symbolization were applied. Determining the importance of anthroponyms was the basis for this deep analysis with the use of cognitive concepts such as: a symbolic unit or symbolic expression, habituation, a metaphor, and conceptual metonymy, schematization, a conceptual category, a standard version of the category concept, prototype or family similarity theory. This methodological approach allowed the author to study homonymy and anthroponymic polysemy. Cognitivism is a methodology that allows for a more in depth research in the field of onomastics, which has been demonstrated on the basis of anthroponymic analysis.
Celem pracy jest przedstawienie kognitywizmu jako metody interpretacji antroponimów. Wybrane założenia metodologii kognitywnej stosowane były w różnych pracach do analizy antroponimów. Metodologia ta, będąca perspektywą badawczą, nie stanowi spójnej teorii. W celu ustalenia znaczenia onimów zastosowano podstawowe założenia wspomnianej metodologii, tj. tezy o ucieleśnionym poznaniu, o konstruowaniu znaczenia jako konceptualizacji i o symbolizacji. Określenie znaczenia antroponimów było podstawą do ich pogłębionej analizy z zastosowaniem takich pojęć kognitywnych, jak: jednostka symboliczna czy wyrażenie symboliczne, habituacja, metafora i metonimia pojęciowa, schematyzacja, kategoria pojęciowa, wersja standardowa koncepcji kategorii, prototyp czy teoria podobieństwa rodzinnego. Takie podejście metodologiczne pozwoliło m.in. na zbadanie homonimii i polisemii antroponimicznej. Kognitywizm jest metodologią pozwalającą na pogłębienie badań z zakresu onomastyki, co zostało wykazane na podstawie analizy antroponimów.

Językoznawstwo kognitywne zaczyna odgrywać coraz ważniejszą rolę w interdyscyplinarnym dyskursie badawczym, uwzględniającym główny przedmiot badań – materię języka i jej zastosowanie na wielu płaszczyznach. Celem artykułu jest wyeksponowanie zakresu problematycznego wspomnianych zagadnień, biorąc pod uwagę przesłanki teoretyczne z zakresu lingwistyki i socjolingwistyki w kontekście rozwoju badań językoznawczych. Liczne egzemplifikacje pojęciowe, służące wyjaśnieniu wybranych zagadnień, uwidaczniają w tym zakresie złożony charakter podanego tematu, jednocześnie wskazując na jego powiązania z szeroko rozumianą myślą humanistyczną. Autor odwołuje się do niektórych założeń współczesnej humanistyki, zaznaczając przy tym konieczność powiązania nowych postulatów badawczych w zakresie językoznawstwa kognitywnego z podmiotem badań – uczestnikiem procesu komunikacji. Przedstawia ponadto metodologiczne dylematy poznawcze wynikające z rozwoju języka kognitywnego, poruszając przy tym problem relacji kognitywizmu wobec innych dziedzin wiedzy. Podkreśla interdyscyplinarny charakter powiązań łączących niektóre aspekty wybranych dyscyplin badawczych i dyscyplin stosowanych w praktyce zawodowej. Metodologiczną przesłanką, obejmującą analizę piśmiennictwa oraz operowanie aparatem pojęciowym z zakresu językoznawstwa, był dobór odpowiedniej terminologii zawierającej w sobie aktualne odniesienia do funkcjonowania kognitywizmu w aspekcie komunikacji. Jak wskazano powyżej, wyniki badań zostały zaprezentowane w formie wniosków z analizy lektury przedmiotowej, w której odwołano się do kwestii wymagających wyrazistego podkreślenia.
Cognitive linguistics is becoming more and more important in the interdisciplinary research discourse concerned with the main research object, i.e. the matter of language and its use on a variety of levels. The aim of this article is to point to problem areas of the aforementione dissues, taking into consideration the theoretical linguistic and sociolinguistic premises in the context of the linguistic research development. Numerous conceptual exemplifications, used in explaining selected issues, reveal a complex character of the issue at hand, and, at the same time, point to the interrelation with a broadly understood humanistic thinking. The author refers to the selected assumptions of the modern humanistic research, showing the necessity to connect the new findings of cognitive linguistics with the object of the research, i.e. the participant of the communication process. Moreover, the author presents methodological cognitive dillemas resulting from the development of the cognitive terminology, discussing the issue of the relationship between cognitivism and other branches of science. The author highlights the interdisciplinary character of the links between some aspects of research branches and the ones that are used in professional contexts. The methodological premise, consisting of the analysis of writing and operating the linguistic terminology, is the selection of appropriate terminology including modern references to the functioning of cognitivism in communication. As shown above, the research results are presented as conclusions from the analysis of sources that refer to issues requiring high lighting.

In this paper, I make an attempt to present the analytical possibilities offered by using metric feet as units that shape the course of a (piano) piece. This approach results from cognitive studies that clearly show that the perception of auditory events is based on grouping them into larger units on the basic strong–weak axis. In this approach, the foot is a scheme of one strong sound and one or two weak sounds (in different combinations) that repeats regularly in the course of the work. In this article, I present the most common ways of distinguishing strong sounds: using duration, dynamics, and pitch (features derived analogously from language, distinguishing strong syllables from the speech stream) and characterising the most common feet.

The artification hypothesis presented in this paper is based on the assumption that small children have the ability not ju st to persuade other to give them physical safety but also to initiate social bonds and emotional interaction. Thus the interactions between the child and mother are adaptive in their character and as such they were not considered by evolutionary psychologists. The other factor of artification is the ritualization of those interactions. The article delivers many examples of proto aesthetic actions and artifications stressing out also the religious aspect of the phenomenon. The author concludes with the notion that artification and aesthetic agency are adaptive as such and they were just as important in the human evolution as nonverbal information transmission.

The article concerns theoretical considerations on psychological concepts of learning in the context of e-learning. The author begins the theoretical analysis by reviewing the literature, including behavioural, cognitive and humanistic theories. Based on a detailed analysis, cognitivism is indicated as a theory that has particular application in e-learning, especially due to the continuity of the teaching process and adapting the content to the student’s level. An example of a cognitive model is D. Kolb’s model, which can be effectively used in e-learning because it includes closed cognitiveexperimental processes. The basic argument for adopting cognitive theories as dominant in e-learning is their ability to maintain the continuity of the educational process, which can be effectively implemented via e-learning platforms. A key element connecting cognitive theories with e-learning is the Multiple Coding Theory, which suggests that the transfer of knowledge becomes more effective when it takes place through different channels, enabling reception through several senses.

The purpose of this article is to show the peculiarities of a criminal threat as a criminal speech act. Its first part is devoted to outlining the concept of criminal speech acts as ones the performance of which may entail criminal consequences. The second part deals with a threat understood as a speech act in the context of linguistics, and the third part discusses a criminal threat as a criminal speech act, taking into account its characteristics under Polish law. The issues addressed in the article are interdisciplinary in nature, combining issues from both linguistics as a human science and law as a social science. The linguistic approach to threat is based on cognitive pragmatic analysis.

The problem discussed in this article is the result of a conference on research on the importance of cognitive linguistics for teaching / learning foreign languages. Despite the high methodological standards, the introduction of cognitive grammar in the classroom showed a "missing link" between concepts and reality. In the article, the author describes exercises that should help students discover the correlation between language and somatic experience. The workshop consists of two stages: (i) introduction to the concept of image patterns as conceptual structures of our organization of cognitive function; (II) sample analysis of patterns of image organizing the semantic structure of the chosen language expressions.

Artykuł jest próbą odpowiedzi na pytanie, na ile możliwe jest oddanie znaczenia pojęć koranicznych w tłumaczeniu na przykładzie pojęcia miłosierdzia. Przedstawiono konceptualizację pojęcia miłosierdzia (raḥma) w Koranie, posługując się koncepcją pola semantyczno-leksykalnego. Zbadano zależności pomiędzy znaczeniem terminu a używanymi typami metafory, konotacją i leksemami, które realizują to pojęcie. Interesujące są różnice w etymologii obu terminów, co jest szczególnie ważne w przypadku języków semickich, gdzie nośnikiem znaczenia jest rdzeń. Raḥma poprzez swój rdzeń rḥm związana jest z pojęciem bliskiej więzi i pokrewieństwa, miłości macierzyńskiej, czułości. Polski termin „miłosierdzie” posiada podobną konotację, co łaciński misericors. Misericors miało pierwotnie wydźwięk negatywny (miser – ubogi, nędzny, żałosny, nieszczęśliwy). Do XVI wieku negatywny wydźwięk miał też przymiotnik „miły”. Jego etymologia zdradza silne pokrewieństwo z filozofią grecką i systemem feudalnego rycerstwa. Polski termin „miłosierdzie” poprzez swą etymologię zachowuje znaczenie wnętrza człowieka jako źródła i siedliska uczuć. Zatraca jednak symboliczny naddatek więzi, bliskości, pokrewieństwa, uczuć macierzyńskich, który jest obecny w terminach semickich.
The article addresses the perplexing issue of rendering the meaning of the Quranic terms into other languages as close and faithfully as possible. The word for the case study here is miłosierdzie. The methodology employed is the conceptualisation of the word rahma, which the Quran transmits as the idea of mercy, within the constraints of the semantic-lexical field. The analysis is centered around the meaning of the term and types of metaphors, connotations and lexemes transmitting that meaning. The differences in etymology of both terms are quite interesting. It is especially important in the case of the semitic languages, where the meaning of the word is conveyed by its root. The root for rahma is rhm. It invokes the ideas of a bond, blood relationship, maternal love and affection. Polish word miłosierdzie elicits similar feelings as the Latin misericors, though the latter had originally had a rather negative connotations (miser – poor, wretched, miserable, unhappy). The adjective miły used to induce somewhat negative sentiments right up to the 16th century. Its etymology reveals a very close association of the word with the Greek philosophy and the ideas of the feudal society. The etymology of the Polish term miłosierdzie rescues the ability of the word to point to the inner sanctum of man, the depths of his being as the fountainhead of his feelings and their natural habitat. At the same time, however, it deprives it of its symbolic surplus of friendship, intimacy, family bonds and maternal feelings; all of which are present in the semitic languages.
