Opis:
The experimental material consisted of 15 winter wheat cultivars (14 Polish-bred cultivars and one British cultivar) representing the results of over 100 years of breeding. The cultivars were tested in two-factor field experiments (cultivars were one factor and nitrogen fertilization rates, the other factor) carried out in split-plot design across two consecutive years. This paper demonstrates a combined using AMMI and cluster analyses for effective and efficient estimate of grain-yield response to investigated environments (combinations of 2 years × 3 nitrogen fertilization rates). First, homogenous groups of cultivars were identified in terms of their genotypic profile of AMMI(s) estimates of GEI effects using Ward’s method of cluster analysis. Then, these groups were divided into separate homogenous subgroups with respect to genotype means. The cultivars in each subgroup have a similar grain yield response to the environments and, then, similar adaptation pattern, although the genotype groups differed in adaptation to these environments...

Opis:
Event correlation and root cause analysis play a fundamental role in the process of troubleshooting all technical faults and malfunctions. An in-depth, complicated multiprotocol analysis can be greatly supported or even replaced by a troubleshooting methodology based on data analysis approaches. The mobile telecommunications domain has been experiencing rapid development recently. Introduction of new technologies and services, as well as multivendor environment distributed across the same geographical area create a lot of challenges in network operation routines. Maintenance tasks have been recently becoming more and more complicated, time consuming and require big data analyses to be performed. Most network maintenance activities are completed manually by experts using raw network management information available in the network management system via multiple applications and direct database queries. With these circumstances considered, identification of network failures is a very difficult, if not an impossible task. This explains why effective yet simple tools and methods providing network operators with carefully selected, essential information are needed. Hence, in this paper efficient approximated alarm correlation algorithm based on the k-means cluster analysis method is proposed.

Opis:
Background. Lifestyle factors are the key determinants of health. Diet exerts the great influence on the weight to height ratio and the body fat percentage. In addition to total energy intake, the type and quality of the diet can also play a role in the etiology of obesity in susceptible individuals. Objective. Aim of this study was to identify the dietary patterns of the Polish population and to determine the associations between these characteristics and body composition parameters. This study presents the clustering of dietary models and body composition to determine the association of these dietary patterns with BMI, physique rating (body type) or visceral fat. Material and methods. The sample consisted of 402 respondents aged 18 to 65. Nutrition models were identified with cluster analysis. Logistic regression modelling with adjustment for confounders was applied. Three dietary-lifestyle patterns were identified. Results. Individuals belonging to the processed food model were at significantly higher risk of overweight and obesity expressed by BMI scores (OR=1.55; 95%CI: 1.26-1.89). The average BMI score was 28.19 ± 3.45 kg/m2 in the processed food model, 23.78 ±2.21 kg/m2 in the control group, and 22.17 ± 2.69 kg/m2 in the healthy nutrition model. Respondents belonging to the processed food model were also characterized by considerably higher body fat percentage (OR=1.89, 95%CI: 1.37-2.34) and higher visceral fat levels (OR=2.12; 95%CI: 1.42-2.34). Frequent intake (at least several times a week) of sweetened carbonated or non-carbonated beverages (p=0.002) and instant foods (p=0.006) were the main factors associated with the risk of higher body fat percentage and higher visceral fat levels. Conclusions. Dietary patterns have been proposed as a solution to investigating the association between food choice and body composition, and such studies focus on analyses of the entire diet, rather than on the intake of individual nutrients or food groups.
