    After 1945, the situation of the Catholic Church in Poland has undergone radical changes. In years 1945-2000 there was a very dynamic time for systemic economic change in our country, determining the formation of architecture also influencing its aesthetic qualities. This applies especially to religious architecture, whose free development during this period was strongly disturbed. New conditions in which investors had to operate the church - makers after 1945 the construction of temples, significantly influenced the possibility of proper functioning and development of the sacral. This article attempts to analyze the basic mechanisms directly affecting the process of investment-realization and, consequently, the evolution of architectural forms of contemporary churches, performed in the Archdiocese of Cracow in 1945-2000.

    The article deals analysis of heating systems in sacral buildings on the basis selected churches in Lower Silesia in Poland. Technical and economical aspects of heating systems were taken into account. Article is based on the diploma project “Economic and technical aspects of church heating” at Wroclaw University of Technology.

    W pracy zaprezentowane zostało współczesne budownictwo sakralne Myszkowa. Opisano pięć budynków kościołów wzniesionych po II wojnie światowej w tym mieście, uwzględniając rys historyczny oraz charakterystykę architektoniczną i budowlaną obiektu. Zaprezentowano po dwa zdjęcia każdej ze świątyń.
    Myszków is a country town of 33 thousand inhabitants located in śląskie province. Within the hierarchy of the catholic church this town belongs to zawierciański pastoral district of arch-diocese of Częstochowa. Contemporary sacral buildings of Myszków are presented in the paper. There are descriptions of five postwar objects, including their history and some details about their style, architecture and construction. Photographs of the churches are also presented.

    Czy desakralizacja obiektów zabytkowych i tworzenie w nich ekspozycji to w Polsce zjawisko o marginalnym znaczeniu? Fakt, iż w powojennej Polsce odnotowano przynajmniej 84 podobne realizacje, sugeruje coś zgoła innego. W artykule przedstawiono chronologię, zasięg oraz strukturę zbioru obiektów adaptowanych. Spróbowano dotrzeć do przyczyn braku zmian w tempie rozwoju tego zjawiska, pomimo wzrastającego zainteresowania zarówno tematyką desakralizacji, jak i tworzeniem alternatywnych przestrzeni eksponowania sztuki. Pośrednim celem poszukiwań było odnalezienie jak największej liczby kościołów, synagog i klasztorów, które posłużą do dalszych badań, co z kolei pozwoli w przyszłości na formułowanie bardziej szczegółowych wniosków.
    In Poland the desacralization of buildings for exhibition purposes may at first seem a marginal phenomenon. However, the fact that at least 84 such transformations have been carried out in Poland since World War II suggests something different. This paper aims at depicting the chronological development of this phenomenon, its scale and its architectural structure, i.e. the sort of buildings that have become adapted. It also tries to pinpoint the reasons why the pace of this process does not change even though nowadays both desacralization and search for new exhibition spaces are widely discussed topics. Yet another goal of this study was to find churches, synagogues and monasteries that could be used for further research, which in time may allow to form more detailed conclusions.

    Przedmiotem rozważań artykułu jest krajobraz kulturowy miasta oraz wpływ religii chrześcijańskiej (Kościoła Rzymskokatolickiego) na ten krajobraz. W artykule przedstawiono rezultaty badań własnych, których celem było określenie wpływu obiektów sakralnych i elementów małej architektury sakralnej na strukturę przestrzenną i tożsamość krajobrazu południowej Warszawy. Badania obejmowały: analizę okresu, okoliczności powstania i zasięgu parafii oraz wyboru lokalizacji kościołów, określenie układu krajobrazowego i struktury przestrzennej parafii oraz ocenę znaczenia krajobrazowego zespołów kościelnych jako dominant krajobrazowych. Badania pokazały, że wpływ architektury sakralnej na strukturę przestrzenną i tożsamość krajobrazu jest nadal czytelny.
    Scope of the article is urban cultural landscape and the influence of the Christian religion (Roman Catholic Church) on the landscape. In the article, results of the author’s research were presented. The research was aimed to determine the influence of the sacral buildings and elements of small architecture on the southern Warsaw landscape spatial structure and identity. The research consists of: analysis of period, circumstances of parishes establishment and delimitation of their borders and church location selection, determination of the parishes landscape composition and spatial structure, evaluation of landscape meaning of the church complexes as landscape dominants. The research showed that the sacral architecture influence on landscape spatial structure and identity is still visible.

    The content of this article is an introduction to a wider spectrum of the issues related to losses of life and material things the Diocese of Lublin suffered after the First World War. The article focuses on two major issues related firstly to the reconstruction of destroyed parish churches in the Diocese of Lublin in the postwar period and using for this purpose state subsidies and funds from the contributions of the parishioners; and secondly, related to the dynamics and intensity of the construction of new parish churches at that time. The rebuilding of churches and buildings connected with them was a priority in the fi eld of renovation and construction projects after World War I. The matter of less importance was to initiate the construction of new churches, erected mainly at the expense of parishioners, rarely with the use of state subsidies. In the 1930s the movement of building parish churches intensified. It was, however, a short-lived process, interrupted by the outbreak of another war. The dynamic growth in the number of new churches, observed in a relatively short period of time was caused, among other things, by the use of cheaper and more readily available wood, which resulted in the increase in wooden churches in the interwar period. The concise characterization of building regulations in the context of the construction of parish churches in the postwar period, the same as in the case of other issues, requires further research and in-depth analysis.
