- The issue of universal sexual education of children and young people is conditioned by many socio-cultural factors, and even political, ethical or religious. The manner in which knowledge should be conveyed on this subject is constantly on the verge of accusations of “sexualization” of young people and the neglect of such an important element of education. The aim of the article is to present the model of sexual education (and preparation for life in the family) currently in force in Polish education – the methods of its implementation and effectiveness. This article is also based on the search for an answer to the question whether and how to present children’s issues related to human sexuality, not only to interest them, but also to contribute to the positive values of social determinants associated with physical and mental health.
