When analyzing the reasons of the previous programs`failure, we usually focus on the following questions: timeliness of the program results obtaining, keeping to the budget frames, and the results compliance with the quality parameters specified. In other cases, the analysis confirms that the program and the team’s activity have been successfully finished, the payments to suppliers completed and the interested persons and users quite satisfied. It is much less frequently when the question of selecting the most pertinent area of changes is raised, as well as thequestion of readiness of the organization for the changes to occur due to the implementation of the program. The process of introducing a program, that assure changes, into organization activities is the subject of this article. The objectives: development of an instrument for analyzing the possibility of implementation of changes into the work of an organization and for evaluating the intensity of resistance to changes. The task is to analyze factors having an impact on the results and possibility of introducing changes within an organization, to consider and to ground the main problems and the sources of resistance to the changes. In our research, we used such methods as logical summarizing, analysis and synthesis, structural analysis. The results: a model of calculating the resistance to changes has been developed. This model takes account of the program implementation intensity and allows determining the total level of resistance to changes after successful completion of the program. The research showed that the total level can be both high and low, as the organization personnel, especially its top management, may not recognize the need for changes, or may strive for achieving stability of the company situation. In the course of the research, the basic features of the changes introducing programs have been defined and the basic problems appearing at an organization presented, particularly, those relating to its personnel. The problems have been classified as relating to the organization top management and directly relating to the team working on the program. Conclusions: the instruments foranalyzing the implementation of the program of changes or transformations within an organization have been obtained. The results achieved in the research bring the statement that if the resistance to changes is stronger than the organizational potential of a company, any benefits from the implementation of the program are leveled down. Therefore, the reduction of the general resistance to changes within an organization isneeded first, and only after this, any programs and projects can be implemented.

The method has been developed for recognition of changes, caused by vegetation, using the Earth remote sensing data obtained at different points of time. The method includes automatic calculation of brightness groups in segments of changes for each range in the multizonal image. Also, the problem of the spatial multispectral decomposition is resolved with regard to the areas of changes caused by vegetation, with the automatic selection of the object's components homogeneous in terms of their reflection properties.

The author’s aim is to identify changes in the rate, intensity and direction of hotel development, as well as their number, type and capacity of in Poland, by category and province in 1990-2015. The objective is to define the influence of both tourism attractiveness and economic development factors (GNP, total capital expenditure, the value of gross fixed capital formation – GFCF) on the changing number of hotel rooms. The identification was based on commonly available materials provided by the Local Data Base (LDB) of the Central Statistical Office (CSO), as well as from statistical year books concerning the tourism sector. The article presents methods for analysing indices, as well as correlation and graphic presentation (graphs, maps). From 1990 to 2015, there was a rapid increase in the number and capacity of hotels in Poland (4.5 times), especially in higher (5* and 4*) and medium standard (3*) hotels. That increase was significantly diversified regionally and strongly depended on the tourism attractiveness and socioeconomic development of provinces.

Counsellors are important key members in Chinese universities. In this paper, on the one hand, we compared student affairs workers’ occupational characteristics, classification and development of western as well as Chinese university. On the other hand, Chinese university faculty members and students are our subjects. Of 800 pieces circulated, 537 pieces are found to be effective. We verified the reliability and validity of data, then conducted correlation analysis, exploratory factor analysis (EFA), and confirmatory factor analysis (CFA). The test has good reliability and validity. Cronbach’s alpha coefficient and the split-half reliability coefficient are all above 0.9, indicating that the actual value is in good accordance with the true value. The internal alpha coefficient and the split-half reliability coefficient of each factor are all above 0.8. Χ2/df<5. GFI, AGFI, NFI, CFI, IFI,RMSEA and the other indicators are fitting, and this test meets measurement requirements. A 5-factor model is formulated based on the research results, including: moral quality; professional competence; political awareness; instructive ability; interpersonal skills. This 5-factor model reflects the evaluation of faculty members and students in universities on qualities of counsellors and transformation in their expectation for the role counsellors play as time goes by. So we summarize the qualities of counsellors are constantly changing. These changes have been constantly evolving in time, and their traits are such as: Objectivity of the times, Initiative of inner, Predictability of practice. Being well aware of the trend of this career is conducive to the formation of a sound relationship between counsellors and students, measurability for morality-oriented education, and improvement in counsellors’ overall qualities.

W artykule przedstawiono konsekwencje zmian organizacyjno – prawnych w zakresie funkcjonowania jednostek sektora finansów publicznych. Wskazano, że przyjęte rozwiązania w obowiązującej od 1 stycznia 2010 r. ustawie o finansach publicznych zmieniając strukturę organizacyjną sektora publicznego poprawiają nieco jego przejrzystość, ale w sposób kompleksowy nie porządkują zasad działania tych jednostek oraz całego sektora.
This article shows consequences of organizational and legal changes concerning functioning of units of the public sector. It is showed that regulations which were created in the statute of public sector (in force from 1st of January 2010) are changing along with organizational structure of the public sector improving a little bit its transparency but in comprehensive way do not make more clear the rules of operation of these units and the entire public sector.

Theoretical background: Beyond doubt, the COVID-19 pandemic has caused a series of perturbations in the economies of almost every country in the world. This global crisis has contributed to the business turmoil and has been seen in services in particular. Due to restrictions on economic activity introduced by governments of countries, which were aimed at slowing down the scale of virus infections, many enterprises faced a severe dilemma, i.e. how to continue their activities, how to survive the crisis, and maybe end this activity, or change it into another. For many companies, the pandemic crisis turned out to cause multi-faceted losses and even bankruptcy. But also, some companies saw the crisis as an opportunity to introduce positive changes and gain new sales markets and customers. For these companies, the coronavirus pandemic has become a growth catalyst.Purpose of the article: The theoretical part of the article is devoted to analyzing the literature resources on the coronavirus pandemic and its impact on business. In the practical part, the author explores the results of the quantitative research conducted in 2021 to find out how the coronavirus influenced the functioning of the SME sector in Poland. The author posed the following research questions: How did coronavirus impact the functioning of enterprises? How did companies cope with this crisis? Was the pandemic crisis a source of financial failure or collapse of Polish enterprises? Was it an opportunity for market success? Did the pandemic initiate new business strategies, cause or accelerate changes in the business model?Research methods: The literature review was made using the database of scientific articles in Google Scholar and ResearchGate. The author searched for relevant articles using the following keywords: “COVID-19”, “coronavirus”, “pandemic”, “pandemic crisis”, and “lockdown”. The quantitative study covered 500 Polish business entities operating in production, trade, and services in domestic and foreign markets. There were no limitations regarding the area of activity (according to the Polish Classification of Activities) or the number of years of firms’ presence on the market. The study did not cover large enterprises, i.e. 250 or more employees.Main findings: In general, the coronavirus pandemic caused problems in the market but did not contribute to the drastic collapse of the SME sector, nor was it a catalyst for their spectacular development. The conducted study showed that most companies dealt moderately well with the pandemic crisis. They took remedial action to avoid a complete loss of liquidity, going out of business, and bankruptcy risk. A small percentage saw an opportunity in the crisis or used this time to improve their situation.

The article attempts to explain the importance of organisational culture in corporate environment. In particular, it highlights certain mechanisms of changes occurring in the organisation in the organisational culture perspective. Organisational culture offers certain standards and values, and it systematises reality, meaning that it highlights what is important and avoids what is irrelevant to the organisation and its employees. Given that, it is a tool enabling identification of opportunities and threats arising from changes as well. Many companies, for instance IBM, Procter&Gamble, Exxon, ABB or Siemens have managed to undergo the change process without changing their developed and consolidated standards and values. The purpose of this article is to diagnose the ways of conscious development of organisational culture in corporate environment, and illustrate the same with the example of selected banks. The article analyses the scientific and the literary output researching the aforementioned issue. It is an introduction to the author's own empirical studies aimed at analysing the mechanisms of changes of corporate culture.

The article is an attempt to verify the hypothesis that the tourist function in Polish health resorts is becoming increasingly diversified. It presents data concerning the capacity and type of accommodation in three Kujawy health resorts, as well as their amenities. The data was provided by the Local Data Bank at the Central Statistical Office (GUS), and refers to the period between 1995 and 2018. The study findings point to the increasingly diversification of the tourist function in Kujawy health resorts. The greatest changes have been identified at Ciechocinek which can currently be defined as a tourism and health resort. Less advanced changes have been found in Inowrocław, while Wieniec-Zdrój still remains a typical spa with a marginal share of other functions. Based on official statistics, the author has identified general trends taking place in health resort infrastructure. Only a limited quantitative analysis of the relationship between the health and tourist functions of Kujawy health resorts has been made, mostly due to the incompleteness of the statistical data.

In the reality of a free market economy, organisations constantly have to adjust to the changing conditions and environment. Organisations may develop from the inside or gain other markets via expansion, i.e. thanks to mergers or acquisitions. The aim of such actions is reduction of costs and use of new or better developed techniques or technologies, along with the experience of personnel of the merged/acquired companies. In the course of implementing organisational changes in the enterprise, the level of employee engagement may decrease due to errors in human resource management. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to determine the level of employee involvement during organisational changes due to the merger company and to indicate those areas that should be strengthened. The method of achieving the indicated goal was a comparative analysis own questionnaire research with the company research in previous years. As a result of the compilation of these research results, it was found that there are many significant discrepancies in the perception of various types of issues by employees (in such areas as e.g. tasks, management, performance management, employee development, work or organisation, career, cooperation) affecting the involvement in work. It has been shown that the practice of cyclical employee engagement surveys allows the company's management board to identify errors in human resource management and to eliminate them or to notice activities conducive to increasing the level of involvement, and thus consolidating or strengthening them. The conducted case study, as one of the few studies, presents a crosssectional analysis of the discussed phenomenon of employee involvement in the enterprise. Only such a long-term analysis of employees' attitudes allows them to be modelled in accordance with the goals of the organisation and the expectations of managers.
W realiach gospodarki wolnorynkowej organizacje muszą nieustannie dostosowywać się do zmieniających się warunków i otoczenia. Organizacje mogą rozwijać się od wewnątrz lub zdobywać inne rynki poprzez ekspansję, czyli fuzje lub przejęcia. Celem takich działań jest obniżenie kosztów oraz wykorzystanie nowych lub lepiej rozwiniętych technik lub technologii, a także doświadczenia kadr połączonych/przejętych spółek. W trakcie wdrażania zmian organizacyjnych w przedsiębiorstwie poziom zaangażowania pracowników może spadać z powodu błędów w zarządzaniu zasobami ludzkimi. Dlatego celem niniejszego opracowania było określenie poziomu zaangażowania pracowników podczas zmian organizacyjnych w związku z połączeniem spółki oraz wskazanie obszarów, które należy wzmocnić. Metodą realizacji wskazanego celu była analiza porównawcza własnych badań ankietowych z badaniami firmy w latach poprzednich. W wyniku zestawienia wyników tych badań stwierdzono, że istnieje wiele istotnych rozbieżności w postrzeganiu przez pracowników różnego rodzaju zagadnień (w takich obszarach jak np. zadania, zarządzanie, zarządzanie wydajnością, rozwój pracowników, praca czy organizacja, kariera, współpraca) wpływające na zaangażowanie w pracę. Wykazano, że praktyka cyklicznych badań zaangażowania pracowników pozwala zarządowi firmy na identyfikację błędów w zarządzaniu zasobami ludzkimi i ich eliminację lub dostrzeżenie działań sprzyjających zwiększeniu poziomu zaangażowania, a tym samym ich utrwaleniu lub wzmocnieniu. Przeprowadzone studium przypadku, jako jedno z nielicznych opracowań, przedstawia przekrojową analizę omawianego zjawiska zaangażowania pracowników w przedsiębiorstwie. Dopiero tak długofalowa analiza postaw pracowników pozwala na ich modelowanie zgodnie z celami organizacji i oczekiwaniami menedżerów.

Kiedy na świecie pojawia się dziecko, rodzice robią wszystko, by zająć się nim jak najlepiej. Nieprzespane noce, ograniczony kontakt z rzeczywistością to naturalna kolej rzeczy. Na szczęście po czasie to mija – kiedy dzieci rosną. Niestety, w przypadku opiekunów dzieci z niepełnosprawnością ten okres nie mija, a wręcz ciągnie się latami. Samotność i brak sieci wsparcia osób, które opiekują się kimś non stop, to realny i mało widoczny dla społeczeństwa problem. Zadbanie o samopoczucie opiekunów osób z niepełnosprawnością jest niezmiernie ważne w procesie leczenia i rehabilitacji ich podopiecznych. Choć w obecnych czasach coraz więcej mówi się o opiekunach, niestety nadal wokół nich krąży wiele krzywdzących opinii i stereotypów. Nikt nie przygląda się temu, co ci rodzice przeżywają na co dzień i z jakimi problemami muszą się zmagać.
When a child comes into the world, parents do everything to take care of him/her as best as possible. Sleepless nights, limited contact with reality is the natural order of things. Fortunately, it passes with time - as children grow up. Unfortunately, in the case of carers of children with disabilities, this period does not end, and even lasts for years. Loneliness and the lack of a support network of people who care for someone non-stop is a real problem that is not very visible to society. Taking care of the well-being of carers of people with disabilities is extremely important in the process of treatment and rehabilitation of their charges. Although nowadays there is more and more talk about carers, unfortunately, there are still many harmful opinions and stereotypes around them, and no one looks at what these parents experience on a daily basis and what problems they have to deal with.

Przepisy techniczne dotyczące dróg opracowane były na podstawie doświadczeń sprzed dwudziestu lat. W tym czasie nastąpił znaczący postęp technologiczny zarówno w zakresie dróg jak i pojazdów. Nowe doświadczenia i badania naukowe wykonane w różnych krajach upoważniają nas do zrewidowania i uaktualnienia przepisów. W szczególności wydaje się pożądane zrewidowanie zapisów dotyczących odległości widoczności na zatrzymanie aby projekty drogowe uczynić tańszymi i bardziej efektywnymi.
Technical regulations for roads were prepared on the base of experience before twenty years ago. Significant technological progress in both roads and vehicles has been done since that time. New experience and research made in various countries authorize us to revise and up-date the regulations. In particular, revision of stopping sight distance seems to be desired in order to make the road projects cheaper and more efficient.

The aim of the study was to answer the question about changes in self-efficacy, coping strategies, and well-being during residential alcohol addiction psychotherapy. Correlations between these changes were also explored. The participants were 60 patients of a specialized alcohol addiction treatment center attending structural-strategic residential group therapy. Self-efficacy, well-being (two indicators: satisfaction with life and depression), and coping strategies (four indicators: problem-focused, emotion-focused, and meaning-focused strategies plus seeking social support) were assessed twice: at admission and then at the end of the treatment, i.e., six weeks later. The tools used for this purpose were, respectively: Schwarzer et al.’s Generalized Self-Efficacy Scale (GSES), Diener et al.’s Satisfaction With Life Scale (SWLS), Beck Depression Inventory (BDI), and Gruszczyńska’s Coping Questionnaire (KRS). The results of bivariate latent growth curve analysis with bootstrapping show a decrease in depression as well as an increase in strategies focused on problem, on meaning, and on seeking social support. All these changes were positively correlated, which indicates that the intensification of coping is connected with a decrease in depression. Additionally, pretest coping intensity was shown to moderate changes in satisfaction with life, which increased only in the “low copers” group. For the remaining variables, significant interindividual variances were found regarding both the starting points and the rates of change. Thus, results indicate the need for analyzing changes during treatment from two perspectives: in terms of group means and in terms of variance around these means, which capture interindividual variability in the change process.
