Opis:: The purpose of the paper was to synthetically characterise the changes of spatial differentiation of industry innovation in Poland in 2005–2015 in the context of research problems of innovativeness with the use of the cross product. The availability of data limited the scope of the research. For example, innovative activity was presented through the analysis of the share of innovative units in the total number of industrial enterprises and the size of expenditure on innovative activities incurred by industrial enterprises. The analysis of the share of innovative products in the value of total production and net revenues from sales of innovative products in net revenues from total sales was also made. The analyses mentioned were presented against the research and development situation in Poland as a whole and by voivodeship. Research confirmed that significant spatial diversity distinguishes the spatial structure of innovation in Polish industry by voivodeship. Moreover, it is significant that innovative expenditures show low efficiency.Spatial structure of industry innovativeness in Poland was highly stable in the analysed period. The changes in the spatial structure were insignificant and reached only 4% in synthetic terms. More substantial transformations of the structure, often of an abrupt character, concerned only the selected features of industry innovativeness.

Opis:: Artykuł podejmuje problematykę oceny działalności przemysłowej w czasie trwania pandemii SARS‑CoV-2 w Polsce w układzie województw. Celem opracowania jest identyfikacja wpływu pandemii SARS‑CoV-2 w latach 2020–2021 na działalność przemysłową oraz określenie jej konsekwencji w strukturze przestrzennej przemysłu w poszczególnych województwach. Zakres omawianych zagadnień był uzależniony od dostępności danych, zwłaszcza na poziome regionalnym. W opracowaniu zaprezentowano analizy dotyczące podstawowych cech charakteryzujących działalność przemysłową, takich jak wartość produkcji sprzedanej przemysłu, liczba pracujących, wartość wskaźnika ogólnego klimatu koniunktury w przetwórstwie przemysłowym. Dopełnieniem analiz struktury regionalnej przemysłu były badania przeżywalności podmiotów, mierzone liczbą podmiotów podejmujących działalność w przemyśle i liczbą podmiotów wyrejestrowanych. Wyniki przeprowadzonych badań wskazują na wyraźny wpływ pierwszej fali koronawirusa (II kwartał 2020 r.) na podstawowe parametry działalności przemysłowej. W okresie pandemicznym (między IV kwartałem 2019 r. a II kwartałem 2021 r.) struktura przestrzenna przemysłu w Polsce odznaczała się dużą stabilnością – zmieniła się jedynie w niespełna 3%. Pomimo dużej stabilności struktura ta podlegała jednak pewnym wahaniom. Największe zmiany dokonały się pomiędzy II kwartałem 2020 r. a II kwartałem 2019 r. Zasadniczą cechą zachodzących zmian strukturalnych jest relatywne zmniejszanie się dysproporcji pomiędzy rozdziałem produkcji przemysłowej na poszczególne województwa Polski.
The article deals with the issue of the assessment of industrial activity during the SARS‑CoV-2 pandemic in Poland by voivodeship. The aim of the study is to identify the scale of the impact of the SARS‑CoV-2 pandemic period in the years 2020–2021 on industrial activity and to determine the consequences in the spatial structure of industry in the system of voivodeships in Poland. The scope of issues adopted for analysis depended on the availability of data, especially at the regional level. The study presents analyses of the basic features characterising industrial activity, i.e. the value of industrial production, the number of employees, the number of entities registered in industrial activity, or the value of the general economic climate indicator in manufacturing. The analyses of the regional structure of industry were complemented by the survey of the survival rate of entities, measured by the number of entities undertaking activities in industry and the number of entities deregistered in the quarters of the analysed period. The results of the conducted research indicate a clear effect of the impact of the first wave of COVID-19 cases (Q2 2020) on the basic parameters of industrial activity. During the pandemic period (Q4 2019 and Q2 2021), the spatial structure of industry in Poland was characterised by high stability, it changed only by less than 3%. Despite high stability, the spatial structure of industrial production was, however, subject to certain fluctuations. The largest changes in the spatial structure of industrial production took place between Q2 2020 and Q2 2019 – 4%. The essential feature of the ongoing structural changes is the relative reduction of disproportions between the distribution of industrial production to individual Polish voivodeships.
