    Special education options are diverse and prepared to meet the needs of children with varying degrees of intellectual disabilities. However, many parents of children with an intellectual disability have a difficult time in organizing the religious educational alternatives for their children. A disabled child needs to be surrounded by catechetical specialist care. In this article, the author points out the pedagogical and catechetical challenges of special education and catechesis. At the beginning, three basic educational environments are presented followed by the major aspects of the Catholic religious education: knowledge of God, prayer, and preparation for the sacrament of Penance and the Eucharist.

    The article is aimed at showing the meaning of moral education in the processes of religious education. The authors pay attention to the meaning of moral values influencing man’s behaviour, attitudes to Self, other people, world, and God. Experience obtained in the relationship with Self, others and God has a significant role in the trajectory of educational processes, particularly the process of moral upbringing of a person. Attention paid to natural cognition and cognition rooted in God can help underlining the sense of religious education, also religious education of a child. Moral imagination producing moral images becomes the subject for analysis in terms of teacher’s responsibility concerning the selection of literature items, or ways of their analysis. Moral upbringing tightly connected with religious education elicits the meaning of work upon own character and catechesis as a tool enhancing its quality. The research question of this article can be posed: How does moral upbringing participate in the processes of religious education?

    Współczesne dokumenty Kościoła, nawiązując do tradycji wcześniejszych, chętnie podejmują temat wychowania, zarówno mając na uwadze wychowanie ogólne człowieka, jak i wychowanie religijne. Zagadnienie to jest również częstym tematem wypowiedzi papieży, jak i refleksji katechetycznej. Opracowanie prezentuje panoramę posoborowego nauczania Kościoła zarówno dotyczącą określenia i istoty wychowania, relacji między wychowawcą a wychowankiem, jak i określającą cele wychowawcze i sposoby ich osiągnięcia. Zebrane wypowiedzi składają się na całościową wizję wychowawczą charakteryzującą się szacunkiem dla procesu wychowania, ale i wychowanków, a także odnoszącą ich zarówno do doczesnego, jak i wiecznego celu wychowania.
    The contemporary documents of the Church, referring to earlier traditions, willingly take up the subject of nurturing. The subject discusses both general and religious education. This issue is also a frequent topic of the Pope’s statements as well as catechetical reflections. The study presents a plethora of the post-Conciliar Church teaching about the definition and the essence of education, the relationship between the educator and education defining educational goals and the ways to achieve them. The statements build a comprehensive educational vision characterized by the respect for the process of upbringing and foster children. It also refers to the purpose of education, both temporal and eternal.

    Udział w lekcjach religii powinien pomagać młodym ludziom w rozwijaniu duchowej sfery osobowości, w odnalezieniu własnej drogi do Boga oraz zrozumieniu celu i sensu życia. Zważywszy, że duchowość jest istotnym czynnikiem chroniącym w profilaktyce uzależnień i zachowań ryzykownych młodzieży, bardzo niepokojący jest, odnotowywany w ostatnich latach, spadek frekwencji uczniów szkół średnich na katechezie. Celem artykułu jest ukazanie oczekiwań młodzieży względem katechezy w zakresie programu nauczania, kompetencji merytorycznych katechetów i stosowanych na lekcjach religii metod pracy. W wyniku badań sondażowych, przeprowadzonych w grupie 70 absolwentów szkół średnich, ustalono, że młodzi ludzie są bardzo zainteresowani religią i rozwojem duchowym, mają w tym zakresie wiele oczekiwań, ale również wiele pytań i wątpliwości. Oczekują więc od katechetów rzetelnej wiedzy i otwartości na dyskusję, czego niestety często brakuje im na lekcjach religii. 
    Participation in Religious Education classes should supposedly facilitate the spiritual formation and development of young people’s personality, finding their own path to God, as well as understanding their purpose and meaning of life. Since spirituality is a significant factor in prevention of dependence and high-risk behaviours of adolescents, the decrease in the number of secondary education students who participate in Religious Education classes is most alarming. The purpose of this paper is to present the expectations of young people towards catechesis in terms of the curriculum, competences of the educators, and the working methods employed during the classes. The results of the survey carried out on a group of 70 secondary school graduates have revealed that young people are deeply interested in religion and spiritual growth. They have high expectations but are also full of questions and doubts. Therefore, they expect that catechists demonstrate sound knowledge and the ability to hold an open-minded discussion. This is, unfortunately, where Religious Education classes often fail them.

    The time of early education of a child in school is a time of intense intellectual and spiritual work. It carries a lot of changes in the child’s personal, family and school life. This article is giving the attention to the problem of values in the child’s life. It is also an attempt to answer the following questions: how does the time of early education introduce a child in early school age to the world of religious values, what is the role of the family and teachers during this period.

    W obliczu przemian zachodzących we współczesnym świecie zauważa się potrzebę nieustannego pobudzania do żywego świadectwa wiary. Dlatego też celem artykułu jest podkreślenie jak ważną rolę w pobudzaniu do żywego świadectwo wiary i w uświadamianiu rodzicom ich zadań i obowiązków względem ich dzieci pełni katecheza chrzcielna. Katecheza ta stanowi szansę ich rozwoju religijnego tak, aby od wiary indywidualnej mogli przejść oni do wiary wyznawanej i kształtowanej we wspólnocie Kościoła i rodziny. Dzisiejsze zabieganie i wielość propozycji na ,,szczęśliwe życie” płynących ze świata zdają się nie ułatwiać tego zadania. Jednakże sama już szansa spotkania i porozmawiania o sprawach wiary daje nadzieję nowego przebudzenia. Gdy katecheza ta zostanie dobrze przygotowana niewątpliwie będzie mogła osiągnąć swój cel.
    In the face of changes taking place in the modern world, it is noted for the need of constant stimulation to the living testimony of faith. That is why the aim of this article is to highlight the important role in stimulating the living witness of faith, and in raising awareness of parents of their duties and responsibilities, in relation to their children's full baptismal catechesis. Catechesis is an opportunity for their religious development, so that from the individual faith, they can move to the faith professed and shaped in the community of the Church and family. Today's hustling and variety of proposals for ,,happy life” flowing from the world do not appear to facilitate this task. However, the chance to meet and talk about issues of faith gives hope to a new awakening. When catechesis is well prepared, it will undoubtedly be able to achieve its purpose.
