Introduction/background: This article presents the functioning of a production company in the construction chemicals industry. Based on the literature research, the following thesis was formulated: the use of tools to improve logistics processes significantly improves and increases the efficiency of production processes in the analysed enterprise. In the article, the following issues were indicated: analysing the course of logistics and production processes in the analysed enterprise, developing a map of the production implementation process and the products on Line retooling process, analysing the possibilities of implementing tools to improve logistics and production processes and developing recommendations for the enterprise. Aim of the paper: The main purpose of the study is to identify irregularities in the implementation of logistic processes in the examined enterprise and to propose improvement measures. Materials and methods: In the research part, the authors proposed Lean Production improvement tools (SMED, TPM) to optimize logistics processes and production. Results and conclusions: The work created by the authors is a research article that includes a full analysis of the production and logistics processes of a company from the construction industry. The paper presents irregularities occurring during logistics and production processes, and proposes improvements. The authors argue that it is important to introduce the proposed improvements to optimize logistics processes and production, and that they are possible to implement in other manufacturing companies.

The last year and a half has been a time of severe adversity for the construction industry and the cooperating companies. The plummeting building and assembly productions figures, combined with negative results, have significantly reduced competition on the market.

The purpose of the paper is to analyse the competitiveness of the largest enterprises of the construction industry operating in Podlaskie Voivodeship, against the background of other firms from the sector in the years 2010–2012. The analysis uses the so-called Nagashima's radar, which enables a synthetic depiction of the relative changes of selected sets of indicators concerning the analysed entities from the construction industry. The conducted research into the analysis of competitiveness of largest construction companies of Podlaskie, as compared with the rest of the sector, reveals that the period 2010–2012 saw both increases and decreased in the indicators regarding the profitability, financial stability, capital activity, growth, and efficiency of the studied companies. In 2012, in comparison with the preceding year, a downturn was observed in e.g.: some of the profitability indicators, growth indicators, and labour efficiency indicators.

Cost estimating techniques are approaches towards delivering reliable estimates for any projects or endeavour. However, the usage of the different estimating techniques available depends on prevailing circumstances revolving around such project while the reliability and accuracy of each of the estimating techniques quite differ from each other. This study had through literature review identified six (6) electrical cost estimating methods and through a structured questionnaire assessed the causal factors influencing the usage of the six estimating methods. Data were retrieved from 80 respondents and analysed. The results of the study indicate the most critical causal factors as incomplete details in electrical working drawings, the absence of electrical design drawings and unclear/ambiguous electrical specifications. The study also proffered probable solutions to five of the most critical causal factors. In addition, site-observed productivity constants of electrical technicians at three different residential project sites were obtained which will serve as a valuable cost tool for estimators when carrying out electrical cost estimating jobs. The findings of the research have considerable implications for the education, training and practice of estimators in the construction industry.

Zgodnie z tendencjami literaturowymi logistyka stanowi domenę innowacji. Innowacje są szczególnie pożądane w zakresie podmiotów działających w branży budowlanej. Innowacje logistyczne w budownictwie można rozpatrywać w zakresie: przedsiębiorstwa budowlanego i przedsięwzięcia budowlanego. Celem referatu jest opisanie koncepcji Modelowania informacji o obiekcie budowlanym jako nowości usprawniającej zarówno logistykę przedsięwzięć budowlanych jak i logistykę przedsiębiorstw budowlanych w aspekcie teoretycznym i praktycznym. W referacie opisano przesłanki i istotę BIM oraz kierunki rozwoju BIM w budownictwie. W referacie zaprezentowano także wyniki badań empirycznych dotyczące świadomości BIM w Polsce.
According to current literature the logistic comprise of the innovations domaine. The logistic innovations are particulary desirable in building trade. The logistic innovations in building trade ranged an enterprise and a undertalking in question. The main goal of this article is the description of Building information modeling as the innovation that rationalize not only the logistic enterprices but also the logistic undertalking in theoretical and practical aspects. In the article the reasons to Bim, the essence of Bim and the trends in the development of Bim on the example of building trade have been described. In the following article the results of empirical research concerning workers awareness of Bim in Poland have been presented.

Because there had been no information on how harmful asbestos-containing products were and because of their advantages and low price, these products were in common use, especially in construction, until the mid-1980s. The authors discuss types of asbestos-containing materials and products, taking into account where they can be found and how much asbestos there is in individual products.

The aim of the article was to determine the situation of construction sector companies in Poland. The analyzes were carried out on the basis of the statistical data related to the indicated companies, in the years 2007–2015. As an additional feature of the financial situation of the studied sector, there were pointed out statistics on bankruptcies in this area in the indicated years of analysis. Many of measurable characteristics were analyzed, such as the size of receivables, liabilities, revenues of different activities or net profit of the studied group. This led to the conclusion that the situation of the construction industry in the years 2007–2015 can be defined as positive. In addition, it should be noted that the size of the bankruptcy of analyzed enterprises reflects the situation, about which conclusions can be drawn from the aspects analyzed in the study.
Celem artykułu było określenie sytuacji przedsiębiorstw sektora budowlanego w Polsce. Analizy przeprowadzono w oparciu o dane statystyczne odnoszące się do wskazanych przedsiębiorstw, w horyzoncie czasowym obejmującym lata 2007–2015. Jako dodatkową cechę sytuacji finansowej badanej branży wskazano statystyki dotyczące upadłości w tym obszarze we wskazanych latach analizy. Przeanalizowano szereg cech mierzalnych, takich jak wielkość należności, zobowiązań, przychodów z tytułów różnych działalności czy też zysku netto badanej grupy przedsiębiorstw. Doprowadziło to do sformułowania wniosku, iż sytuacja badanej branży w latach 2007–2015 może zostać określona jako pozytywna. Dodatkowo twierdzi się, że wielkości upadłości wśród firm analizowanej branży odzwierciedlają jej sytuację, co do której wnioski wyciągnąć można z aspektów przeanalizowanych w toku badań.

Przedstawiono także przykłady drukowania obiektów budowlanych. Dotychczasowe doświadczenia w tym zakresie posłużyły do przeanalizowania możliwości druku przestrzennego w szerszym zastosowaniu do budownictwa. Technologia ta niesie za sobą duży potencjał automatyzacji i robotyzacji pracochłonnych robót budowlanych.
The three-dimensional printing technology is evolving and it is using in a variety of sectors, such as aerospace and automotive, and other branch, for example: medicine, fashion, art. The scientists are trying to apply this technology in to the construction industry. The paper is describing the development of three-dimensional printing and contains brief description of methods like: Stereolithography (SLA/SL), Selective Laser Sintering (SLS), Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) and 3D Printing (3DP). This paper is describing examples from the world, where three-dimensional printing technology is used to print the buildings. Based experience in this area was used to analyze the capabilities of three-dimensional printing in wide use for building industry. This technology has a great potential for automation and robotics labor-intensive works on construction site.

Opis:
To cope with large-scale construction projects consortia are widely used. Yet they entail opportunities and risks. In order to evaluate the motivation and hindering factors to found a consortium, which are mentioned in literature, a survey of German construction companies was carried out. The result is that motivational factors are higher rated than the hindering ones. Another influence on a successful consortium, respectively the opportunities and risks, is the choice of partners. This influence was also surveyed and evaluated. None of the given criteria was assessed as unimportant. The conclusion can be drawn that the success of a consortium is highly dependent on the right choice of partners, which can increase the opportunities and decrease the risks.
Przy realizacji projektów budowlanych na dużą skalę bardzo często wykorzystuje się konsorcja. Aby oceniać motywację i czynniki utrudniające funkcjopnowanie konsorcjum, o których wspomina się w literaturze, przeprowadzono badania niemieckich przedsiębiorstw budowlanych. Z badań wynika, że motywacyjne czynniki są najważniejsze. Inny wpływ na udane konsorcjum mają odpowiednio okazje i analiza ryzyka. Żadne z danych kryteriów nie zostało ocenione jak mało ważne. Z badań wynika, że sukces konsorcjum jest bardzo zależny od trafnego wyboru partnerów.

The aim of the article is to analyse the financial standing of real estate development companies listed on WSE and to fix on this basis their competitive position in Poland in the years 2007-2013. Liquidity, debt, turnover, profitability and market efficiency ratios were used to construct the taxonomic measure of investment attractiveness (TMAI). It was the basis for a comparative assessment of the companies financial condition. The financial condition of the company determines its survival and development opportunities in a competitive and changing market environment, and therefore – it is an indicator of competitive position. The group of companies with a stable competitive position and good financial condition is small. Most companies showed frequent changes in the ranking. Entities whose financial condition underwent systematic deterioration dominated in the examined population. TMAI indicator has a generally low value, which means that the financial condition of the realtors is weak.
