Opis:: In recent years, with the increasing popularity of IoT, the rapid growth of smartphone usage enabled by the increase adoption of Internet services and the continuously decreasing costs of these devices and services has led to a huge increase in the volume of data that governments can use in the context of smart city initiatives. The need for analytics is becoming a requirement for smart city projects such as city dashboards to provide citizens with an easy to understand overview of the city. As such, data should be analyzed, reduced and presented in such a way that citizens can easily understand various aspects of the city and use this information to increase quality of life. In this paper, we firstly present the context and the start of the design and implementation of proposed solution for real-time data processing in smart cities, mainly an analytics processing pipeline and a dashboard prototype for this solution, named My City Dashboard. We focus on high scalability and modularity of this platform.

Opis:: Spis ludności jest podstawowym źródłem informacji o stanie i strukturze ludności oraz jej rozmieszczeniu terytorialnym. Badanie to stanowi zasadniczą część narodowego i międzynarodowego systemu statystyki oficjalnej przede wszystkim dlatego, że dostarcza szacunków liczby ludności. Spis jest jednym z najstarszych badań statystycznych, ale... czy to badanie jest nam dzisiaj nadal potrzebne? Czy statystyka oficjalna, której zadaniem jest zapewnienie rzetelnego systemu informacji, jest w stanie sprostać tym oczekiwaniom? W rozdziale podjęto próbę odpowiedzi na powyższe pytania poprzez omówienie zmian organizacyjnych badań statystycznych, metod przeprowadzania oraz transformacji spisów ludności, a zwłaszcza zagrożeń i perspektyw na przyszłość związanych z wykorzystaniem pozastatystycznych źródeł danych (m.in. rejestrów administracyjnych czy big data), jako alternatywnych metod przeprowadzania spisu ludności.
The census is the basic source of information on the condition and structure of the population and its territorial distribution. This study is an essential part of the national and international official statistics system, primarily because it provides population estimates. The census is one of the oldest statistical surveys, but ... is it still needed today? Is official statistics, whose task is to provide a reliable information system, be able to meet these expectations? The chapter attempts to answer the above questions by discussing organizational changes in statistical surveys, methods of conducting and transformation of censuses, and especially threats and future prospects related to the use of non-statistical data sources (eg administrative registers or big data) as alternative methods carrying out a census.
