    Assembly lines are special flow-lines production systems which are typical in the industrial production of high quantity standardized commodities. Assembly line balancing is based on evenly distribution of operations between workstations so that each idle time of the machines was minimal. It is assumed that operation times on the machines and the precedence relationship existing between the operations which results from the technology of the production line and the cycle time or the number of machines are known. In the paper short description about general assembly line problem and cost-oriented is described. Next the author presents description of used algorithms. A numerical example is calculated and the results are discussed. Presented paper shows that cost oriented assembly line balancing problem differs from time oriented problem and the differences are underlined.

    In companies, the simulation has been used for over thirty years through analytical support and has improved production, handling and logistics. Simulation tools are very frequent and support the analysis process for the design and control of operations management and distribution. With the recent development of supply chain management, firms are part of more complex supply chains. The modelization and the evaluation of the links of these chains are vital for overall performance and to reveal strategic and inter-organizational issues that may appear. The work described in this paper is the result of a study that was conducted as part of a project to establish a new assembly line in an existing plant. The main objective of this paper is to present a summary review of the simulation potential in the design and the management of an industrial process through feedback. The paper also attempts to highlight mistakes that can be made in such projects.

    W artykule przedstawiono analizę wyników otrzymywanych podczas obliczeń balansu linii montażowej dla problemu czasowo i kosztowo zorientowanego. Omówiono krótko ideę balansowania linii montażowej, następnie przedstawiono problem czasu i kosztów występujący podczas tworzenia harmonogramu i sekwencji zadań przydzielanych do linii. Przedstawiono również przykłady numeryczne, które pokazują różnicę w podejściu czasowym i kosztowym. Przeprowadzono analizę wyników i sformułowano wniosek, iż oba podejścia prowadzą czasem do różnych wyników.
    In the paper the analysis of result of time-oriented assembly line balancig problem and cost oriented assembly line balancing problem is presented. Short description of assembly line balancing problem is given. Then the problem of time and costs in assembly systems is shown. The idea of cost-oriented algorithm is presented, too. Two examples are calculated and the results are discussed. As a conclusion an important note is given, that using of methods of time and cost oriented can lead to different results.

    Artykuł porusza problem rebalansu linii montażowej. Zaprezentowano znane metody heurystyczne wykorzystywane w problemie balansowania linii montażowej typu 1. Następnie zaproponowano sposób wykorzystania tych algorytmów do rebalansu linii montażowej, problemu występującego w fazie wdrażania nowego produktu na istniejącej już linii produkcyjnej.
    Problem of rebalancing of assembly line is discussed. Known heuristic methods which are used in finding solution of assembly line balancing problem type 1 are presented. Next, usage of these algorithms for rebalancing of assembly line is proposed. The mentioned problem is very important in a production system during design and starting assembly of a new product.

    This dissertation discusses the issue of modernisation of testing modules and procedures in an automated assembly line adapted to manufacture medical pressure transducers in Aesculap Chifa company. The manufactured transducer is used for invasive measurement of patient’s physiological pressure, and, therefore, must not pose any threat either to patient’s health or life. This is the reason why the operation of the assembly line has been identified, testing modules and procedures have been evaluated and the construction modifications have been suggested. During the research, the influence of suggested construction modifications, enhanced with procedure changes, has been verified.The suggested adjustments have enabled, as required, to improve the operation of automated assembly line adapted to manufacture medical pressure transducers.

    W koncepcji Lean przepływ jednej sztuki jest realizowany m.in. przez zmianę liniowego rozmieszczenia stanowisk roboczych w U- lub S-kształtne gniazda produkcyjne. Dalszą formą doskonalenia przepływu materiału (półproduktów) jest wdrożenie systemu Nagara. Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie głównych założeń doskonalenia przepływu materiału przez stanowiska montażu z wykorzystaniem systemu Nagara.
    The concept of one-piece flow is implemented such by changing the linear arrngement of workstations in a U- or S-shaped production cells. Another form of improving the flow of material is the implementation of the Nagara system. This article aims to present the main objectives of improving the flow of material through the assembly line the use of Nagara system.

    The paper addresses application of digitazation of production processes, which is part of organizational digitization, also known as Industry 4.0. It deals with modernization and optimization of production systems by creating models in simulation software via digital engineering. For our analysis, 8 real assembly lines were used, with an average of 15 workplaces, which were integrated into one universal line by means of simulation. The aim of our research was to create a digital twin of the real assambly lien and to analyse effectiveness of the proposed modernization universal assembly line using the generated statistical data.

    Wkładki topikowe niskiego napięcia są dzisiaj najlepszymi rozwiązaniami do ochrony instalacji elektrycznych przed skutkami zwarć i przeciążeń. Wśród różnych parametrów wkładek, specjalne znaczenie mają rezystancja elementu sensorycznego (topika) oraz gęstość piasku, który wypełnia korpus. Zapewnienie 100 % kontroli tych parametrów było jednym z głównych celów projektu automatyzacji montażu końcowego wkładek. W artykule przedstawiono linię, która powstała w wyniku realizacji projektu.
    Low voltage fuse-links are the best solution for protection of electrical installations again effects of short circuits and overloading. Amount different parameters of fuse-links, special important are resistance of sensor (fuse) element and density of sand, which fill the ceramic body. Assurance of the 100 % testing of these parameters was one of the main goals of the project, which includes automation of final assembly of fuse-links. The paper presents the manufacturing line, which is result of this project realization.
