    In the essay, I make an attempt to present several ways, in which the Western canon of literature, music, and cinema has influenced Noc Walpurgi. With regard to this, Marcin Bortkiewicz’s film turns out to be a work made of many citations, in Walter Benjamin’s terms, drawn extensively on Goethe’s Faust, Mann’s The Magic Mountain, Bulgakov’s The Master and Margarita, Wagner’s Ride of the Valkyries, and Puccini’s Turandot, and the film noir poetics elaborated in the 40s and 50s of the twentieth century. Based on Magdalena Gauer’s monodrama Diva, Noc Walpurgi illuminates in the highly expressionist manner an alienated, cynical, and despotic psyche of Nora Sadler, a great opera singer, who is tormented by the Holocaust past.

    Artykuł porusza problem filmowości spektakli „Sceny Plastycznej KUL”. Z drugiej strony podejmuje problem filmowego zapisu dzieł teatralnych Leszka Mądzika. Autorka pisze o tym z perspektywy reżysera filmowego, a także badacza analizującego sztuki wizualne. Odnosi się do psychologicznych i poststukturalnych teorii filmowych, obecnych zwłaszcza w nauce francuskiej. W artykule odnaleźć można również osobiste refleksje dotyczące zapisów filmowych dzieła teatralnego. Autorka próbuje dać też odpowiedź na pytanie, w jaki sposób obecność kamery przekształca spektakle.
    The article deals with the problem of filmmaking of the theatrical performances created by the Artistic Stage of KUL. On the other hand, concerns the issue of the film recording of Leszek Mądzik's stage works. The authoress writes about it from the perspective of a film director and as a researcher analyzing visual arts. It refers to psychological and post-structural film theories, especially in french science. In the article can be also find personal reflections on the film recordings of theatrical work. The authoress tries to give an answer to how the presence of the camera transforms the performances.

    The school institution has always been subject to social criticism. The negative image of the school was not always fully justified and true. It happened that the words of criticism contributed to the improvement of school’s image. The school is one of the most important social institutions, it is therefore essential that its assessment be objective and the difficulties encountered / shortcomings have become an impulse for discussion, dialogue, and then for correction and supplementation. This text is an attempt to indicate the role of the art that presents selected areas of the functioning of the school. In the text, I refer to historical examples of art involvement in the educational and upbringing process at school, thus trying to signal that art was already an important element of education in the past. It was creating the image of the school. Today we can notice a similar practice. On the one hand, the presence of art in school creates its image, and on the other hand, art that works outside also creates its image. In the text, I present a number of examples of how school is perceived in an artistic image of fine arts, film and theater.
    Instytucja szkoły od zawsze poddawana była krytyce społecznej. Negatywny obraz szkoły nie zawsze był w pełni uzasadniony i prawdziwy. Bywało, że słowa krytyki przyczyniały się do poprawy jej (szkoły) wizerunku. Szkoła to jedna z najważniejszych instytucji społecznych, dlatego tak istotne jest by jej ocena była obiektywna, a pojawiające się trudności/ niedostatki stały się impulsem do dyskusji, dialogu, a dalej do korekty i uzupełnienia. Niniejszy tekst jest próbą wskazania roli sztuki, która swoją twórczością prezentuje wybrane obszary funkcjonowania szkoły. W tekście odwołuję się do historycznych przykładów zaangażowania sztuki, zwłaszcza muzyki, plastyki i sztuki teatralnej w szkolny proces dydaktyczno-wychowawczy, pragnąc tym samym zasygnalizować, że sztuka już w przeszłości edukacyjnej była ważnym elementem nauczania. Swoją obecnością już wówczas tworzyła wizerunek szkoły. Współcześnie obserwujemy podobną praktykę. Z jednej strony obecność sztuki w szkole kreuje jej wizerunek, z drugiej sztuka funkcjonująca na zewnątrz także tworzy swój wizerunek. W tekście prezentuję kilka przykładów postrzegania szkoły w artystycznym obrazie plastyki, filmu i sztuki teatralnej.

    Opis:
    Rich and diverse portfolio of works by Herzog & de Meuron is an unique example of a vast potential of combining contemporary art and architecture. Instead of basing on usual scheme of a work of art and its neutral background, described activities, rooted in Jacques Herzog’s artistic experiences, broaden standard definitions of both disciplines. Numerous a empts of collaboration between the architects and the artists (e.g. Rémy Zaugg, Thomas Ruff, Ai Weiwei, Olafur Eliasson and occasionaly even extended in a larger scale. Works by Herzog & de Meuron may be treated as a barometer of contemporary time – showing, interpreting, or even stimulating certaing architectural trends and tendencies.
    Bogata i różnorodna twórczość pracowni Herzog & de Meuron jest unikalnym przykładem olbrzymiego potencjału łączenia współczesnej architektury i sztuki. Nie chodzi tu jednak o tradycyjny schemat dzieła i neutralnego tła. Działania zakorzenione w doświadczeniach artystycznych Jacques’a Herzoga dają efekty wykraczające poza standardowe rozumienie obu dziedzin. Liczne próby współpracy architektów z artystami (byli to m.in. Rémy Zaugg, Thomas Ruff, Ai Weiwei, Olafur Eliasson i Anish Kapoor) poszerzają granice sztuki i architektury, dając czasem prekursorskie rozwiązania, kontynuowane i rozwijane później w szerszej skali. Twórczość Herzoga i de Meurona można traktować jako swoisty barometr współczesności – ukazujący, interpretujący bądź wyprzedzający i stymulujący pewne trendy i tendencje w architekturze.

    Przemysł filmowy nie istnieje dzisiaj bez rozbudowanych działań marketingowych, opartych na niestandardowych rozwiązaniach. W artykule zaprezentowano, w jaki sposób przemysł filmowy wykorzystuje działania z pogranicza sztuki oraz działania marketingowe, oparte głównie na szokowaniu odbiorców, do promocji filmów i seriali z gatunku horrorów. W artykule przedstawiono związki pomiędzy różnymi formami sztuki (np. site-specific) a zjawiskami z obszaru komunikacji marketingowej (np. guerrilla marketing, ambient marketing). Podstawą do wysunięcia wniosków jest analiza informacji o przedmiocie badania (tzw. metoda desk research) oraz przegląd literatury dotyczącej badanej problematyki.
    The film industry does not exist today without extensive marketing activities based on non-standard solutions. The article presents the ways in which the film industry uses activities from the borderline of art and marketing activities, based mainly on the shock of recipients, to the promotion of films and series from the horror genre. The article presents relationships between various art forms (e.g. site-specific) and phenomena from the field of marketing communication (e.g. guerrilla marketing, ambient marketing). The basis for the conclusions is the analysis of information about the subject of the study (the so-called desk research method) and the review of the literature related to the studied issues.
