    The implementation of thermal renovation of residential and public buildings is becoming more and more popular. The need to save energy and reduce the energy demand of buildings is becoming a civic duty. Consequently, sacred buildings should also be adapted to the requirements of modern times. Due to the specific use of these facilities and their mostly large cubature, administrators rarely decide to take such measures. Examples of thermomodernization activities in church buildings can be invaluable as they are an example for administrators of other buildings of this type. The paper presents the following case study: A comprehensive thermal renovation of a church building in Rzerzęczyce.
    Przeprowadzanie termorenowacji budynków mieszkalnych i użyteczności publicznej staje się coraz bardziej popularne. Konieczność oszczędzania energii i obniżenie zapotrzebowania budynków na energię staje się wymogiem cywilizacyjnym. Także obiekty sakralne powinny być dostosowywane do wymogów współczesności. Ze względu na specyfikę użytkowania tych obiektów oraz ich zazwyczaj dużą kubaturę administratorzy dość rzadko decydują się na takie działania. Tym cenniejsze są przykłady podejmowania działań termo modernizacyjnych w budynkach kościołów, które mogą być przykładem dla administratorów innych kościołów. W referacie przedstawiono studium przypadku: termorenowację budynku kościoła w Rzerzęczycach.

    Trends in development of 1945-2015 sacral architecture in Poland are presented in the paper. The issue is analysed on the example of Czestochowa Archdiocese churches. The analyses are based on the authors’ own researches conducted between 2010-2015. Churches drafts, information about estimate year outlays and data from parish records were collected from each parish and considered. The author especially focuses on the buildings from the 70s,80s and 90s, which are not suited to the current needs of parishes. Visible trend to build very large sacral objects in the 70s/80s, due to uncertainty of getting further building permissions is described. Multifunctional buildings, containing catechetical classrooms erected as a result of restrictive government regulations on the construction of churches in the 80s and 90s are presented. The author emphasizes that in the XXI century, smaller and better adapted to the needs of the local community church buildings are created. These facilities are in addition more energy efficient and built with materials of better quality.

    Sacred buildings in Poland in the 20th century are characterized by a great variety of forms – although the sacred world is by its nature conservative. Different conditions should be taken into account when designing a church. In the sphere of sacred art and architecture one should rationally draw from the treasury of the new and the old. After World War II over 3,500 new churches were built in Poland, including the church in Nowa Huta in Krakow. This realization is an attempt to reconcile traditional forms with modernity and with the recommendations of the Second Vatican Council.
    Budownictwo sakralne w Polsce w XX wieku cechuje duża różnorodność form – choć świat sacrum jest ze swej natury zachowawczy. Projektując kościół należy uwzględniać różne uwarunkowania. W sferze sztuki i architektury sakralnej należy racjonalnie czerpać ze skarbca nowego i starego. Po II wojnie światowej powstało w Polsce ponad 3,5 tys. nowych kościołów – w tej liczbie także kościół w Krakowie Nowej Hucie. Realizacja ta jest próbą godzenia form tradycyjnych z nowoczesnością oraz z zaleceniami II Soboru Watykańskiego.

    After 1945, the situation of the Catholic Church in Poland has undergone radical changes. In years 1945-2000 there was a very dynamic time for systemic economic change in our country, determining the formation of architecture also influencing its aesthetic qualities. This applies especially to religious architecture, whose free development during this period was strongly disturbed. New conditions in which investors had to operate the church - makers after 1945 the construction of temples, significantly influenced the possibility of proper functioning and development of the sacral. This article attempts to analyze the basic mechanisms directly affecting the process of investment-realization and, consequently, the evolution of architectural forms of contemporary churches, performed in the Archdiocese of Cracow in 1945-2000.

    W pracy zaprezentowane zostało współczesne budownictwo sakralne Myszkowa. Opisano pięć budynków kościołów wzniesionych po II wojnie światowej w tym mieście, uwzględniając rys historyczny oraz charakterystykę architektoniczną i budowlaną obiektu. Zaprezentowano po dwa zdjęcia każdej ze świątyń.
    Myszków is a country town of 33 thousand inhabitants located in śląskie province. Within the hierarchy of the catholic church this town belongs to zawierciański pastoral district of arch-diocese of Częstochowa. Contemporary sacral buildings of Myszków are presented in the paper. There are descriptions of five postwar objects, including their history and some details about their style, architecture and construction. Photographs of the churches are also presented.
