    Opis:
    Paper presents a proposal for improvement of implementation concerning one of Lean Manufacturing (LM) tools, in particular 5S method. For that purpose there was applied Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) in simplified form. A test analysis concerning implementation of the 5S method in one of Subcarpathian companies was performed by a team consisting of workers involved in that implementation of and external experts. Results of that analysis showed that the biggest difficulties playing role in implementation of the FMEA are the ones associated with laziness of workers and shortage of understanding advisability of 5S implementation. Obtained results are aimed at improving implementation of the 5S method in the company. They might be, however, also helpful in implementation of that method in other enterprises.

    The FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) method is a systematic approach used to identify potential failure modes in production processes, as well as the associated effects and likelihood of those failures occurring. The FMEA method helps to prioritize potential failure modes based on their potential impact, allowing organizations to address the most critical issues first. This article presents a comprehensive review of the FMEA method, including its history, principles, and steps. The article also discusses the benefits of the FMEA method for companies, including improved product quality, reduced costs, and enhanced customer satisfaction. The FMEA form is an essential component of the FMEA process, as it helps to ensure that all relevant information is captured and organized in a structured manner. This article will introduce the FMEA method and provide an overview of the FMEA form, including its various sections and how it is used in the FMEA process. The aim of this article is to provide a comprehensive analysis of FMEA and the ways in which it is applied, to ensure the applicability of FMEA to manufacturing processes for manufacturers. In this way, manufacturers will benefit in time, budget, energy and profitability. In addition, with FMEA, problems will be prioritized according to their criticality, and errors will be intervened at the right time and in the fastest way. In the article, an FMEA form will be created for the steel rope production process as a study case, and the benefit and profitability it will provide to the manufacturer will be revealed. In this way, the effect of FMEA in a production process will be embodied.

    Sustainable manufacturing is to ensure that cost-effective manufacturing processes do not endanger the environment, are implemented in a way that is safe for life and health of employees and the public. The question then arises of how to improve manufacturing processes to make them more sustainable? Such a question cannot be answered unequivocally. The author draws attention to the possibility of using for that purpose FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) method, which aims to identify potential defects in the process/product and then eliminate them or minimize the risks associated with them. In the article it will be proposed modification of this method for using it in the process of sustainable manufacturing.
    Zrównoważone wytwarzanie polega na zapewnianiu, że opłacalne ekonomicznie procesy wytwórcze nie zagrażają środowisku naturalnemu, są realizowane w sposób bezpieczny dla zdrowia i życia pracowników oraz społeczeństwa. Powstaje zatem pytanie w jaki sposób usprawniać procesy wytwarzania aby uczynić je bardziej zrównoważonymi? Na tak postawione pytanie nie sposób odpowiedzieć jednoznacznie. Autorka artykułu zwraca uwagę na możliwość wykorzystania w tym celu metody FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis), której celem jest identyfikowanie potencjalnych wad produktu/procesu, a następnie ich eliminowanie lub minimalizowanie ryzyka z nimi związanego. W artykule zaproponowana zostanie modyfikacja tej metody dla zastosowania jej w procesie zrównoważonego wytwarzania.
