adsorpcja azotu - Opis:
- A comparative analysis of porosity is presented for active carbon, ordered mesoporous silica MCM-41 and silica gel on the basis of nitrogen adsorption isotherms measured over the entire relative pressure range (from 10[- 6] to 0.99) at 77K. It is shown that the classical method of porosity analysis proposed by Barrett, Joyner and Halenda (BJH) fifty years ago provides realistic results even for active carbons with larger micropores, if use is made of the proper film thickness and the proper form of the Kelvin equation. The film thickness for nitrogen on the silica surface estimated on the basis of adsorption data for a series of the MCM-41 samples allowed for more accurate evaluation of the film thickness on the carbon surface, and consequently for better analysis of porosity for carbon adsorbents. After these improvements, the BJH method seems to be promising for comparative porosity analysis of various adsorbents and catalysts.
