    In this article the author explores the Ukrainian motifs in Eugeniusz Tkaczyszyn-Dycki’s poetry, which appear from the first volume to the last, so they are durable. At the beginning the research examines Dycki’s interest in the Baroque, because in this period Ruthenian (Ukrainian) motifs began to appear. The paper presents the theses on Eastern themes by Dycki, which were described by other researchers, to which the author referred and which he creatively developed. The article has stated that the theory of post-colonialism does not fully match the Polish-Ukrainian realities. In Dycki’s works we notice an attempt to build an idyll in Polish-Ukrainian relations, and at the same time its disintegration was shown. The author of the article has found an analogy for this attitude of alienation and disinheritance in the interpretation of the life and work of Jean Genet, which was presented by Jean-Paul Sartre in his book „Saint Genet, Actor and Martyr”. The research has reconstructed family relations with his father and mother in Dycki’s poetry, and also examined the function of Ukrainian words appearing in his poems. First of all, his relationship with his mother, indicating an emotional dependence, attracts attention.

    The press belongs to one of the most important tools of propaganda influence on society. It was often used to conduct open wars aimed at promoting specific political views or reasons. For this reason, it can be concluded that the press release has also always had a significant impact on the security of the state. The purpose of this article is to illustrate Polish‑Ukrainian relations, presented in the pages of the most important Polish‑language newspapers of Lviv in the second half of 1930, during the sabotage of Ukrainian nationalists in Eastern Lesser Poland and the repressive action conducted by the Polish authorities in consequence. The most widely read Polish newspapers in Lviv were selected for the purposes of the article. In order to show the whole of the discussed issue, archival sources and publications were also used.

Marii Magdaleny, naczelniczką Wydziału Kultury Miasta Lwowa, naczelniczą Wydziału Ochrony Środowiska Historycznego Miasta Lwowa, dyrektorami Lwowskiej Sali Muzyki Organowej i Kameralnej we Lwowie, dyrektorką polskiej Szkoły im. św. Marii Magdaleny we Lwowie i parafianką parafii św. Marii Magdaleny, jak również o ukraińskie akty prawne oraz artykuły w ukraińskiej i polskiej prasie, opisano kolejne etapy sporu o odzyskanie kościoła, jego upolitycznienie, a także wyszczególniono polityków i aktorów związanych ze sporem. Podjęto również próbę odpowiedzi na pytanie, czy trzydzieści lat niepodległości Ukrainy spowodowało rozszerzenie, czy ograniczenie rzeczywistej wolności politycznej tego kraju, ze szczególnym naciskiem na kwestię, czy kraj ten stał się wolny od wpływów poradzieckich oraz czy jest wolny w stopniu, jaki umożliwia egzekwowanie własnego prawa.
    This article is a case study of St. Mary Magdalene’s Church in Lviv and the efforts of parishioners to regain the church for the parish and the faithful in the context of the reality of the multinational border city. Based on data obtained during interviews with various figures (Consul General of the Republic of Poland in Lviv, the Metropolitan Curia in Lviv, the parish priest of St. Maria Magdalena, the Head of the Department of Culture of the City of Lviv, the Head of the Historical Environment Protection Department of the City of Lviv, the directors of the Lviv Organ and Chamber Music Hall in Lviv, director of the Polish School of St. Mary Magdalene in Lviv and a parishioner from the parish of St. Mary Magdalene), as well as information on Ukrainian legal acts and articles in the Ukrainian and Polish press, consecutive stages of the dispute over the recovery of the church are described. The article also considers the politicization of the dispute and discusses the activities of politicians and other actors who have been involved. Furthermore, an attempt was made to answer the question whether thirty years of Ukraine's independence resulted in either the expansion or restriction of the actual political freedom of this country, with a particular emphasis on the question of whether the country has become free from post-Soviet influence and whether it is free to such an extent that it can enforce its own law.
