Tczew - Opis:
- The object in question (which serves the needs of a municipality with about 70,000 inhabitants) has been designed to provide mechanical and biological treatment.It makes use of a three-stage system for removing organic substances and nutrients via an anaerobic tank, a denitrification tank and a nitrification tank.The reported study was started seven months after theplant had been set in operation.The measured results showed that the organic matter load received by the plant was higher than the one anticipated by the designer.But this increase was found to have little effect on the operation of the plant itself.Comparision of the quality of untreated and traeted water revealed that the removal efficiency varied fromm 880 to 90%-both for organic compounds and nutrients.BOD5,COD,total phosphorus and total nitrogen in treated samples averaged 29 gO2/m3,110 gO2/m3,2.3 gP/m3 and 7.9 gN/m3,respectively.The investigations showed that,till 2000,there would be no need to aid the treatment process by chemicals.
