    The paper presents the research intentions of official statistics prepared in close cooperation with government agencies, local government units as well as business, social and union organizations. The basic criterion for the preparation of the programme was to provide the continuous observation socio-economic situation of the country. The proposed research will provide information to enable the obtaining and analyzing current assessments used for forecasting trends and historical and international comparisons. (original abstract)

Artykuł nie dotyczy natomiast kwestii, które odnoszą się do wszystkich krajowych sektorów instytucjonalnych, tj. kapitalizacji wydatków na badania i rozwój czy zmian w zakresie rejestracji wydatków na małe narzędzia.     he author presents the importance of the new European System of National and Regional Accounts (ESA 2010) for statistics of the general government sector. She pays particular attention to the development of data for the excessive deficit procedure. The article explains the methodological changes made to the studies in this field parallel to the ESA 2010. It discusses, among others, issues related to defining the deficit and debt of the general government, as well as the determination of their personal and of the on a new way registering transfer of liabilities of pension schemes. It also presents the impact of new methodological guidelines for the relationship of deficit and debt to GDP in the Member States of the European Union. (original abstract)

    The Geostatistical Portal allows quick and easy access to the statistical information obtained from censuses in 2010 and 2011 as well as data from Local Data Bank (BDL). It is used for spatial presentation of Poland's largest information resource and allows to publish aggregated statistical data in the form of various spatial analysis. Based on the results of recent censuses, it is possible to generate more than 2,550 cartograms and carto-diagrams grouped in 18 main topics, while BDL contains data categorized into 28 main topics for annual data and 7 main topics for short-term data. The portal is helpful in making strategic decisions at every level of management. It is aimed at people who use statistical data, including those in public administration, businesses, individuals and research institutions. (original abstract)

    The author presents results of study concerning changes of forest area in Polish gminas and powiats in years 2008 and 2013. It was recognised that changes of forest area cannot be explained by both afforestation and deforestation processes only. It is important in terms of area fluctuations, eg. of private forests is secondary succession forests on abandoned former farmland as well as heterogeneous approach to the recognition of such areas in the register of land and buildings.     The increased interest in data on entrepreneurship and economic conditions of local character determines the need for systematic expansion of the information provided by economic statistics. The economic need to reduce the costs of creating the official statistics and the pressure to reduce burdens on business units and statistical reporting are limitations. Reconciling these expectations is not easy. On the one hand there is a need to modernize research methodology towards increasing the use of administrative systems. On the other hand, particular attention should be paid to maintaining the proper communication of official statistics with respondents and data users. These projects take on a special dimension in the short-term business statistics, due to the large number and frequency of research. This article presents the challenges and prospects for short-term statistics of enterprises against the existing rules and business conditions. (original abstract)

    W ostatnich latach priorytetowym zadaniem dla statystyki publicznej jest doskonalenie metod pomiaru i analizy różnych aspektów zrównoważonego rozwoju społeczno-ekonomicznego. Wysoką rangę w zakresie monitoringu zrównoważonego rozwoju ma pomiar jakości życia. Poprawa jakości życia oraz ograniczenie nadmiernych różnic w jakości życia różnych grup ludności (w układzie społecznym i przestrzennym), w tym eliminowanie wykluczenia społecznego i ubóstwa, stanowi podstawowy cel współczesnych koncepcji rozwoju społeczno-ekonomicznego (Szukiełojć-Bieńkuńska, Walczak, 2011). Znajduje to odzwierciedlenie w strategiach rozwojowych przyjmowanych zarówno na poziomie ogólnoświatowym, jak i na poziomie Unii Europejskiej (UE) i krajowym. (fragment tekstu)
    In recent years, priority for public statistics is to improve the methods of measurement and analysis of various aspects of sustainable socio-economic development. The high rank in terms of monitoring sustainable development is the measurement of life quality. The article presents the CSO 's general concept of life quality survey. It includes the previously completed research and analysis as well as proposals for the development of this research issues for the coming years. Adopted by the CSO concept of measuring the life quality refers both to the Polish tradition of research in this area, as well as international recommendations. This concept takes into account the multifaceted nature of the category of life quality and increasing importance of subjective measures. It was considered that in the measurement of quality of life CSO will seek to take into account the widest possible range of information on all domains adopted by the European Statistical System, including the Polish specifics.     The article describes the role of social media in the information society and the use of them by the public administration. For the analysis there were selected and assessed most popular types of social media. The evaluation included trends in the use of this type of information channels in dissemination of statistical knowledge as a way to build the image of official statistics in society. Particular attention was paid to their role in the activities of national statistical offices in the world, and especially in the European Union. (original abstract)

    Celem artykułu jest ocena realizacji programu skierowanego do bezrobotnych w wieku 45/50+. W latach 2009 i 2010 w Powiatowym Urzędzie Pracy (PUP) w Szczecinie prowadzono Program 45/50+, którego celem były działania aktywizujące oraz stworzenie warunków ułatwiających podjęcie działalności gospodarczej, a także umożliwienie podjęcia i utrzymania zatrudnienia przez osoby bezrobotne powyżej 45 roku życia. Program ten objął łącznie 728 osób (362 - w 2009 r., 366 - w 2010 r.) i był skierowany do osób bezrobotnych oraz do przedsiębiorców. Przeprowadzone szkolenia miały przyczynić się do podniesienia lub uaktualnienia kwalifikacji i umiejętności zawodowych. Osoby przedsiębiorcze z własnym pomysłem na biznes mogły zgłębić wiedzę z zakresu zakładania, prowadzenia działalności gospodarczej, w kwestii zarządzania i uzyskania nakładów finansowych na prowadzenie i rozwój firmy. Osobom takim umożliwiono otrzymywanie środków finansowych na uruchomienie i prowadzanie działalności gospodarczej. Bezrobotni mogli też korzystać z proponowanego im stażu. (fragment tekstu)
    The aim of the article is to describe the impact of the implementation of a program to increase the efficiency of persons aged 45/50+. The author analyzes program implemented by the Labour Office in Szczecin in 2009 and 2010. Implementation of this program was to encourage the employment of people aged 45/50+, as well as to acquire or upgrade skills and qualifications of these people to work. These tasks are implemented through: training, internships, the provision of one-off financial support for starting a business, intervention works and public works. The aim of the study is to determine whether the proposed program contributed to the shortening of the job search. To examine the differences in the duration of unemployment is used survival analysis models and acute form of the Regression Discontinuity Design (RDD). RDD parameters enabled the evaluation of the effectiveness of the implemented program. The analysis was conducted based on data from individuals deregistered from the Office in years 2009 and 2010.     Voivodship self-government in Poland plays an important role in the programming and carrying out voivodship development policy. The government prepares various documents, including regional development strategies and regional operational programmes to ensure sustainable development. Simultaneously these documents constitute a basis for making European funds available. Preparation of well-thought-out, complete, and coherent documents, as well as the monitoring their implementation require using figures describing different social and economic phenomena. A significant number of these figures comes from the public statistics system. The necessity of making use of hard data is of special importance right now, as the European Union both requires the presentation of progress in the efficiency of using European funds within the sustainable policy framework and makes future fund transfers dependent on the progress in achieving previously-set development goals. The aim of the article is to present the scope and the way of using statistical data in development documents on the basis of certain strategies and programmes from a Podlaskie voivodship area.     The mission of official statistics is to provide credible, reliable, independent and high-quality information on the state and changes in society, the economy and the environment, meet the needs of domestic and foreign users. Fulfillment of this obligation is reflected in the work of the current official statistics and in development activities. Monitoring of the socio-economic development requires continuous adaptation of statistics to the changing reality and the description of the phenomena and processes. The role of official statistics in the modern world goes far beyond the implementation of the research. Measuring sustainable development and information support for development policy are tangible examples of the undertaken challenges. The form and manner of data presentation have increasing importance for the effective transfer of information. To answer the need to improve communication with users, the CSO is implementing new systems of information share. The article describes, among others, "Strateg" and "Knowledge Databases".
