Opis:: Innovative activities, particularly R&D activity, is one of the priority objectives of the EU policy. R&D activities are a source of creating the most competitive, knowledge- based economic region. However, a low level of expenditure on R&D (especially in Poland) is a major problem in the EU. One reason for this situation is the lack of funding for R&D activity. State aid can be a form of assistance in this area. The aim of the analysis is to examine the intensity and trends of state aid allocated to R&D in Poland. The study will cover the examination of four parameters: the level of expenditure on R&D (GERD) to GDP, the level of state aid for R&D, the share of state aid for R&D in GDP and the ratio of aid for R&D expenditure to total aid. The analysis encompassing the years 2000-2012 will be carried out based on the statistics of the Eu-ropean Commission and UOKiK.

Opis:: Problematyka artykułu dotyczy zakresu ujawnień informacji na temat działalności innowacyjnej (w tym działalności badawczo-rozwojowej) w sprawozdaniach spółek. Tłem rozważań jest określenie potrzeb informacyjnych użytkowników sprawozdań w obszarze innowacyjności przedsiębiorstwa. Analizę zakresu informacji o działalności innowacyjnej i jej efektach prezentowanych w raportach rocznych przeprowadzono na przykładzie spółek giełdowych objętych indeksem WIG-chemia. Najważniejszy wniosek wynikający z badań to coraz istotniejsze znaczenie dla użytkowników sprawozdań informacji niefinansowych ujawnianych na temat innowacyjności. Potencjał do realizowania przez podmiot celów polityki informacyjnej na temat innowacyjności tkwi zatem w tych elementach raportów, w których takie informacje są ujawniane.
The article deals with the scope of disclosure of information about innovation activities (including research and development) in corporate reporting. Background for discussion is to determine the information needs of users of reports in the area of innovation in companies. The analysis of the scope of information about innovative activity and its effects is presented on the example of listed companies included in the index WIG-chemia. It analyzed the annual accounts, together with a management report for the year ending 31 December 2014. A principal conclusion of the analysis is the growing importance of non-financial information about innovation.

Opis:: The study takes up the issues of research and development activities in the econo-my. In the paper the following assertion has been verified: despite the increase in expen-ditures on R&D in Poland comparing to increasing investments in the developed econo-mies, it is not sufficient to compensate the existing gap in innovation between Poland and these countries. The study drew attention to the size and structure of expenditures on research and development in the developed countries and Poland. In the paper there was also an assessment of R&D activities undertaken by the public sector in Poland presen¬ted, as well as the state and the general causes of low or insufficient research and deve¬lopment activities in the Polish economy.
