    During the six months’ term of the second editor-in-chief of Wieści Polskie began to appear at shorter intervals, improved its layout, and streamlined its structure. It continued to inform its readers about life in occupied Poland, the Polish government and the Polish army in exile, and (at greater length) about the life of the refugee community in Hungary. Meanwhile Wieści Polskie became the target of repeated attacks by the Hungarian extreme right: they believed that the paper’s coverage of the Polish military in France jeopardized the political alliance of Hungary and Nazi Germany

    Okres redakcji Zbigniewa Kościuszki był najlepszą i najbardziej dynamiczną fazą dziejów pisma, przynoszącą szereg innowacji formalnych (jak zwiększenie objętości, wprowadzenie dodatków tematycznych i monograficznych numerów specjalnych) oraz otwarcie się na twórczość literacką. Aby uniknąć kłopotów politycznych wszelkie doniesienia polityczno-wojenne utrzymane były w tonacji neutralnej, bez ujawniania sympatii dla którejś z walczących stron. Ogromnie rozbudowano sprawozdawczość z życia kulturalno-artystycznego uchodźstwa oraz dział hungariców i polono-hungariców, a także promowanie książek i broszur wydawanych nakładem uchodźczych oficyn polskich na Węgrzech. Wkroczenie na Węgry wojsk niemieckich 19 III 1944 r. zakończyło egzystencję „Wieści Polskich”.
    Wieści Polskie had its heyday during the fouryearrule of Zbigniew Kościuszko. The periodicalincreased its size, launched a series of thematicsupplements and monographic special issues,opened its pages to literature. To avoid troublewith the authorities all frontline and political newswere presented in a neutral tone, without showingsympathy for either side.The coverage of cultural and artistic life of the Polishexpatriate community was greatly expanded; so weresections on Hungarian and Polish-Hungarian themes.The periodical also promoted books and pamphletspublished by Polish printers in Hungary. The historyof Wieści Polskie came to and after the Germaninvasion of Hungary on 19 March 1944

    This is a survey of ,,Nasza Świetlica. Materiały Obozowe (Our Clubroom: Refugee Camp Materials)”, a ditto weekly published in Budapest in 1941–1943. Designated as the cultural and educational press organ of the Citizens’ Committee for the Care of Polish Refugees in Hungary, it featured a broad range of subjects from popular science to humanities, the refugees’ literary productions, and a chronicle of cultural events in the Polish civilian and military camps. Special attention was paid to providing the readers with all-round knowledge about Hungary and the Hungarian nation.
