    Opis:
    The policy of open access to scientific publications at the Lublin University of Technology gave rise to the issue of sharing research data, which emerged to be a challenge for both research workers and librarians. Promoting awareness in the academic community of how the value and significance of their data increases and when others can make use of it is a novel and challenging task. The objective of this article is to present the activities undertaken for this purpose by the librarians of the Lublin University of Technology. These activities include introducing the Open Access Policy, creating a research data management strategy, and appointing two teams: one with the aim of supporting the University’s Project Office, and the second to create an institutional repository of research data. These actions contribute to the understanding of the value of sharing research results and how to be FAIR when doing so.

    Opis:
    The paper describes the genesis and the teaching process of the Data Steward School, Edition 2020, the first Polish school for data stewards. The initiative was implemented by Visnea sp. z o.o. (“Visnea”) in cooperation with GO-FAIR in the period from September 2020 to April 2021. The participants of the Training Programme, future data stewards, gained knowledge of the role of correct data management in achieving institutional objectives. The need to protect the legal and financial interests arising from the possession and archiving of data and data management plan design guidelines, along with the methodology for data collection, metadata, the existence of data repositories, data security and the means of data sharing and storage were also presented. The paper presents the evaluation of the Training Programme and discusses proposals related to the role and importance of the new profession, i.e. the data steward in a scientific institution.

    Rośnie znaczenie wiedzy zgromadzonej w różnego rodzaju systemach, w tym w kursach on-line. Połączenie systemów je przetwarzających z Internetem w znaczącym stopniu usprawniło rozprzestrzenianie informacji i zwiększyło jej dostępność. Coraz szersze uznanie zyskują ruchy Otwartego Dostępu (ang. Open Access). Politechnika Gdańska w ramach projektu Multidyscyplinarny Otwarty System Transferu Wiedzy – MOST Wiedzy buduje platformę o tej samej nazwie, która ma na celu udostępnienie w trybie Otwartego Dostępu zasobów nauki opracowanych na Uczelni. Celem tego działania jest szerokie wypromowanie potencjału badawczego i edukacyjnego Uczelni oraz jej pracowników. Usprawni to organizację międzynarodowych multidyscyplinarnych zespołów i projektów badawczych oraz nawiązywanie współpracy nauka – biznes w zakresie wykorzystania potencjału uczelni oraz komercjalizacji innowacji.
    At present more and more valuable information is gathered in various systems. Many participants get attracted by online courses available on numerous e-learning platforms. Most of these systems are available on the Internet, which increases the availability and the ease of processed data spreading. There is an Open Access initiative which becomes very popular nowadays. Gdańsk University of Technology implements a project called Multidisciplinary Open System Transferring Knowledge. The acronym of its name in the Polish language is “MOST Wiedzy”, which means “bridge of knowledge”. It is an Internet system of the same name whose aim is to provide an open access to the resources created and gathered at the University. The objective of the platform is to promote widely the research and educational potential of the University and its staff. This will facilitate international multidisciplinary teams building and research projects organisation. Moreover, it will improve the research-to-business (R2B) cooperation in the area of university scientific potential exploiting and commercialization of innovations.

Omówiono dokumenty i inicjatywy wspierające rozwój otwartej nauki w Polsce i na świecie. Kluczowa kwestia artykułu koncentruje się na celach i założeniach Planu S oraz problematyce otwartych danych badawczych. Zwrócono uwagę na korzyści płynące z otwierania danych badawczych: ograniczenie kosztów powielania badań, zwiększenie wydajności badań i widoczności dorobku naukowego, co wpływa na stopień oddziaływań badań i wzrost liczby cytowań.
    The article describes the main aspects of the Open Access, the requirements of Open Science and concept of openness policy. It discusses documents and initiatives which support open science both in the Poland as in the world. The main intention of this publication is to present the objectives and assumptions of Plan S and open data researches issues. The article also presents the advantages of better availability of such research data, among others: the optimization of research costs through deduplication, research efficiency and visibility increase which influence the impact factor and citation number of publications.

    The European policy of Open Access to scientific research is now one of the key issues discussed in public debates on the future development of scientific communication. The implementation of Open Access tools has significant impact on scientific and economic growth. On the one hand, Open Access accelerates disseminating new research findings and facilitates recognition of authors on a more global scale. On the other hand, Open Access helps provide equal access to knowledge and stimulates innovation. Thus, it has an important role in creating the modern information society and economic growth. International organisations, the European Union and governments of individual countries support the idea of Open Access giving recommendations and guidelines concerning making the outputs of research financed from public funds freely available. The paper aims to discuss the process of preparing and implementing the Open Access policy at the institutional level as well as the functionality and tasks of the Open Repository which is now being established on the Multidisciplinary Open System Transferring Knowledge Platform. The acronym of its name in the Polish language is “ MOST Wiedzy”, which means “Bridge of Knowledge”. The repository is a project of an archive of scientific publications, research data, scientific dissertations, as well as other documents and sources, created as a result of scientific experiments and other research and development work conducted at the Gdańsk University of Technology. It will also be a solution supporting communication between researchers and a platform for cooperation between science and business.

    Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie działań poprzedzających wprowadzenie Polityki Otwartego Dostępu wobec publikacji naukowych na Politechnice Krakowskiej (PK). Działania, których skutkiem było przyjęcie otwartego mandatu na PK, obejmowały m.in.: przygotowanie infrastruktury informatycznej – w tym utworzenie Repozytorium PK, opracowanie dokumentów prawnych, udostępnienie rozpraw doktorskich, wprowadzenie otwartych licencji dla czasopism naukowych wydawanych na PK, działania informacyjne i edukacyjne w zakresie OA. Prace te realizowano zgodnie z wytycznymi zawartymi w dokumentach rządowych oraz na podstawie praktycznych rozwiązań zrealizowanych w instytucjach naukowych. Konsekwencją tych działań było wprowadzenie, na mocy zarządzenia Rektora PK z dnia 22 marca 2019 roku, Polityki Otwartego Dostępu na PK. W podsumowaniu omówiono również dane przedstawione w pierwszym Raporcie z realizacji Polityki Otwartego Dostępu na Politechnice Krakowskiej.
    The article presents actions that preceded the introduction of open access policy for scientific publications at the Cracow University of Technology. These included: preparation of the IT infrastructure, providing access to doctoral dissertations, creating the CUT Repository, development of legal documents, introducing open licenses for scientific journals published at the CUT, information and educational actions in the field of OA. These works were carried out following the guidelines contained in government documents and based on practical solutions implemented in this area in the scientific community. The above-mentioned actions led to the introduction of Open Access Policy at the CUT under the Ordinance of the Rector of the CUT of 22 March 2019. The article also discusses the data presented in the first report on the implementation of the Open Access Policy at the Cracow University of Technology and the resulting conclusions.

    Polska Akademia Nauk przez kilkadziesiąt lat wypracowała różne sposoby komunikowania naukowego, począwszy od komunikacji nieformalnej – konferencji, zjazdów, spotkań o charakterze naukowym – przez książki i czasopisma, po publikacje udostępniane w bibliotekach cyfrowych oraz w modelu Open Access. Celem artykułu jest analiza analogowej komunikacji naukowej i funkcjonowania PAN w kulturze konwergencji oraz wykazanie, że instytucja ta wykorzystuje najnowsze formy udostępniania wyników badań, w tym narzędzia Web 2.0. W artykule przedstawiono dane liczbowe dotyczące drukowanych publikacji naukowych PAN. Na podstawie danych rejestrowanych przez bazę Arianta, przeglądu stron internetowych instytutów, komitetów i oddziałów oraz wywiadu przeprowadzonego w Biurze Upowszechniania i Promocji Nauki PAN opisano rozwój cyfrowego modelu komunikacji naukowej w PAN.
    The Polish Academy of Sciences for several dozen years developed different manners of scientific communication, starting from unofficial communication - conferences, conventions, meetings having a scientific character - from books and magazines to publications made available at digital libraries and in the Open Access model. The purpose of this article is the analysis of the analogue scientific communication and functioning of the Polish Academy of Science in the convergence culture and showing that this institution is using newest forms of submitting research results, including 2.0 Web tools. Figures concerning printed academic publications of the Polish Academy of Science are described in the article. Based on data registered by the Arianta base, the review of websites of institutes, committees and branches and an interview conducted in the Office of Popularization and Promotion of Education of the Polish Academy of Science, the development of the digital communication scientific model of the Polish Academy of Science is described.

    Postęp techniczny związany z upowszechnieniem elektronicznej formy publikacji oraz z rozwojem Internetu, kształtującym nowy status komunikacji, w rewolucyjny sposób wpłynął na sposób uprawiania nauki. Zmiana dotknęła także metod prowadzenia badań i rozpowszechniania ich wyników w teologii. Teologia systematyczna (traktowana tu jako obszar badań z teologii fundamentalnej, dogmatycznej i moralnej) jest specjalizacją teologiczną, która odwołuje się do wielu typów właściwych dla siebie źródeł (Biblia, nauka Kościoła, historia teologii, wiara ludu Bożego, liturgia itd.), a także rezultatów badań w innych naukach, a w końcu także wymaga uczestnictwa w toczącym się aktualnie dyskursie teologicznym. Stąd wspomniane zmiany ułatwiające dostęp do materiałów źródłowych i aktualnych publikacji mają wielkie znaczenie dla teologa, pod warunkiem zdobycia umiejętności posługiwania się nowymi technologiami. Ze względu na wielką liczbę źródeł udostępnionych w Internecie można w krótkim opracowaniu jedynie – nie zbliżając się do kompletności prezentacji – wskazać przez pogrupowanie różne sposoby ich publikacji. W ten sposób możliwa jest ich przybliżona charakterystyka i wstępna ocena wiarygodności. Dokonany przegląd pokazuje, że wiarygodność publikacji zasadniczo jest dziedziczona od podmiotów publikujących je: stąd pierwszeństwo mają instytucje naukowe, uznane wydawnictwa, nowe podmioty ukonstytuowane w przestrzeni Internetu, o ile przedstawiają jasną politykę naukową. Równocześnie, wobec ciągle wzrastającej ilości informacji, ważna dla naukowca jest orientacja w świecie baz danych, szczególnie tych dziedzinowych, zarówno bibliograficznych, jak i pełnotekstowych. Należy zauważyć, że niebagatelną formą rozwoju myśli teologicznej, niewykorzystaną jeszcze w wysokim stopniu przez środowisko teologiczne, jest umożliwiona w Internecie wymiana między naukowcami: bezpośrednia bądź odbywająca się za pośrednictwem wyspecjalizowanych platform.
    The practice of science has been revolutionised by the technical progress related to the popularisation of the electronic form of publication and the development of the global Internet network, which has shaped the new status of communication. The way research is conducted and its results disseminated in theology has changed as well. Systematic theology (here regarded as an area of studies in fundamental, dogmatic and moral theology) is a theological specialty which refers to multiple types of sources (the Bible, Church teaching, history of theology, the common Faith of the People of God, liturgy, etc.) as well as outcomes of research studies in other disciplines of science. Finally, it requires participation in the current theological discourse, hence the aforementioned changes facilitating access to source materials and current publications are of great signifi cance for theologians, provided that they acquire the ability to take advantage of modern technologies. Due to the large number of sources available on the Internet and the small scale of the study, it is only feasible to name them by grouping various ways of their publication. While this does not come close to exhausting their entire range, it is possible to characterise them approximately and assess their credibility in a preliminary manner. The review conducted shows that particular publications inherit their credibility from the entities which publish them, hence priority is given to scientifi c institutions and recognised publishers as well as new entities established already in the Internet space, provided that they pursue a clear scientifi c policy. Given the ever-increasing amount of information, it is also important for a scientist to be familiar with the world of databases, especially topical ones, both bibliographic and full-text. Moreover, the study notes that a signifi cant form of the theological thought development which has not yet been used to a great extent by the theological community is the scientific exchange on the Internet, either direct or mediated through specialised communication platforms.
