The collection of the Library of the Seminary Metropolitan Warmia “Hosianum” in Olsztyn is ten prints from the fifteenth and early sixteenth century, which include handwritten notes of Nicolaus Copernicus. They are printed in the field of canon law, philosophy and theology. Having these records is so valuable because the library of the great astronomer was in 1626 plundered by the Swedes and is in the library of the University of Uppsala. This study presents the first bibliophile passion of Copernicus, and so far the results of the thirty-four notes in the oldest volume from 1472 year, which includes two works of law. It includes numerous highlight, strikethrough, signs reminding finger, bug fixes and minor printing the notes consisting of one or several words. These records relate to students’ religious rights, the competence of the pope, the bishop and the abbot and other legal issues.
In den Beständen der Bibliothek des Höheren Priesterseminars in der Kirchenprovinz Ermland „Hosianum“ in Olsztyn (Allenstein) befinden sich zehn Drucke aus dem 15. und vom Anfang des 16. Jahrhunderts, die handschriftliche Notizen von Nikolaus Kopernikus enthalten. Es handelt sich dabei um Drucke aus den Bereichen kanonisches Recht, Philosophie und Theologie. Der Besitz dieser Notizen ist umso kostbarer, als die Büchersammlung des großen Astronomen 1626 von den Schweden geraubt wurde und sich in der Bibliothek der Universität in Uppsala befindet. Die vorliegende Abhandlung beschreibt zunächst die bibliophilen Vorlieben von Kopernikus und anschließend die Forschungsergebnisse zu den 34 Notizen im ältesten Band aus dem Jahr 1472, der zwei juristische Werke enthält. Darin befinden sich zahlreiche Unterstreichungen, Durchstreichungen, an einen Zeigefinger erinnernde Zeichen, Verbesserungen von Druckfehlern sowie kleine Notizen, die aus einem oder mehreren Wörtern bestehen. Diese Notizen betreffen das kanonische Recht, die Kompetenzen des Papstes, des Bischofs und des Abtes sowie andere juristische Fragestellungen. - Źródło:
