Opis:: The Pastoral Letters in a particular way undoubtedly reflect the theology resulting from the instructions concerning Church life. In the discussed texts, we can observe a two or even a three-level understanding or the concept of he elpis - hope. On the one band, the promise of God Himself (Tt 1,2) is presented as a basis for hope, as also the person of Jesus Christ (1 Tm 1,1). On the other band, it is actually Christ w ho is the subject of Christian hope (comp. 1 Tm 1,1). This hope, however, does not limit itself to indicating its basis or subject matter. It is closely related to the saving work of God. and hecomes the essence of the life of the first Christian community - the apostolic Church (comp. Tt 2,11-13; 3,1-3).

Opis:: “Sound doctrine,” present in the Pastoral Epistles, contains the most community-creating element that strengthens the communion of persons related to admonishment by the author of the inspired text directed at two Church leaders: Timothy and Titus. Both of them have the important task of caring for the “sound principles” among their subordinates, for pure doctrine that does not wander among unimportant matters, showing the most essential aims of human life and for increasing faith in Christ and His kingdom. The text of this article has been divided into three parts dealing with the adjective “sound”: διδασκαλία – the entire moral teaching; λόγος – the words, by which the authentic truth of salvation is proclaimed; and πίστις, the belief that simultaneously transmits and inspires neighbors. They are a sum total of one “sound doctrine” of the apostolic Church strengthened through God’s inspiration.
„Zdrowa doktryna” obecna w Listach Pasterskich zawiera najbardziej wspólnototwórczy i umacniający komunię osób element pouczenia autora natchnionego skierowanego do dwóch przełożonych Kościoła: Tymoteusza i Tytusa. Obaj mają za zadanie dbać o „zdrowe zasady” postępowania ludzi sobie powierzonych, o czystą naukę, która nie błądząc po sprawach małej wagi, ukazuje najistotniejsze cele w ludzkim życiu, oraz o wzbudzanie wiary w Chrystusa i Jego królestwo. Tekst artykułu podzielony został na trzy paragrafy obejmujące „zdrowe”: διδασκαλία – całość nauczania moralnego, λόγος – słowa, przy pomocy których głosi się prawdę o zbawieniu, oraz πίστις – wiarę, jaką niezanieczyszczoną przekazuje się i jednocześnie wzbudza w bliźnim. Stanowią one łącznie jedyną „zdrową doktrynę” Kościoła apostolskiego umocnioną przez natchnienie Boże.

Opis:: Saint Paul's epistles, especially so called pastoral epistles, bring us an unique picture of person being simultaneously master and disciple. Paul is aware that as an apostle he is always servant of God. At the same time, as a teacher he already has own disciples, like saint Timothy. The article comes up with an analysis of the relationship between master and disciple in 2Tm. Using so called socio-rhetoricalapproach, it compares Paul's model to the upbringing models known in the ancient Mediterranean: Jewish, Greek and Roman conceptions. After analysing inner texture, intertexture and social and cultural texture as well as the sacred texture it turns out that Paul made his own model of such relationship. While using many patterns form previously know models, he states that the relationship between the master and the disciple is in fact the relationship between three persons: the master, the disciple and God. Both master and disciple need to receive grace from God. Master may give his disciple an example of own life in order to inspire him. He is also able to show his disciple paths leading to God. However, God is the one who chooses his disciples, who enables them to gain both knowledge and virtues, andfinally who is the first and the most important master.
