Als Grundlage der Betrachtungen dient Jaroslav Rudiš international vielbeachteter Roman Winterbergs letzte Reise. Es geht um die Eisenbahnreise eines fast 100-jährigen Protagonisten namens Winterberg (geboren in Reichenberg/Sudetenland, heute Liberec/CZ) von Berlin bis nach Sarajevo mit dem tschechischen Krankenpfleger Kraus, der sich auf (Lebens-) Abschiede und Sterbebegleitungen von alten Menschen spezialisiert hat und Winterberg auf seiner letzten Überfahrt begleitet.Anhand einer Art von Heimatkonkurrenz zwischen den beiden Männern, einer potentiellen rückwärtigen Zukünftigkeit der KuK-Monarchie und der negativ besetzen Heimat der kommunistischen CSSR – die „alte Heimat“ ist fremder geworden als das „Exilland“ Deutschland – wird innerhalb des Beitrags versucht, den „Heimat“- „und „Fremdheitsbegriff“ neu zu justieren und das Verhältnis von Eigenem und Fremdem anders zu gewichten bis hin zu Überlegungen zu neuen Heimatkonzepten „in dürftiger Zeit“.
Podstawą rozważań jest ciesząca się międzynarodowym uznaniem powieść Winterbergs letzte Reise [Ostatnia podróż Winterberga] Jaroslava Rudiša. Prawie 100-letni protagonista Winterberg (urodzony w Reichenberg/Sudetenland, dziś Liberec/CZ) odbywa pociągiem podróż z Berlina do Sarajewa wraz ze swoim, pochodzącym z Czech opiekunem Krausem, który zajmuje się często starszymi ludźmi i towarzyszy im w ostatnich miesiącach życia. Opierając się na swoistej rywalizacji o ojczyznę między dwoma protagonistami, o potencjalnie zacofaną, ale przyszłościową Monarchię Austro-Węgierskiej i na negatywnych skojarzeniach z ojczyzną – komunistyczną Czechosłowacją – „stara ojczyzna” staje się bardziej obca niż „kraina wygnania”, tj. Niemcy – w artykule podjęta została próba redefinicji pojęcia ojczyzny oraz obcości, a w konsekwencji przewartościowania relacji między tym, co własne, a tym, co obce, i oraz przedstawiono nową koncepcję Ojczyzny „w nędznych czasach”.
Jaroslav Rudiš's internationally acclaimed novel Winterberg's Last Journey serves as the basis for the considerations. The work is about a train journey of an almost 100-year-old protagonist named Winterberg (born in Reichenberg/Sudetenland, today Liberec/CZ) from Berlin to Sarajevo with the Czech male nurse Kraus, who specializes in (life) farewells and palliative care for old people. He accompanied Winterberg on his last journey. Based on a kind of competition for the countries between the two men, a potential backward future of the KuK monarchy and the former communistic CSSR, the article tries to point out the reciprocity of "Heimat" and the being of “foreigner, stranger, other", and to shift emphasis on the relationship between what is one's own and what is foreign. - Źródło:
